sry to say that but this mod is not good at all. yes we can have more frost bombs or ammunion but whats the use of have more if the effect is missing (chilled enemys still move). so they only occupy important slots but have no effect at all.
Kinsect 28 okt, 2024 @ 19:51
say can this work with Tier 3 explosives as well?
Charlemagne 15 aug, 2024 @ 16:59
After using this for a while, the chill effect leaves me, well, chilled. Frankly the frost effect was something one counted on for crucial moments, to freeze a muton or a Chosen at the right moment. However, I see even the "epicenter" frost effect frequently fails and the enemy is not frozen even for one round.

@zin Thanks for the tip!
zin 10 apr, 2023 @ 10:35
It didn’t work when launching Frost Grenades with the Grenade Launcher. However, I set ‘FROSTBOMB_EPICENTERCOVERAGE’ to ‘100.0f’, and now, it freezes all units caught in the blast ^^
zin 9 apr, 2023 @ 5:02
Can confirm that works :)
zin 8 apr, 2023 @ 13:46
Hey, I love the mod, but I want to change the Frost Grenades and Frost Bombs so they freeze all units caught in the blast, rather than chill enemies not in the epicentre.

Does changing ‘FROSTBOMB_EPICENTERCOVERAGE’ from ‘0.4f’ to ‘1.0f’ achieve this?
Kinsect 27 jan, 2023 @ 22:19
does this work with the covert overhaul modpack?
Layth36 10 nov, 2022 @ 14:12
@Frizzeldian12 do those 685 include LWOTC by any chance?
Dęąth Viper 19 okt, 2022 @ 16:57
Just finished a campaign with about 685 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up.
dabeek 23 sep, 2022 @ 1:05
Is this added by LW2/LWOTC or am I doubly stupid?
Raizem 8 maj, 2022 @ 9:53
The Viper Armor skill isn't freezing nor applying chill... Any idea why?
.l3lackstar. 1 maj, 2022 @ 21:28
Just to reiterate, it does indeed hang on an overwatch shot. Regular shots are fine for me tho. Just have to remember not to overwatch with that ammo equipped.
Iridar 6 jan, 2022 @ 9:57
I was told frost ammo from this mod hangs the game if the freeze procs on an Overwatch shot.
Rossocuore 30 sep, 2021 @ 7:55
Hi. Can someone please comment on the interaction of this mod with "A Better Advent"? Do they work well together? Do same kind of units (for example robotics) in ABA have the same frost immunity? Thanks.
Enzo Matrix 28 jun, 2021 @ 7:23
I disabled this mod and sure enough my frost grenade got its damage back. Even though in the ini in the mod is edited to have damage and it shows the damage and all other stats in the game tooltip, in the mission however it does nothing, just freeze and chill. Any help to fix this?
Enzo Matrix 27 jun, 2021 @ 19:56
Can you help.. the Frost grenade does 0 damage even though ive set it to my preferred number. It displays in game the stats of the grenade but in a mission it does nothing. Why is this?
rexounnet 13 maj, 2021 @ 20:23
@nmt
ok found it for the DLC method you have to edit one line in the ini (from true to false)
bEnableExperimentalFrostGrenade=false ; Default = true
rexounnet 13 maj, 2021 @ 7:06
Like nmt asked, is there a way to use the DLC method ? I have been looking inside the ini but could not find anything....
N.C.V. 13 apr, 2021 @ 11:02
Can this be used with the bitterfrost protocol, or are they meant to be exclusive?
Very Strange Thing 2 apr, 2021 @ 22:27
Just wanna say thanks for this mod. I've always hated the forst grenade because of how grossly overpowered it was in disabling entire pods with ease. The nerf in this mod makes it a lot more tactical, still being able to disable key targets but not disabling a whole group. The chill effect is pretty nice too with a unique tactical application.

