Description
Mods I use all together, all the time. These should be stable and compatible with each other (but see notes below). Some can seriously impact performance and fps.

NOTES - generic:
  • Also see my Mod I Use Sometimes collection.
  • See my complete collection for all mods and assets I use(d).
  • Don't "second load" (loading while already on a map). This breaks mods. Always exit and restart.
  • Don't disable a mod, always unsubscribe or exclude in Skyve.
  • Disable depth of field in the game settings to prevent blurriness when zooming in.
  • Some mods will make a savegame (nearly) impossible to load without it, especially 81 Tiles, More Vehicles / CitizenUnits / PathUnits and One-Way Train Tracks. Some others might plunge a city into chaos if removed, like Realistic Population.
  • Skyve gives several warnings about these mods, but nothing serious. All warnings are included in the notes below.
  • I get several innocent errors in my log. A frequent one is "AutoSave failed to load.", but saving is done and the save can be loaded just fine. The game mistakenly thinks the overwritten autosave file exists twice. Also happens when overwriting manual saves.
  • A few of these mods have no public source code.

NOTES - mod specific:
  • Turn Custom Font Manager off in FPS Booster to prevent font corruption. I still get font-related errors in my game log, but no (lasting) font issues in game.
  • Game Anarchy might prevent firefighter vehicles to spawn if fire protection for parks and campus is enabled with fire spreading activated. Turn off fires completely to prevent this. Fixed in July 2024 update.
  • Streamlined Toolbar hides unique buildings in the toolbar from the Africa in Miniature DLC (which I don't have).
  • Hide It's "Enforce hiding of Props" and Ruinings options conflict with BOB. Hide the ruining effects with BOB.
  • If Enlighten your mouse gives flickering light when close to a building or surface, increase the near clip distance in ACME.
  • Toggle It's buttons can't be captured into Unified UI sadly. Just use the hotkeys and turn the oversized panel off.
  • Visibility Control can have a huge impact on fps. Vanilla mode helps a lot (ctrl-shift-., or set as default in mod options). Additive shader and transparency LOD will still function.
  • Render It: Set Pollution Amount to zero in the Environment section to remove "pollution fog" from industry. Enable Tonemapping Vanilla Effect in Post-Processing options for Additive Shader to work. See this guide[docs.google.com] for details.
  • If Picker throws an error when picking a road, just try again.
  • Measure It's button can be captured into Unified UI. Then turn off the oversized panel.
  • Unlock all 81 Tiles before building metro stations to avoid metro lines dropping when purchasing a new tile.
  • Movable Bridge is not perfect; sometimes a car continues driving when a bridge is open.
  • Precision Engineering apparently conflicts with some (unspecified) mods, but I haven't noticed any.
  • Zoning Adjuster sometimes gives "mono path not found" errors in game log, but works fine. I keep it for "prioritize old/new roads" and for the 8m and 24m (1u and 3u) wide roads.
  • RON's automatic replacement can mess up TM:PE adjustments on the entire map.
  • Use Network Skins to change individual road segments, BOB for global changes.
  • Enable Auto-refresh in Continues Junction Median options if you get blue nodes (never seen it myself).
  • Improved Public Transport can apparently cause (unspecified) issues, but I haven't noticed any.
  • Intercity Bus Control requires Sunset Harbor DLC.
  • Tram Station Track requires Snowfall DLC and is required for City Tram Depot, Central Tram Station and Tram Station.
  • Reversible Tram AI requires Snowfall DLC. Not all functionality of Traffic Manager PE works on reversible tram tracks.
  • One-Way Train Tracks is required for Single platform station and Dutch 3-track station.
  • SingleTrainTrackAI is said to block Traffic Manager PE for traffic lights and priority signs on train tracks, but I use those just fine.
  • Advanced Vehicle Options saves its vehicle configuration both in a config file and in the save game. The config file is only used in a new game. So different games can end up with different settings. Use import and export to synchronize.
  • DMA Light Effects requires Snowfall DLC.
  • Additional Freight Transporters requires Sunset Harbor and Industries DLC.
  • Gravitative Cable Car requires Mass Transit DLC.
  • More Vehicles breaks maps saved in the map editor.
  • Better Warehouse Names requires Industries DLC.
  • Parkify requires Parklife DLC.
  • Campus Parks requires Campus DLC. It can apparently cause (unspecified) issues, but I haven't noticed any.
  • Custom Namelists doesn't support names for newer district types. Loading multiple namelists that change the same element will cause conflicts. I only use one namelist.
  • District Styles Plus V2 is the successor of Building Themes. It's newer and improved (copying of style, filtering on CCP assets, correct display of CCP styles), but lacks asset cloning. Historic buildings might despawn after changing styles. Removing all styles from a district does not save; remove and redraw the district to fix.
  • Realistic Population seriously changes the RCI balance. Try to keep unemployment below 8% and commercial demand around 50%. Build more parks etc. instead of shops.
  • Rebalanced Industries Revisited requires Industries DLC. It can apparently cause (unspecified) issues, but I haven't noticed any.
  • Natural Disasters Renewal requires Natural Disasters DLC. Its emergency button to stop a disaster doesn't seem to work.
  • Customize It Extended can really mess up the game if you change the wrong numbers, but works fine for things like changing the number of vehicles on a service building.
  • Surface Painter surfaces might disappear when you change the Advanced Pillar Control option in Move It.
  • Theme Decals is used by the SKF - Pavement Theme Decals, which are used in several residential houses from Avanya and Smilies.
  • Procedural Objects should not be used on Additive Shader assets, as these might disappear on next load. It might also prevent saving when you have too many PO's.
  • Custom Effect Loader is used by several assets and props.
  • Custom Animation Loader is required for Moveable Bridge and for a few assets. Animations are not shown at a distance (when the LOD is shown).
  • I also use the built-in Unlimited Soil mod.
  • The built-in Unlimited Oil and Ore, Unlimited Money and Unlock All are unneeded and incompatible, because Game Anarchy includes their functionality.
