T2 Military - Ship and Station Sections

Description
Made for 2.2 to 2.5 - 2.6 version here : https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2035323187
Adds additonal sections for ships and stations, and an energy equivelent to Kinetic Battery, Energy Spears.

2.2.3/2.2.4 Changes
  • The update for the mod is almost fully complete, But is in a playable state, and for now only contains the planned set upgrades for Corvettes through Battleships (Titan sections are buggy at the moment, but they still get the basic augments other ships got). Defense Stations coming at a later date when I finish their new tech tree. If there is a need for it, I have the previous version backed up for use.
  • Overhauled the upgrade process for each ship type. It no longer unlocks everything through a single tech, rather having an upgrade tree for each ship type.
  • Due to some of the upgrades needing to add bonuses for single ship types that I couldn't do without it upgrading everything (i.e. Shield/Armor Health), the mod now overwrites the entries for Corvettes through Titans in 00_ship_sizes to have an additional required component.
  • To add bonuses to each ship size, all military ships now have an Augmentation slot.
  • Escort and Marauder optimizations have been rolled into the new Augment system, and equivelents to their sections are unlocked through upgrade techs.

Ship Upgrades
For each ship size, there in now an upgrade tree, providing things like more slots on sections, or various buffs.

Once a ship size is unlocked, the tech for a Design Overhaul can pulled, providing additional slots in the form of new sections for ships. For each ship type, the additions are:
  • Corvettes gain an S weapon, S Utility and Auxillary slot
  • Destroyer Bows gain an M weapon (or 2 S weapons if the section didn't have an M weapon), and an M utiltiy
  • Desroyer Sterns gain an S weapon and an Auxillary slot
  • Cruiser Bows and Mids gain an M weapon (or 2 S weapons if the section didn't have an M weapon), and an M utiltiy
  • Cruiser Sterns gain an Auxillary
  • Battleship Bows and Mids gain an L weapon (or 2 M weapons if the section didn't have an L weapon), and an L utiltiy
  • Battleship Sterns gain an Auxillary

After the Design Overhaul tech, two new trees become available: Defense Augmentations (more below in Augmentations), and a second tech unlocking a new section for Corvettes and Destroyers, and Mid Hangar slots for Cruisers and Battleships. Respectively, the techs are:
  • Prototype Weapons Platform unlocks Corvette L1S1 or Destroyer Bow X1 (the tech requires an X weapon)
  • Hangar Bay Expansion provide all Cruiser or Battleship Mids a hangar slot. Battleship Hangar Bow also gains a hangar slot.

Augmentations
As mentioned above, ships now have Augment slots, the first of which is unlocked by the respective Defense Augmentations tech. This basic augment provides a 10% buff to shield and armor health. This augment can be specialised further by providing passive shields or armor to the ship, equal to a fraction of the base hull. Each path intially requires T2 of the respective defense (Deflectors or Ceramo-Metal Armor), but the two paths are mutually exclusive for each ship type, and can be upgraded again upon researching T5 of the respective defense (Hyper Shields or Neutronium Armor). For now, Titan Defense Augment is unlocked from having Titans rather than Titan Design Overhaul, due to bugs with Titan R sections.

  • Defense Augment: +10% Shield Health, +10% Armor Health
  • Passive Deflector: +1/3 of base hull (100,266,600,1000,3333) as Shield Health, +15% Shield Health, +10% Armor Health
  • Passive Hyper Shield: +2/3 of base hull (200,532,1200,2000,6666) as Shield Health, +20% Shield Health, +10% Armor Health
  • High Density Framing: +1/3 of base hull as Armor Health, +10% Shield Health, +50% Armor Health
  • Neutronium Laced Framing: +2/3 of base hull as Armor Health, +10% Shield Health, +20% Armor Health

Researching both the second section upgrade and a ships Defense Augment unlocks Specialisation Augments. These specialisations are mutually exclusive and provide large buffs to 3 to 5 stats on a ship. If a passive health augment is unlocked, these buffs will stack with them (i.e they unlock a new augment with combinations of both). Corvette specialisations are unlocked at Tier 3, Destroyers at Tier 4, and Cruisers and Battleships at Tier 5.

  • Interceptor Corvettes are designed to find fleets and keep them in place, gaining +50% Disengagement Chance, +1 Sensor Range, +50% Sublight Speed, +10 Base Evasion
  • Swarmer Corvette augments are deisgned to help them apply their damage to fleets, gaining +20% Sublight Speed, +20 Tracking and Hit Chance, +50% Hull Strength
  • Escort Destroyer augments are designed to help them screen damage from larger ships, gaining +15 Base Evasion, +10 Tracking, +20% Sublight Speed, +25% Armor and Shield Health
  • Striker Destroyer augments are designed to increase their firepower, providing +20% Weapon Damage, +20% Fire Rate, +50% Weapon Range
  • Heavy Escort Cruiser augments and a larger version of Escort augments, providing +10 Base Evasion, +25% Weapon Range, +20% Sublight Speed, +20% Armor and Shield Health
  • Swarmguard Cruiser augments focus on using Strike Craft and Small Weapons to fight smaller ships, providing +25% Strike Craft Damage and Speed, +20% Fire Rate, +25 Tracking and Hit Chance
  • Marauder Battleship augments focus on heightening survivability of battlships, providing +100% Hull Health, +50% Armor and Shield Health, +2% Hull, Armor and Shield Daily Regen
  • Dreadnought Battleship augments focus on heightening firepower of battleships, providing +20% Damage, +20% Fire Rate, +15 Tracking and Hit Chance, +50% Weapon Range

Despite being mutually exclusive to research, all specialisations are able to be reverse engineered.

For now, Titans only have the basic set of augments, and Defense Staions lack them while their tech tree isn't final.

Energy Spears
An energy equivelent to Kinetic Battery/Artillery. The first tier, Particle Spear, requires X-ray Lasers to be researched first. The second tier, Tachyon Spear, requires Particle Spears to be researched. These only fit on L weapon slots and have similar stats to Kinetic Battery/Artillery.

Master Compatibility Patch
Use regular patch unless using Battleship Brainstorm. Using both will cause the regular to be active and said battleships won't have a special slot.

Please let me know here if anything needs adding to the patch.

Just incase anyone sees this as I can't update this particular mod thanks to the Paradox launcher, I have had to create a new workshop item for 2.6 that I will hopefully be updating as I get back into modding Stellaris, since Federations has gotten me back into the game.

2.6 version is here: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2035323187

Shame this seems dead. This was my absolute favorite ship mod, way over NSC2 or Tactical Ship Sections. Sadly it doesn't seem likely that it'll work with 2.6, given the section changes.

Dead?

I seem to run into a bug. Wanting to save my corvette design, it says it's missing a component, basically the augment. But when I try to select it, it doesn't accept it and still stays at nothing chosen.

Working great thanks for the update.

I should be free again to start working on this mod again next week. Don't really have the time at the moment to figure out the problem (or what paradox might have changed with game's files).

Something happened and all the shield and swarm componants have disappeared completely bugging all my fleets

Everything should still work, but I can't be certain until I get a chance to play with 2.3

Does this still work in 2.3?
