Hey mate, thanks for the mod! I've been doing some modding myself and have used your mod to give certain units bayonets as I am nowhere near knowledgeable to do it myself xD. I tried disabling this mod but the bayonets stayed on and they didn't go away even whem i unsubscribed, i might need to do a clean reinstall

I suspect levies in the game get a "2 band gun" oppose to a "3 band gun" (not carbines!) which could be part of the explanation why they cant kneel fire, cause historically 2 band guns were shorter rifles and could not be fired from as far back while in rank, otherwise risking blasting fellow infantrymen ears out, and would bridge the gap between long rifle and carbine. A good historical example was the pattern enfeild, which was the most common infantry rifle at the time. The standard 3 band was used for infantry and had a classic triangle bayonet, and the 2 band had a knife bayonete, similar to the one used in this mod.

historically the red bear and or bear troops didnt use bayonets but katana

I'm trying to edit the pack file to make it so the units have 400 units instead of 200. I'm using a 2x unit size mod and I managed to change this. However the bayonets don't appear any more. I'm trying to figure this out, any idea what else I need to change other than the number of men in a unt? Thanks

If you use mods that affect unit appearance it will conflict with this mod likely

Weirdly enough my guys rifles just disappear when I turn the mod on. Make the battles look.... Awkward when reloading.

Why do levies don't get bayonets? Due to their lack of reloading skill it seems to me like they're precisley the only units to truly benefit from it. (In the context of fighting levies with levies).

i see. :( but the ones i am running though are mostlly economic, diplomatic, cosmetic's, and all nothing touches the stats though i may have to uncheck all of them etc. maybe the manpower mods may be causing the issues as well.

No it's probably just which files interfere with each other. Anything that alters stats may interfere with this mod. It also depends on what other modders leave behind in their files.

though i may ask how come the white tigers don't get bayonets if they i think are gun equiped troops? or are they a melee troop?

Seems like even the slightest mod can conflict for whatever reason. I test this mod on a fresh vanilla install and it works.

For some odd reason I get katana's when I use this mod. I only use a few mods like the blood mods and those affecting turn length, diplomacy etc, so I don't think they should conflict. Anyway let me know what you think.

They use the yari animations in combat. Even in vanilla FoTS many units have bonus vs cav so I think they originally intended for bayonets but just ended up giving everyone katana

Looks cool as heck (just a shame you can't give a 'fix bayonets' order. That's just such a cool moment). Do they actually use the bayonets in combat, or is it purely cosmetic?

Pretty much conflict with every mod that alters unit_stats_land or whatever table. Most big mods have incorporated this mod into their own.

Mod works guys, bayonets added to every unit in game except a few. Looks amazing, makes game complete for me, charge is epic, and looks like a real bayonet charge.

This shouldn't overwrite unit mods unless they modify the current existing units.

Funny thing is that even before bayonets the higher the tier of unit the more bonus vs cavalry they already had despite using katanas.

it had something to do with not wanting to make animations for bayonets so they just kept the sword ones
