this mod still works in 4.0 for anyone wondering -
awesome job :)
Naptime Hyena 19 Dec, 2024 @ 7:10pm
oh hell yeah
Draconas  [author] 19 Dec, 2024 @ 11:44am
It has no vanilla overrides so works fine in 3.14, no update required.
Naptime Hyena 19 Dec, 2024 @ 11:11am
any chance you'll be updating this for 3.14?
LoiteringAround 16 Sep, 2024 @ 5:40pm
Thank you for the updates, you have excellent mods !:praisesun:

I could, but someone has gone one better and done a complete avenge of Planet Name editor: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2990475149 and they have inbuilt giga compatibility.
Noobinator 20 Oct, 2023 @ 8:49am
bro I love this mod so much, now when armies or buildings are building I can still tell what that planet specializes in. I have a small request, I was looking at the files and well, modding is not my expertise, I think I added exotic gases and synthetic crystals to your list, but I would LOVE if you could make a compatibility patch for gigastructural engineering. I like to know where I'm producing sentient metal and negative mass. I can currently copy the "DC3" tag or whatever special character from one of your naming icons and put in the resource from giga, such as ehof_sr_sentient_metal, but it is such a long resource name it always breaks the naming tool.
Cogeu 4 Oct, 2023 @ 8:19am
I love you
Draconas  [author] 1 Oct, 2023 @ 9:03am
There is no need to update, there is no vanilla code or behaviour change in 3.9, so doesn't need a new version.
Naptime Hyena 1 Oct, 2023 @ 8:38am
Is this mod expected to update to 3.9 soon?
RedRover72 5 Jun, 2023 @ 6:34pm
Many thanks!
Draconas  [author] 5 Jun, 2023 @ 12:03pm
Done.
Anex 5 Jun, 2023 @ 8:32am
Can you please add the "Science Microscope" icon since I don't usually specialize in physics, bio, and engineering planets separately.
Draconas  [author] 4 Jun, 2023 @ 11:48pm
It is, but only certain icons have been set so they can be used in localisation (As I discovered when making this), and originally there was no generic research.

I am pleased to say, at a generic science icon was added in 3.8 and I have included it below the other science icons.
RedRover72 4 Jun, 2023 @ 5:28pm
Ah, I didn't take a look to see how it was implemented, I guess I thought it was like localisation files. No worries if it's not possible. Thanks again!!
Draconas  [author] 3 Jun, 2023 @ 12:22pm
I'm glad you like it.
It wasn't because that wasn't in the text images. It might be now with the leadership changes so I will have a look.
RedRover72 3 Jun, 2023 @ 12:20pm
This is super handy. Now I can't stop adding icons to my min-max planets. Now that I'm addicted, Is it possible to get the generic research icon, too?
溯昔言 5 Apr, 2023 @ 10:05pm
I have to say this is the most fun, useful, and creative mod I've seen this year
swerdlock 21 Mar, 2023 @ 5:05am
Sorry 'bout that and thanks. Guess I need to work on my reading skills. :steamfacepalm:
Draconas  [author] 21 Mar, 2023 @ 1:51am
So it does literally tell you that on the colour picker menu in game, and the screenshot of the colour picker menu above.

If you don't fancy finding invisible characters, hit the random name option that will completely replace it, then re enter your preferred name.
swerdlock 20 Mar, 2023 @ 5:21pm
Yep. I use colors to reflect planet specialization and tried to change to a different color when I changed the specialization and - nope not happening.

Great mod by the way. It really helps me easily see planet specializations I use (energy, food, etc.)
Draconas  [author] 20 Mar, 2023 @ 12:52pm
after the initial selection? As in you have selected one colour now want to change it?
swerdlock 20 Mar, 2023 @ 4:59am
I am unable change the color after the initial selection? Tried it with and without Dynamic UI with same result.

Acting as intended or bug?
Nobunaji 28 Feb, 2023 @ 9:10am
@Draconas I tried again and for some reason it worked this time. Nothing changed in my playset. Weird
Draconas  [author] 26 Feb, 2023 @ 1:47pm
Interesting, the colour does work with UI Overhauls tiny-ui
Nobunaji 26 Feb, 2023 @ 12:36pm
Be warned : This has compat issues with the mods Tiny Outliner v2 (The colour doesn't show up but the prefix icon does)
Ryusa 19 Feb, 2023 @ 12:05am
Edit: it seems that's not the prefix icon problem, but certain planet can't add any prefix icon.
Ryusa 18 Feb, 2023 @ 11:57pm
Just encounter a blank name bug and here's a solution.
Issue: while trying add a "target" prefix icon (4th from the bottom), planet name return to blank and rename dialogue become unreachable.
Solution: reopen this planet again, don't click anything, ~ to call the console, type following codes:
effect set_name = name
then press enter, now the planet can be rename again.

Damn one has to wonder that noone stumbled about this soonner. well done mister. I will surely include this in my games from now on, great mod!
Draconas  [author] 18 Jan, 2023 @ 12:58pm
Completely, the system is baked into the vanilla text system and is described on the Stellaris wiki here: https://stellaris.paradoxwikis.com/Localisation_modding#Color_Codes
kinngrimm 18 Jan, 2023 @ 11:33am
i think i get the distinction. The special characters will be part of the name and the UIs no matter which once aslong they can read/intpret it like vanilla can, then it is shown in the color defined through these special characters. Are the icons based on a similar system?
Draconas  [author] 18 Jan, 2023 @ 9:53am
totally orthogonal to them. It acts via a planet decision and everything it does is adding special (but part of vanilla) characters to the planet name so has no custom UI at all.
kinngrimm 18 Jan, 2023 @ 9:41am
Does this mod work together with Dark UI and all the Danymic UI Overhaul mods and/or other UI mods?
Strange 2 Jan, 2023 @ 10:59pm
Thanks Draconas
Draconas  [author] 1 Jan, 2023 @ 2:24am
It's not, nor can it ever be.
acideiffel 31 Dec, 2022 @ 4:37pm
What about the :mailedfist: mode?
Draconas  [author] 30 Dec, 2022 @ 4:42am
@Strange I suspect it will be these: https://stellaris.paradoxwikis.com/Localisation_modding#Color_Codes (which is exactly what this mod uses)
Strange 29 Dec, 2022 @ 8:09pm
@Baka Racker can you share said notepad for when I have no access to said mod?
Superior General Delvardus 29 Dec, 2022 @ 9:25am
Very useful mod! Thank you!
IPWIW 28 Dec, 2022 @ 12:32am
finally,goodbye DC3
barkingnoise 27 Dec, 2022 @ 4:03pm
This is blessed.
I had missed the original mod completely and this revival will help me immensely in remembering which specialized planets have which specialization.
Baka Racker 27 Dec, 2022 @ 2:49pm
I only learned about that recently, when coming back to Stellaris after 3.5 update. I was like a kid in a candy store for the next two runs, renaming planets, leaders, fleets, species. :D
Draconas  [author] 27 Dec, 2022 @ 10:36am
Basically yes.
Baka Racker 27 Dec, 2022 @ 10:31am
Interesting. Probably easier than having Notepad++ open with the characters for colored text.
