As a heads up as of now i believe this mod breaks ringworlds as they become extremely deformed visually, the base mod seems to work fine without the patch

dead mod

I doubt it, we both have life going on atm and a lot of structures were added since either of us has looked at the code.
However, TheCreepOfWar appears to have recontinued updating his compatibility patch, so I suggest to look at theirs for a 3.8.x-compatible one. (For legacy play in 3.7, Victoneux's patch works fine as well.)

Is there going to be a 3.8 update of this mod soon?
Blind1337nedm 13 Dec, 2021 @ 7:23am
was unable to build gas giant megastructures, removing this mod worked.
PiFi  [author] 16 Oct, 2021 @ 10:03am
Thanks Andrew, the main issue is that I mainly do testing and looking for minor flaws in the code (like logic errors), whilst the actual coder of the mod here has been drenched in work IRL for the last few months. I can only do so much myself, but I can at least explain why issues persist or are tricky to solve most of the time. (Or when something else might be to blame, like the launcher sometimes.)

Hi PiFi, thanks for commenting. I understand & I know it not easy so I give a lot of credit to you guys for doing what you can and have. :cozyhoi4eagle:

Hi Andrew, the Dyson Sphere issue is a bit of a pain, especially given that since the most recent update Real Space added even more star classes. It would require rescaling and repositioning the structure for each of those as well, or declaring the thing unbuildable around them. This is iirc the issue with giants, supergiants and hypergiants (although custom systems introduced by other mods will look bad bc the rescaling didn't apply there), as those are "sunk down" by Real Space and System Scale to accomodate for their size. Hence, the Dyson Sphere (which isn't sunk) appears on top. It is the same for Star Lifters and Matrioshka Brains.

Is the Ringworld issue a thing during construction or when finished? I don't quite get what's going on based on your description.
Andrew_The Golden 9 Oct, 2021 @ 6:42pm
Hi, I'm coming from https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2208551616 in which I read the comments and sought to come here for the same remedy, and I appreciate the effort you guys take in solving these issue and keeping us update, but at least from my testing - this mod also has some issues, not as many as the prior however. Ringworlds will still be repaired and have seperated sections while Dyson Spheres will spawn on top of their star.
PiFi  [author] 4 Oct, 2021 @ 5:04pm
@ChemistryGuy The mod should function for 3.1, the creator just hasn't gotten the time to change said flag yet.
Netist 20 Sep, 2021 @ 7:01am
Well, I tried to troubleshooting this more, but Gigastructural Engineering released a new patch that introduced a new megastructure and changed many things, including rendering changes.
PiFi  [author] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 12:53pm
If it considers gas giants as habitable planets, then that is unlikely to be this mod's fault. I'll keep trying to reproduce the issue, but don't count on it being succesful.
Netist 19 Sep, 2021 @ 11:53am
Away from the computer at the moment, but I can mess more with the patch later. I do remember that the error was specifically about being unable to build it on habitable planets.
PiFi  [author] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 11:44am
@Netist With forcing the patch I meant (in Irony) going to Conflict solver and forcing the 'Irony patch'-codes to select this mod's code (amongst the different options, if this patch has code for it). It's rather difficult to know what you're doing though.

Can you add an image of the particular text you get when trying to build an Yggdrasil? (you can do so with an imgur link) You should get some when trying to build one (e.g. 'Must be built on a Gas Giant'). It might help me to figure out the recency of your version.
Netist 19 Sep, 2021 @ 8:26am
@PiFi Well, if you've made changes to the mod after May 5th, you may have never uploaded them, because this very workshop page shows that as the last updated date: May 5 @ 8:17am.

Anyway, removed SotP and placed Gigastructural Engineering first in the list, same problems. I am using Irony, and I'm loading the patch last in the load order. Not sure what you mean by forcing the patch other than that, though.
PiFi  [author] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 4:18am
@Netist I did, I reupdated all of those mods too and didn't get said issues. That's rather peculiar.
The Yggdrasil, of all things, should definitely be working as the code I have here is correct.

If you redownloaded it, it should say in the files you modified it last on the day of downloading, is that the case? Because if my memory serves right, we altered the molten world megastructure after the date you proposed.

I also put Giga before Real Space, but I doubt that should affect it. As I don't run Sins of the Profphets myself, that could be an another possible cause for the bugs, so try removing that one and see what it does. If that doesn't work, you might have to try brute forcing this patch's code with Irony Mod Manager, as the base launcher can be fickle at times.
Netist 18 Sep, 2021 @ 8:49pm
@PiFi Okay, so I've completely removed all mods except for the following, loaded in this order:
Real Space 3.8
Real Space - System Scale
Sins of the Prophets: Stellaris
Gigastructural Engineering & More (3.1)
Sins of the Prophets/Necroids/Imperial RS System Scale GS Pa (which is what this mod seems to show up as in the launcher, for some reason)

The patch is showing game version 3.0.2, which would make sense given it was last updated May 5th.

All that said, every issue I mentioned remains. The only exception is ringworld segments being the correct size. Seems that specific problem might have been an unrelated compatibility issue. But everything else still seems to be there.
Netist 18 Sep, 2021 @ 8:16pm
Nope, I'm definitely using this patch, and I actually completely wiped and reinstalled all my mods on the 15th after 3.1 dropped. I'll try reinstalling again, but I'm skeptical that it'll do anything. Have you tried it on 3.1?
PiFi  [author] 18 Sep, 2021 @ 6:56pm
@Netist I think your version of the mod might be outdated, as I personally fixed the Yggdrasil in the previous version, and helped in testing the scaling on some of the other structures. Besides the interstellar habitat issue (which we couldn't find why it was bugging out yet), none of those are supposed to be in the game. Could you un- and resubscribe the mod to check if things still malfunction? It is often a good way forcibly update mods, especially when everyone is doing hotfixes.

