[WOTC] Rusty's Psionic

Description
What is This?
This my personal adaptation of ADVENT AVENGERS Psionics Class
If AA wishes for me to un-list this I will.

For those not familiar with the above class mod, this mod introduces a Custom Class based around psionic skills that ranks up and grows like any other normal soldier.

So what did I change?
  • Well, for starters it is optional in the config if you want to trash the old psi lab or not.
    The default is to trash it. If you re-enable the lab (in XComRustyPsionic.ini), you may also want to re-enable the vanilla Psi-Operative class by adjusting the XComClassData.ini.
    This option exists so you can use this dedicated Psionic alongside something like Kyuubicles Psi Overhaul v3
  • This class integrates the perks from Iridars More Psi . No class data edits needed.
  • Works with most mod added psionic weapons including; Psi Implants , The Warlocks Crown, PZ Psi Melee , Ashlynne_Lee's ADVENT Warlock Rifle and Armoured Psi Vipers Vorpal Gatling Guns
  • Works with Psionics Ex Machina
  • Has pistol slot config for Dedicated Pistol Slot
  • Uses a recolour of NelVlesis' updated GTS image, and I made a new GTS Perk Icon
  • GTS Perk updated to give a boost only when concealment is broken. Boost is configureable. GTS Unlock costs are configureable.
  • Full localisation pass for class description, encyclopedia entry, nicknames and rank names
  • Inclusion of photobooth option to count this class as a Psionic Operative for poses
  • Class can equip the normally locked out PsiOffense only PCS'
  • Enabled the standard Psi-Operative Class Intro, its not a custom one but's its better than nothing :)

Weapons Setup
No changes to the main 'Psionics' tech are done here, units will start with a Rifle and Psi Amp (or Implant Amp) and you will still need to do the research to unlock better amps.

The default setup for Primary Weapons is ;

The default setup for the Dedicated 'Pistol' Slot is :

(No restrictions on heavy, utility, grenades, ammo or vest slots.)

As with any class the weapons that can be used can be adjusted in the XComClassData.ini by adding or removing the "+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=xxx, WeaponType=xxx)" lines
The pistol slot can be adjusted in the XComPistolSlot.ini

Armour Setup
The class can use any armour and the TLP Psionic outfit.

If using Armour Category Tweaks they will be limited to Light and Medium armours which include, normal soldier outfits, Spider, Wraith and EU Psi Suits, Titan, Hive, Chosen Shade and Chosen Orion Armours. They cannot wear the ruler suits!

Useful Info:
Detailed Soldier Lists will display the Psi Stat when used with this class.
Detailed Soldier Lists Redux will display the Psi Stat when used with this class.
Extended Personal Info Lets you see the Psi stat in the Soldier List Wings.
UI Mod for Def/Mob/Psi Allows you to see the Psi stat in the Armoury UI, but not elsewhere.
Robojumpers Squad Select UI Shows the Psi Stat only after the main 'Psionics' research is done

Known Issues/Compatibility
  1. I've used this setup for my AA Psionics for quite some time and found it rather well balanced. Technically it is an all new class so will add to the game just like any other class. In this respect you could run this AND AA Psionics if you really wanted.
  2. I use some config tweaks for Iridars More Psi , not shared here, but I don't think they affect the class balance all that much. (Soulmerge requires Inspire)
  3. Might break your save if you have already built a psi-lab and the config to trash the lab is not turned off.
  4. Works for LWotC with some minor config edits(see discussion), not intended for RPGO, should be perfectly fine in CI
  5. Also works with New Promotion Screen By Default if you don't want to use the awesome updated version ...
  6. No other known issues, bug reports welcome.

I don't think it is possible to have a psionics class rework and still train through the psi-lab. The way the psi-lab works and the UI and options per training are very limited to how the vanilla game wants it. This is why most class reworks of the psi-operatives follow this non-lab approach.

I see. I'm curious, would it be possible to modify the configuration for Rusty's Psionics so that the class is trained through the Psi Lab instead? I fancy the class rework, but I feel that allowing soldiers to promote into it right from the start gives the player a bit too much of an early advantage. If it's possible to tweak the configs, could you kindly guide me through the process if it is possible?

This class is a random promotion class from rookie to psionic. This mod also removes the psi-lab.

FOXCOM Psionics is a completely different way to play with psionics that requires the lab to train classes for additional psi perks. The two mods do not work alongside each other.

I think you're misunderstanding how those things work. FOXCOM adds psi abilities to an existing soldier, it doesn't 'train' a rookie to a Psionic class. Rusty's Psionic is a normal class that just happens to be a psionic based class, it doesn't interact with the psilab at all.

Hi, I tried using this with Foxcom 2 to train a rookie as a psi operator. But the psionic class still appears on the promotion screen as a choice. Is there any way to prevent it? I want to train a rookie as a psi operative, but don't want to promote a rookie as a psi operative.
This mod works with Chimera Classes? I'm new to modding in this game so i don't know so well

Mr Cloista's Psi-op class changes most psi-stuff-perks to use a focus-required approach. His class should be used pretty much as the only psi-style replacement.

Hello, so im having a small problem. and thought i ask here to see if anyone can help. my Psi class units wont let me use there psi skills? says not enough Focus? but there is no focus bar for them? i also notive my Guerrilla tac school has two Psi classes.
