If you put it in the custom folder it probably won't do that, but I'm not 100% sure.
Now that you've mentioned it, I did subscribe to the 'Corrected and Improved Hitboxes' workshop mod a while ago. I've just unsubscribed the hitbox mod, and gave another try and yeah, I can actually see that the 'classic' model for the Alien Slaves are showing up again. Thanks for that.
Sorry for the confusion though, I thought it that it would be a problem concerning pre-loading Steam Workshop content for Black Mesa Source.
Tried the workshop subscription, as well as manually installing the classic Alien Slave model onto the custom folder, but even by doing that, the default HL2 model for the Alien Slaves is still being used. Although when gibbing an Alien Slave, the giblets at least resemble the classic model.
I notice the same thing with many other npc skin/model changes from the workshop, for all NPCs but vorts especially - frequently, the workshop skins only load after a map transition but not from a save or a new game.
Keep in mind that you only need to do this if you want to use the custom folder instead of just subscribing normally.
Also if you're using the custom folder make sure you've added it to the gameinfo.txt file since the game's last update. I always forget to do that.
All of the other models work fine, it just seems this one won't, tried in both Xen and non Xen maps too.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
