Improves on everything from the first game and delivers a great story. It's also much bigger than the original though,.. maps are huge.
I'm willing to bet the performance issues are greatly reduced nowadays.

The Saints are turned into a bunch of twentysomething ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that talk about student debt - Volition didn't just shoot themselves in the foot, they pulverized it with a twelve-gauge shotgun. The thought that anybody in that dev team imagined this game would sell well blows the greatest minds.
They alienated the audience that was looking forward to this game and made a game for an audience that never cared for this game.

And you thought what made this game bad was just the writing? Oh nononoooo... that's what I thought too.
The audio mixing is legitimately the worst I've ever encountered in a game. It is ♥♥♥♥♥♥! Wanna hear any gunshots or cars at all? Too bad! Both are extremely silent, and this is no exaggeration - This is a very talked about thing on forums.
I'm gonna try to finish this game but it's a tough task at this rate.

The game is alright. I'm a bit on the fence, I'd say.
The sprites look cool and the gunplay makes the shots you hit feel meaty. That's my biggest plus here. Blasting an enemy into gorey chunks and splatter them all over the level feels great.
Aside from the official campaign people can make their own levels.

But clearly this game has a bit of an identity crisis and takes a lot after Doom 2016. One thing I don't like is how this game's official campaign feels unofficial at the seams. Namely by how it handles shops like "real" levels that you can "pass" by going in and out - and at the end of each levels there's a "did you like the level" questionnaire which is just very reminiscent of what you'd put at the end of a workshop level for a game like Portal. Ever met a game insecure about its' own levels?

And there's an apparent difficulty inconsistency. Not that it matters, because dying is completely inconsequential. You respawn, pick up the level right where you left off with zero repercussions. Difficulty is only about how much you want to die per level.

People are singing this game's praises everywhere, so it's gotta be good right?
Turns out, people like it BECAUSE it sucks.

I physically can't continue. I get that maybe at the time it was revolutionary but now we've got other games that are not as slow with much more QoL.

Eh it's alright

The game is fun, and I like the customization. You can really turn your cars into something nice - and the races are just challenging enough to not feel frustrating or impossible.
BUT it feels like the story ends right as the player is really getting started. And it's one of the only games where I had to turn off the radio and put on my own.

Even more cinematic than the previous one, the epic conclusion.
Felt a bit shorter than the other ones though. But it's got some good sound design... because a weapon in a game is only as good as its' sound design.

Also - we get to see France blow up 10/10

Hey, back when COD was good!
The shift in focus to be much more cinematic in comparison to the original is very cool, but both are good. Engine is almost the same-ish.

If you're like me and want only to play the PS3 era Call of Duty games for their story, buy it on sale. It's alright, but it's short.

There were some parts that were quite difficult on hardened and some parts I really liked. You weren't a one-man army like in most FPS games, you were just as vulnerable as the enemy if you stepped a foot out of cover, and you had to work together with your bot teammates to clear out areas.

One of the best new games that I've played in recent times.
They nailed the gritty 80s movie feel, in a video game no less somehow! The story and cutscenes feel like they could fit in a new RoboCop movie. The game is extremely fun and I love the over-the-top gruesome violence.

But if there's B-movies, there's B-games. I had a lot of fun with this game but it is also not groundbreaking, I'd recommend this mainly if you liked the first two RoboCop movies. This game bridges RoboCop 2 and 3.