Only real issue is that the SFX for the frost ammo is pretty loud, but I can deal with that. Great mod otherwise.
Gwazi Magnum 8 feb, 2021 @ 23:58
Would the Frost Immunities apply to enemies from A Better Advent?
nmt 26 jan, 2021 @ 19:43
How do I disable the frost grenade so I can use the DLC method? Are the freeze area tweaks applied to the frost bomb acquired this way too? Is there anyway to config the area of freeze and chill by myself? Can I still upgrade the frost bomb acquired through DLC method if I am subscribed to superior explosives?
Kiruka 26 jan, 2021 @ 4:39
@Valvatorez Right now, nothing, as far as I know. Bitterfrost Protocol has two tiers of Cryo Launcher, which work more like vanilla Rocket Launchers in terms of mechanics.
WsandW 18 jan, 2021 @ 5:19
Nice!
Valvatorez(Cox Cable = awful ISP 7 jan, 2021 @ 15:16
Which mod has rockets for the Iridar's Rocket Launcher mod? As neither this nor Bitterfrost seems to have them.
kpej 2 jan, 2021 @ 23:01
wow
Rtma Eros Paragon 12 dec, 2020 @ 20:55
I see, thanks for the clarity, however I am concerned that using those two mods would overlap quite a bit, how do they differ if used in tandem?
Hotl3looded  [skapare] 11 dec, 2020 @ 5:44
@Rtma Eros Paragon Bitterfrost Protocol adds a Bitterfrost Grenade Mk3. This mod adds a Frost Grenade Mk3. Different mods, different items.
Rtma Eros Paragon 11 dec, 2020 @ 5:35
Can I get some clarity on this, if using Superior Explosives mod, do you have to use this mod for Frost Grenade Mk3 or does it work with Bitterfrost Protocol without this?
@R+5 1 dec, 2020 @ 14:35
i like the idea of chilling mechs and robotic enemies to give them a small bonus, but imo, it should be a one turn bonus to evade or hit, rather than moving faster: the mechanical parts wont improve speed with cold, in fact, it could make sense they lost speed.

so, imo, evade + hit bonus and reduce speed, and reduced area for moving.
WaterFowl 26 nov, 2020 @ 0:22
I have a suggestion for extra interesting balancing... the chill debuff could actually help robotic enemies. give them a very minor move speed bonus or something. Because electronics work better when cooled ;) just a thought
Bardmaster 17 nov, 2020 @ 20:55
@Hot3looded thanks, though I might suggest it would be helpful to add that explanation to your description (frost grenade will upgrade to frost bomb with "Advanced Explosives") since I don't think that knowledge is intrinsic.
Hotl3looded  [skapare] 14 nov, 2020 @ 19:19
Update:
Tier 3 Frost Grenade is now obtainable if [WOTC] Superior Explosives is installed:

Hotl3looded  [skapare] 13 nov, 2020 @ 8:40
@Love The Harley same way you would without PGO: Proving Ground experimental project.

With PGO, the item will become buildable in the Engineering Bay after research. Without PGO, you will need to redo the experimental project for an additional copy.
x-the-Andy-x 13 nov, 2020 @ 6:57
might be a silly question but how are these unlocked in the PGO v2?
Hotl3looded  [skapare] 6 nov, 2020 @ 19:34
@Bardmaster frost grenade will upgrade to frost bomb with "Advanced Explosives" not with "Plasma Grenade"
Bardmaster 4 nov, 2020 @ 13:12
@Hot3looded I just got plasma grenades and don't see the option to upgrade my frost grenade from the Alien Hunters DLC to a frost bomb. I have the Tier III Grenades mod. Is it because I didn't disable the Experimental Grenade option in the ini file when I started the new game?
Hotl3looded  [skapare] 2 nov, 2020 @ 4:12
@Syro System you can turn the freeze chance to 0 in the configs!
Syro System 2 nov, 2020 @ 2:16
I like the tweaks to the frost grenade a lot. Makes it useful without being OP cheese.
Not sure about frost bullets being able to hard freeze though, that feels a bit like repeaters (aka, very low chance to happen, but when it does it feels cheap).
Pat The Cat 25 okt, 2020 @ 16:43
@Hotl3looded Thanks for the info
Hotl3looded  [skapare] 25 okt, 2020 @ 5:16
@Pat The Cat just V2. PGO V1 hides the experimental projects and the items of this mod are obtained through the experimental projects.
Pat The Cat 24 okt, 2020 @ 19:38
Quick Question, Does this mod inherently work with the V1 of Proving grounds overhaul? or just V2?
Deathraven13 24 okt, 2020 @ 7:25
@José I've never saw that but try to search something like "cut content ammo" or something, you probably saw such ammo on such mod.
dmc32 21 okt, 2020 @ 16:46
The "chilled effect" works very well with game balance, not to strong and not to weak.
ZJwh5S 21 okt, 2020 @ 4:47
Is PGO compatible with Bitterfrost Protocol?
Deadput 20 okt, 2020 @ 22:06
@IceColdHeart

With these "problems" I presume being imaginary?
Eko 20 okt, 2020 @ 15:35
@IceColdHeart
Dude there is nothing wrong with the highlander ....
IceColdHeart 20 okt, 2020 @ 10:07
good idea, but required Communityhighlander mod wich causes more problems as helps.
José 19 okt, 2020 @ 23:16
I remember that there used to be rounds that did something similar before Alien Hunters was released that made chilled targets take more crit chance as a penalty with a small chance to reduce mobility to zero (like if they were frozen). Any way you could add that in as an alternate option?
