Male elfies are on their way with the portrait 2.0 release. (One of the reasons it's taken so long. Female only is a lot simpler!)
Any hope of getting some beautiful male elves ever? <3
But at least the actual mechanics work correctly if you ignore the tooltips.
Whoops. That sounds very plausible. I'll ... get that fixed for the update. (We've got one coming soonish, won't be game breaking.)
Error in the the good Dark Elves, their home planet has a special blocker giving merchant jobs, which do not seem to exist in 4.0. I have trader jobs but no merchants. So, yeah, I have 125 merchant jobs empty since it no longer exists.
N, which thing did I over look this time?
If possible to do, yes. Focusing on more important replacements at the moment though.

Dunno how they fixed it (or if they did) but it might be worth looking into for elves.
The roadmap is the new portraits 2.0 first, then dark elf ships. So... eventually.
Thank you, I was not aware. I don't have the Machine Age DLC, but I guess it was a general change.
@TheGrandN: I reloaded my former save a couple years back, and the same thing happened. Everybody nearly instantly died, including not yet hired leaders. New ones, after a refresh of the "to hire" list are 5 years old or so and not dying.
You know, I find I need another shipset anyway because we have 2 dark elf city styles. Perhaps the Art Department can whip up a black version. (Shiny though I think!)
@Freeloader
Not a bad idea, but something to consider after we finish all our major projects first.
Thank you. I just got the "normal" Synth Leaders in another game, without Synthetic Ascention. I noticed their age is 5 years or so, with a max of 110. I thought Synth Leaders were immortal. I haven't really played for several years though, just started again with 4.0. So it may have been changed since then.
I'd love to have black Elven ships but I also want regular white Elven ships.
Huh. OK I'll try running a simulation and then doing it and see if they all die off that way when older. I can't see anything that should be interfering off hand so far. But I'll keep trying.
Ok just ran a test. Took the Synthetic Evolution Ascension Perk, completed the Synthetic Tradition, and then completed the project turning everyone into a toaster. Is that what you did? In my test everyone just turned into a toaster.
Did I get the right perk? Was there another step you used that I didn't?
Most of my leaders were in the 250-ish range. I'll do another test when I get a moment on one of the even older elf variants and see if it works there.
Well that sounds annoying.
I don't even have an old version anymore. I'm already prepping for the next release.
Have you tried deleting the mod directly from the workshop folder? Should be wherever your Steam Library is like:
SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\915432220
pretty pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
The Real Space System Scale compatibility patch no longer exists?
In any case, it's nice to see the highborns again!
Oops forgot. Will get this all compiled into the next update!
They will prove the superiority of Mer over Man, one century at a time.
@Mud
I'll have a look at that the reasoning for that.

No idea, some people have lots of trouble with it while others (like myself) never do. Watch, now I'll have trouble!
If the ships say biological, you're not on the right version. Try resetting your launcher using the instructions in the post below.
Wait, are you reporting that it's not being given by the Origin to custom empires, or requesting a version that isn't tied to an Origin?
Dunno if that still works but give it a try.
If the update isn't auto-downloading for you, you may have to reset your Paradox Launcher:
@[Closed Captions] : This also sounds like a download issue. Please reset your launcher.
Here are the instructions (as far as I remember):
1. Unsubscribe
2. Go to your \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\
3. Delete the launcher-v2.sqlite file
4. From the "mod" folder, delete all the files that start with ugc_
5. Resubscribe
Please keep in mind that your playsets may not survive this.
If this still doesn't work, consider renaming your whole \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\ folder to force the game to create a fresh one. That should prompt the launcher to rebuild its database.
