I don't know why that happens.

If you put it in the custom folder it probably won't do that, but I'm not 100% sure.
XlythonBlake 2 sep, 2021 @ 0:33
in the lambda copse level, the vortigaunt become normal black mesa vortigaunt. But in previous level, the mod worked. Can you explain this please?

To 'Brain Dead',

Now that you've mentioned it, I did subscribe to the 'Corrected and Improved Hitboxes' workshop mod a while ago. I've just unsubscribed the hitbox mod, and gave another try and yeah, I can actually see that the 'classic' model for the Alien Slaves are showing up again. Thanks for that.

Sorry for the confusion though, I thought it that it would be a problem concerning pre-loading Steam Workshop content for Black Mesa Source.
Brain Dead  [skapare] 3 jul, 2020 @ 19:54
Are you using a hitbox mod or anything like that?
CyRaX-494 2 jul, 2020 @ 18:24
To 'Brain Dead',

Tried the workshop subscription, as well as manually installing the classic Alien Slave model onto the custom folder, but even by doing that, the default HL2 model for the Alien Slaves is still being used. Although when gibbing an Alien Slave, the giblets at least resemble the classic model.

Makes the Vorts look more of an alien threat. I like it.

as in "1.0 fix"
Brain Dead  [skapare] 12 mar, 2020 @ 0:52
It's already updated.
Crowbar_XL 11 mar, 2020 @ 6:38
Hey I'm wondering does this need an update for the dodge mechanic for vorts in 1.0 update
ChadScript 8 mar, 2020 @ 13:48
I hope this gets updated soon
Desperado 3 mar, 2020 @ 22:24
@ANueUtsuho
I notice the same thing with many other npc skin/model changes from the workshop, for all NPCs but vorts especially - frequently, the workshop skins only load after a map transition but not from a save or a new game.
ANueUtsuho 1 mar, 2020 @ 15:26
It doesn't seem to work as of today's update. I tried restarting the map and everything but it still just uses the HL2 Vortigaunt
Seeker of Knowledge 6 feb, 2020 @ 23:28
Thanks, finally got it to work.
Brain Dead  [skapare] 4 feb, 2020 @ 23:04
This guide should show you what to do. -> Setting up a "Custom" Folder

Keep in mind that you only need to do this if you want to use the custom folder instead of just subscribing normally.
Seeker of Knowledge 2 feb, 2020 @ 5:16
What do you add to the gameinfo.txt to make it work?
Willow 20 dec, 2019 @ 21:32
Aha, thank you! I forgot to change the gameinfo.txt.
Brain Dead  [skapare] 20 dec, 2019 @ 20:18
That's weird. It's still working for me. Maybe unsubscribe and resubscribe to download it again.

Also if you're using the custom folder make sure you've added it to the gameinfo.txt file since the game's last update. I always forget to do that.
Willow 20 dec, 2019 @ 17:24
Edit, tried both of your options, moving it to the Custom folder didn't seem to help either.
All of the other models work fine, it just seems this one won't, tried in both Xen and non Xen maps too.
Brain Dead  [skapare] 19 dec, 2019 @ 19:39
Sometimes workshop mods take some time to load when you start up the game. I'm pretty sure everything in the custom folder will work instantly though, so if you're not already using the custom folder, that might help.
Willow 19 dec, 2019 @ 17:24
Just loaded into Interloper, got the rest of your models, Grunts show up fine but these won't.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Wildshot 7 okt, 2019 @ 22:51
fr awesome!
Crowbar_XL 3 okt, 2019 @ 20:28
Thanks for updating it quickly dude
Brain Dead  [skapare] 3 okt, 2019 @ 12:56
It should work now.
Wildshot 1 okt, 2019 @ 6:25
not working as of interloper :( pls fix
Masonfx 4 aug, 2019 @ 11:52
why are them shoulders so T H I C C
ANueUtsuho 8 jul, 2019 @ 14:38
I hope to see an Alien Grunt with its big sharp teeth again. They have flat human teeth now and basically that's one of the only downgrades this remake has.
1v4n94 29 jun, 2019 @ 19:45
yeah... it's a gameplay feature. it's intended, and it's apparently impossible to change it: https://sp.zhabite.com/app/362890/discussions/0/1643167006260866242/#c1643167006260921782

@altoids You do realize he's not the one responsible for that trash ass feature, right?
GooseJelly 24 jun, 2019 @ 23:45
Would it be possible for you to make a Classic style Ichthyosaur with goofy front teeth and dumb buggy eyes and everything?

god the eye glow is terrible, please tone it down significantly.

Could you do a version that is the HL2 vortigaunt, but with these shackles?
Sirbearasrasararay 15 jun, 2019 @ 15:43
Good job
Col. Caboose 14 jun, 2019 @ 18:03
almost looks like the dreamcast vortigaunt
Wildshot 12 jun, 2019 @ 19:27
This is the best one you've done. This looks so good in game it puts Black Mesa's to shame. You should do the Classic Zombie next. I miss the giant shoulders that made them look meatier. And maybe even a slightly visible skull underneath the crab like it was originally? Could be tight. You should maybe even try to do a really good HECU to replace Romankas, but that's optionally. You've provided a hell of a service here. This and Nostalgia pack really makes me feel like I'm playing Half Life HD rather than Black Mesa, the mod. Keep up the flawless work man!
Narcisist 12 jun, 2019 @ 1:31
It looks awesome. Love the red eye. As for the arms? I don't think anyone could say they are buff. They look about 13 inches to me. Purrr-fect :)
J. Rush 11 jun, 2019 @ 14:07
Woah, he looks cool!
1v4n94 11 jun, 2019 @ 7:48
@Hermann, to make both Black Mesa and Half-Life 2 share consistency, you can use either of these:

This model but for Half-Life 2: https://gamebanana.com/wips/50199
Half-Life 2-ish version of this mod: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=482923027
