[WOTC] More Psi Abilities

Description
FEATURES

This mod adds five new Psi Abilities to the game:
  • Phase Walk - teleport, similar to Avatar's teleport.
  • Psi Reanimation - raise a nearby humanoid corpse as a zombie. You can have several zombies at the same time.
  • Null Ward - cover yourself and nearby allies with psionic shields, similar to ADVENT Shieldbearer's Energy Shield ability.
  • Soul Merge - a mix between Inspire and Holy Warrior, give an action to an ally and boost their offensive stats.
  • Soul Storm - a close range ability with large area of effect that deals damage to enemies and destroys their cover.
Psi Reanimation and Soul Merge are mutually exclusive with each other and Mind Control, meaning you cannot cast them at the same time. However, there is now a way to manually release Mind Control and Soul Merge, as well as to release control of each individual Psi Zombie, should you need to.

Random Mind Control from Insanity and Psionic Rift can still happen regardless of these abilities. Probably.

New Psi Operative Skill Tree

Psi Operatives have their Skill Tree reset and restructured:

Telepath
Resonant
Comment
Soulfire
Stasis
Hurt enemy OR stun enemy
Insanity
Solace
Inflict mental status OR protect from them
Nullance
Nullward
Offensive use of "null" OR defensive
Soul Merge
Stasis Shield
Improve ally's offense OR defense
Soul Storm
Sustain
Inflict death OR get saved from it
Domination
Psi Reanimation
Control one enemy OR summon cannon fodder
Void Rift
Phase Walk
Punish enemy positioning OR improve yours

Soul Steal, Schism, Fortress, Fuse and Inspire are removed from the Skill Tree. Unfortunately, this is necessary to make room for the new abilities, as the original Psi Operative class has a limited number of potential abilities.

Psi Rookies and Psionic Class Skill Tree Changes

This mod also resets the Skill Trees for Psi Rookies WOTC and Psionic Class WOTC. However, unlike the Psi Operatives, new abilities do not replace the old ones, and are simply added alongside them.

REQUIREMENTS

Requires X2 WOTC Community Highlander.

Only newly-promoted soldiers will receive new abilities. If you want the mod to affect soldiers who already have had their class assigned, use RebuildSelectedSoldiersClass console command from [WOTC] Additional Soldier Console Commands.

If you care about after-mission stats and overall campaign stats, you probably should use (WOTC) Zombies Don't Count alongside this mod.

Should be safe to add mid-campaign, but I don't recommend doing it during a tactical mission just in case.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod resets the Psi Operative skill tree to add new abilities, which makes the mod incompatible with similar changes from [WOTC] LW2 Classes and Perks and other mods that touch that Psi Operative skill tree.

You can always "make" the mods compatible by constructing your own Psi Operative class skill tree by editing this mod's XComClassData.ini. Or disregard Psi Operatives completely, and use any other way to give my new abilities to your XCOM soldiers.

Phase Walk and Null Ward - come with their own animations and can be safely given to any soldier.
Psi Reanimation and Soul Merge - use vanilla psi animations, and require the soldier to use a Psi Amp or Psi Underlay from [WotC] No More PsiAmps.
Soul Storm - uses its own animation, but still requires the soldier to use a Psi Amp or Psi Underlay in order to properly launch projectiles.

A Utility Slot Psi Amp will probably do just fine, but I haven't tested it.
These perks are included in RPG Overhaul through RPG Overhaul - Psionics Specializations Extended.

CONFIGURATION

All of the abilities are highly configurable through:
..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1662114279\Config\XComIriPsiOverhaul.ini
Changes to Psi Operative skill tree are done in the XComClassData.ini in the same folder.

Bummer, I really like the psi perks you've added, but wish Insanity and Soulfire had been the sacrificed abilities rather than their upgraded counterparts.

Oh well. Regardless, thanks for responding so quickly, especially on such an old game, and thanks for all your other mods! I'm using a ton of them.

Not from this mod.

Is there a way to configure this mod such that Insanity and Soulfire are entirely replaced with their upgraded versions (Schism and Soul Steal, respectively), rather than being stuck with the low level versions?

Any mod that requires WOTC cannot work in vanilla.
Fulgrim's Chosen One 22 Feb @ 12:00pm
It wouldn't work with vanilla version, yes?
Iridar  [author] 19 Feb @ 12:02pm
Probably not

I have noticed that the "solace aura" removes the "soulMerge" from the soldier it affects. Tested it several times. Is this intended?

Because vanilla Psi Ops have their own weird promotion screen.

I am getting curious why the class has limits that psi roookies which gives the same powers does not.
