T2 Military - Ship and Station Upgrades

Description
Updated for 2.6+ - Adds additonal sections and uprades for vanilla ships and defense platforms

2.7 Changes
  • Marauder: Provides flat hull health instead of a percentage. Decreased Armor and Shield bonus to 25% from 50%
2.6 Changes
  • Battleship Bow X1 upgrade no longer gets 2 medium slots due to needing custom turret locators, instead gets a hangar slot with Hangar bay Expansions
  • The extra Titan sections are functional now and follow a similar tech tree to the other ship types
  • Disabled Energy and Tachyon Spears for now, as might make them a sub-mod
  • Re-enabled the hull health repeatable tech
  • Defense Augments and all further augments provide 10% hull. Passive Defenses and Specialisations provide power for non-Juggernaut ships.
  • Juggernauts and Defense Platforms have the Passive Defense augment set
  • Revived Megafortifications with some changes. Defense Platforms now start with 2 sections and gain an additional 2 sections and a Specialisation augment with Megafortifications.
  • All rare techs in the mod (T5 passive augments and Specialisations) now benefit from the weight modifier from Technological Ascendancy

Ship Upgrades
For each ship size, there in now an upgrade tree, providing things like more slots on sections, or various buffs.

Once a ship size is unlocked, the tech for a Design Overhaul can pulled, providing additional slots in the form of new sections for ships. For each ship type, the additions are:
  • Corvettes gain an S weapon, S Utility and Auxillary slot
  • Destroyer Bows gain an M weapon (or 2 S weapons if the section didn't have an M weapon), and an M utiltiy
  • Desroyer Sterns gain an S weapon and an Auxillary slot
  • Cruiser Bows and Mids gain an M weapon (or 2 S weapons if the section didn't have an M weapon), and an M utiltiy
  • Cruiser Sterns gain an Auxillary
  • Battleship Bows and Mids gain an L weapon (or 2 M weapons if the section didn't have an L weapon), and an L utiltiy
  • Battleship Sterns gain an Auxillary
  • Titan Mid and Stern gains an L weapon. All slots gain either an L utility or an Auxillary slot.

After the Design Overhaul tech, two new trees become available: Defense Augments, and a second tech unlocking a new section for Corvettes through Titans. Respectively, the techs are:
  • Prototype Weapons Platform unlocks Corvette L1S1 or Destroyer Bow X1 (the tech for destroyers requires any X weapon)
  • Hangar Bay Expansion provide all Cruiser or Battleship Mids a hangar slot, and Titan Mid 3 hangar slots. Battleship Hangar and XL1 bows also gains a hangar slot.

Megafortifications
Megafortifications is a set of upgrades specifically for Defense Platforms that can be unlocked in two ways. It will normally appear once Citadels and Improved Structural Integrity are researched, but can be researched early if Eternal Vigilance is taken. Megafortifications add an additional two sections to Defense Platforms, making them like Defense Stations from previous versions of the game. A Megafortifications augment is also unlcoked providing +5000 Hull Health and +100% Shield and Armor Health.

Augments
As mentioned above, ships now have Augment slots, the first of which is unlocked by the respective Defense Augmentations tech. This basic augment provides a 10% buff to shield and armor health. This augment can be specialised further by providing passive shields or armor to the ship, equal to a fraction of the base hull. Each path initially requires T2 of the respective defense (Deflectors or Ceramo-Metal Armor), but the two paths are mutually exclusive for each ship type, and can be upgraded again upon researching T5 of the respective defence (Hyper Shields or Neutronium Armor).
  • Defense Augment: +10% Shield Health, +10% Armor Health, +10% Hull Health
  • Passive Deflector: + 100/266/600/1000/3333/15000 Shield Health, +15% Shield Health, +10% Armor Health, +10% Hull Health
  • Passive Hyper Shield: +200/532/1200/2000/6666/30000 Shield Health, +20% Shield Health, +10% Armor Health, +10% Hull Health
  • High Density Framing: +1/3 of base hull as Armor Health, +10% Shield Health, +50% Armor Health, +10% Hull Health
  • Neutronium Laced Framing: +2/3 of base hull as Armor Health, +10% Shield Health, +20% Armor Health, +10% Hull Health

Researching both the second section upgrade and a ships Defense Augment unlocks Specialisation Augments. These specialisations are mutually exclusive and provide large buffs to 3 to 5 stats on a ship. If a passive health augment is unlocked, these buffs will stack with them (i.e they unlock a new augment with combinations of both). Corvette specialisations are unlocked at Tier 3, Destroyers at Tier 4, and Cruisers and Battleships at Tier 5.

  • Interceptor Corvettes are designed to find fleets and keep them in place, gaining +50% Disengagement Chance, +1 Sensor Range, +50% Sublight Speed, +10 Base Evasion
  • Swarmer Corvette augments are deisgned to help them apply their damage to fleets, gaining +20% Sublight Speed, +20 Tracking and Hit Chance, +50% Hull Strength
  • Escort Destroyer augments are designed to help them screen damage from larger ships, gaining +15 Base Evasion, +10 Tracking, +20% Sublight Speed, +25% Armor and Shield Health
  • Striker Destroyer augments are designed to increase their firepower, providing +20% Weapon Damage, +20% Fire Rate, +50% Weapon Range
  • Heavy Escort Cruiser augments and a larger version of Escort augments, providing +10 Base Evasion, +25% Weapon Range, +20% Sublight Speed, +20% Armor and Shield Health
  • Swarmguard Cruiser augments focus on using Strike Craft and Small Weapons to fight smaller ships, providing +25% Strike Craft Damage and Speed, +20% Fire Rate, +25 Tracking and Hit Chance
  • Marauder Battleship augments focus on heightening survivability of battlships, providing +3000 Hull Health, +25% Armor and Shield Health, +2% Hull, Armor and Shield Daily Regen
  • Dreadnought Battleship augments focus on heightening firepower of battleships, providing +20% Damage, +20% Fire Rate, +15 Tracking and Hit Chance, +50% Weapon Range
  • Megafortifications augment increases Defense Platform Health significantly, providing +5000 Hull Health and +100% Shield and Armor Health.

Despite being mutually exclusive to research, all specialisations and passive defence augments are able to be reverse engineered.

I guess this is an Old mod and will not be updated. Also, theres a conflict mod that is preventing the A>I to build ships.

Will this ever be updated? It seems to work fine without update, but still.

This and NSC functionally conflicted - this created augments and NSC created behavior using ONE SAME SLOT on ship. For my nooby eyes that not patch-able.

This mod overwrites some stuff from the latest NSC, preventing the use of its combat behaviors. Do you think you could look into compatibility? I really like the options this mod gives.

Sounds good. I did start a new game with it active and I have at least had the first tech to upgrade corvettes show up.

It should still work for 2.8 but I haven't really wanted to work on it for a long time since its basically complete at this point honestly.

Took a break from Stellaris for a while and back again, checking if mods I like work with the latest version. Does this work fine with 2.8? There haven't been any comments for 9 months.

I disabled the techs for spears for now while I decide what to do with them. They're still there, but just have a weight of 0.

did you delete the partical spear / the tachion spear?