Either that, or you might be using the other Real Space-Giga patch rather than this one, as it originally had these issues a while ago.
Netist 18 Sep, 2021 @ 3:28pm
I can't say 100% for sure if it's simply an issue with this patch, but using it on 3.1, I've noticed several things seem to be broken. Orbital Arcologies seem to disappear after finishing construction. Ringworld habitable segments seem to be far too small. Larger ringworlds seem to be the correct size, but with a lot of clipping. The rings of the Macroatmospheric Stabilizer are at the correct distance, but have incorrect scaling. I also seem to be unable to build Yggdrasils. SUCC seems to be far to small. Habitable segments on interstellar habitats are very broken as well. I'm just going through spawning structures as I'm writing this, and it's becoming clear that they're more broken than not. I'm not using NSC, so it's not that. Using SOTP as my shipset too.

Anyway, I hope you haven't stepped away from modding, and get a chance to update this. Thanks in advance.
PiFi  [author] 9 Aug, 2021 @ 3:50am
Well, ringworlds are affected by the shipset you use (every shipset has its own ringworlds), so for rescaling they would have to be added with new scales to the code as well. And there's already enough hassle with figuring out for existing issues if this patch mod is imperfect, the original mods have flaws, or the launcher mod manager is an arse. Because all three of those have been the case.
I can tell you that by forcing this mod's rules with Irony mod manager, certain issues just disappear, but since the guide's a bit outdated that'll take someone with more experience to get through.
Vyserion 9 Aug, 2021 @ 2:14am
Thanks for this mod. Kinda annoying that NSC breaks the ringworlds though, especially since it has not much to do with megastructures.
Herwig 26 Jul, 2021 @ 12:42pm
My matter decrompresor look far away from the black hole, idk if is because i have the ships scale or the system scale
IndyTheCommando 3 Jul, 2021 @ 8:49am
All good, dude. No worries.
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 3 Jul, 2021 @ 7:15am
Indy I haven't tried. Life's been very busy lately. I apologize for the inconvenience
IndyTheCommando 2 Jul, 2021 @ 11:51am
Do we have to be subscribed to Gigastructural Engineering for this to work? Or can we run this with only Real Space?
抹茶千层 29 Jun, 2021 @ 9:51pm
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Black.Panther 23 Jun, 2021 @ 7:48am
@Frenchiest Fry So appreciated for this mod and your works. Thanks always and stay safe!
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 9 Jun, 2021 @ 3:40am
Also going to try and fix a couple of the things mentioned. starting on an upward trend with my health issues just need to sort out a few things and hoping to make an update this weekend. I appreciate everyone's understanding.
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 9 Jun, 2021 @ 3:39am
Originally I was going to include it; but since im mostly new to this and then everything that started happening in my life i stopped. Mostly due to some of the new ships not recognizing a bunch of components from ACOT ect ect.
Tailred 8 Jun, 2021 @ 7:14am
Aha, that would explain it. Alright, good to know at least where the issue is xD Thanks so much though!
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 8 Jun, 2021 @ 4:12am
ah; this doesnt support NSC; thats probably the cause.
Tailred 4 Jun, 2021 @ 6:46pm
I'm not too sure since some of the ships still follow the UNSC shipset for the NSC ships, while the normal ships follow the ZOFE shipset. Issue happened before the ZOFE tech though.
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 4 Jun, 2021 @ 5:13pm
And the issue happened with both UNSC ships and ZOFEs ships? or only ZOFEs ships?
Tailred 4 Jun, 2021 @ 4:38am
The shipset got replaced by ZOFE's question of style if that causes any issues but before that it was the SotP UNSC ships that I was using.
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 2 Jun, 2021 @ 10:18am
what shipset are you using?
Tailred 2 Jun, 2021 @ 5:09am
Do you know why I'm getting this weird look for the titanic and beyond ringworlds? Like the scaling isn't done right. I'm pretty sure it's caused by another mod in conflict but not 100% sure. Could ACOT or ZOFE cause this issue?

Sometimes regular stars appear massive (like G and F, for example). Not sure why, but I seem to encounter such instances more often lately. Boggles my mind how this is possible though.
LouIdZarcs 26 May, 2021 @ 6:55am
thank u for your work dude
PiFi  [author] 24 May, 2021 @ 2:03pm
The interstellar ringworld textures seem to be way too large again
Valdorel 24 May, 2021 @ 12:07pm
Somethings gone wrong with the larger ringworlds. The frame of each step is fine, but once you build the habitable sections on the frame they disconnect again.
Lavie 24 May, 2021 @ 2:33am
The "light" come out from birch world and its shell is detached. It should come out from the rune-like things on the birch shell
Chaddeus 22 May, 2021 @ 1:32pm
This is exactly what I need! Thanks for the fix!
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 22 May, 2021 @ 9:23am
I will when I can I apologize; going through some medical issues. What exactly is broken that I need to look at?
少女与OGAS 22 May, 2021 @ 6:39am
please update,thank you.
Lavie 18 May, 2021 @ 3:20am
The birch world light is not attached to its shell
Rio 14 May, 2021 @ 12:48pm
Thanks for the mod.
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 13 May, 2021 @ 2:30pm
I will just going through some medical stuff now so it's taking longer to get to
GriffinIsHere 13 May, 2021 @ 7:11am
Thank you so much for this. Hopefully you can keep it going!
Frenchiest Fry  [author] 5 May, 2021 @ 6:11am
Super and Hyper Giants will always cause problems with RS:SS. Unless I recode a bunch of stuff It'll either look stupid for normal/small sized or super/giant sized.
