[WOTC] Superior Explosives

Description
OVERVIEW
This mod is my personal version of [WoTC]Tier III Grenades. It adds additional tiers to all base game grenades (for the Frost Bomb, see the companion mods section).

It started as a simple project to fix a few issues with the original mod, but over time, I ended up recreating that mod completely and adding new features and tweaks.

Here are the main changes from the original mod:
  • New yellow chevron icon for tier 3 grenades to be more consistent with TLE
  • Added tier 2 & tier 3 versions of Proximity Mine and Flashbang Grenade
  • Fixed an issue with tier 3 Smoke Grenade that prevented it from being carried alongside other grenades
  • All Flashbang Grenades are now considered utility items like the Smoke Grenades, meaning they can be carried alongside other grenades

Here is the nomenclature I used for all grenades:
  • Tier 1 = Grenade
  • Tier 2 = Bomb
  • Tier 3 = Warhead

FEATURES
Superior Explosives Project
  • Proving Ground project to unlock tier 3 grenades
  • Researchable after Advanced Explosives and Andromedon Autopsy have been completed

Proximity Mines
  • Proximity Mine is now obtainable much earlier in the game, after completing Advent Turret Autopsy
  • As a result, tier 1 Proximity Mine has been nerfed to the ground (less dmg, radius, shred)
  • However, it can now be used as an effective tool to setup ambushes in the early game
  • Tier 2 and tier 3 are unlocked with the corresponding Proving Ground projects, increasing their radius, their damage and their shredding capabilities
  • Tier 1 and tier 2 are weaker than the vanilla Proximity Mine while tier 3 is slightly stronger

Flashbang Grenades
  • All Flashbang Grenades can now be carried alongisde other grenades
  • Tier 2 and tier 3 are unlocked with the corresponding Proving Ground projects, increasing their radius

Other Grenades
  • All other grenades will also be upgraded to tier 3 after researching Superior Explosives
  • Tier 3 grenades have increased radius, dmg and shredding capabilities

COMPATIBILITY
This mod should be compatible with pretty much everything and can be added mid campaign.

Of course, don't use it with [WoTC]Tier III Grenades.

CONFIGURATION
The configuration files should be in the following location:
<Your Steam Install> \steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2286909473\Config\

You can tweak the stats of all new grenades.

  • Rework the localization of all new grenades

I finally found the necessary files, but the problem is that this is a script, not configs. So it's not easy and quick to fix.
This mod uses FlashbangGrenadeMk2 and FlashbangGrenadeMk3
The following grenade types are specified in the StingGrenades ability code:
- FlashbangGrenade
- HunterFlashbang
- AdvGrenadierFlashbangGrenade

Also, judging by the discussion with bugs - too many abilities do not work well with this mod. I'll have to unsubscribe, the iodine hasn't been updated for a long time.

The specific item is probably spelled out in the perc terms of use.
I assume that you need to find a file that describes the working conditions of perc Sting Grenades.
I could have tried to edit it, but I couldn't find the file itself.

Well, in general, it seems that all new grenades may not work on any perks that work with specific grenades, and not the entire class of grenades.

This mod disabled the Infinite Starting Items mod once I upgraded to T3 warheads so I'm back to buying flashbangs and smoke grenades one at a time. If only they were compatible

Highly recommend Zelfana's Assorted Fixes Config. Fixes a bug in this mod where the EMP Bomb has a 100% chance to stun the target. The mod has some awesome bug fixes overall too!

Is there a way to completely remove the Flashbang upgrades included in this mod? Playing LWOTC Mod Jam, if I let the flashbangs get upgraded I can't use Sting Grenades anymore. I've tried to make them buildable and limited but it still stops me from using the tier 1 flashbangs.

Hello there! Cool mod, big booms and all. But have a little problem: proximity mine benefits from some skills of soldier - either Boosted Cores (+damage to explosievs) or Officer's skill that granting everyone +1 on all damage. And it deals 1 damage on impact when thrown. Is there any way to make it deals 0 damage so it doesn't break coancealment:?

Just as a heads up for anyone in the future who might be curious like me, this mod innately works with A Better Weaponry since this mod doesn't touch tier 1 frag grenades, and that mod doesn't effect any grenades besides the tier 1 frag or introduce any grenades past the tier 1 flechette. ABW keeps the vanilla plasma grenades as the tier 2.

After researching the tier 3 explosives, the game freezes then crashes every time I try to start a mission.
