The game has it's ups and downs but it's very clear to me that absolutely no one on quality assurance tested the shivering isles. It is a broken buggy mess with multiple mapping errors and enemies that can't even fight back.

Like everyone else, I can't migrate my account because someone dropped money on me during the modding chaos that all public servers went through. I'm sticking with legacy, there's no way I'm replaying whole months of grind just to earn things I already had.

For everyone complementing that Rockstar gave this update out for free, no, it's not free. Rockstar really wants you to re-do the entirety of your progress with a measly 4 Million dollar compensation offer. That's a cost of months of your life to grind, and also if you're a whale, money out of your real bank account to fund recovering all your progress which is ridiculous. They're really pushing old players who have already funded this game and it's online mode thousands of times over into paying more money because they're stingy about having a couple money loaded freaks in their new rendition of a game that didn't need an "enchanced edition"

What a joke.

Deleted all my progress even though I transferred my account. I've been playing since launch and am so disappointed.

I feel like this game is a lot more fair than others that have come before it. It might have a giant cash shop ready for you to spend money, but you don't really ever feel like you're hitting any physical wall that you cannot cross. If you do hit a wall, you can just use one of the many codes the developers push out on a weekly basis to get over the slump without having to drop a dime into the game. If not, it's as simple as doing your dailies and moving on with your day after that.

The character design is done really well, my only gripe is that they decided to use AI art in order to pad out the rewards system when I feel less in house drawn stuff would look significantly better and make more contextual sense when utilized in visual novel style scenes.

I also really wish that the collection system had an option to view any skin/clothing item/character in a full-screen mode and to be able to zoom them in and out to see all the details. This is a feature that a lot of other gacha games have that I really like.

There's a lot of automated systems that you will eventually come to earn that make the game a breeze to get through in an hour, so if you stick with it the game only actually gets easier as you play.

I'd say, give it a play. You don't have to drop your entire wallet on it to be happy, and if you don't like it, at the end of the day, you lose nothing to try it. If you do like dropping your wallet into a game like this, you'll get far pretty fast and give the developers a reason to push more content out quicker. Regardless, it's a free to play gacha game, what you get is what you get.

A lot of people are willing to give this game a positive review but I feel like no one is really willing to be critical of the game, so I'll do it and hope the developer sees this and understands there needs to be some improvements in this game.

From my perspective, I played this game with myself and one other player, so maybe I wasn't experiencing the game at it's best (with four people instead of just two) but this game is brutally difficult.

Here's what I think needs to change.
1. The cost of sprinting should be either stamina based or non-existent. It is incredibly frustrating to watch your points be drained because the monster is significantly faster than you. At the end of the day, if you're killed by the monster you're going to lose your points anyway, so why make it even more unforgiving to try and survive?

2. There shouldn't be ANY point cost to close the safe room door. The monster AI likes to camp the door in certain situations. This gets frustrating because the door is your only means of defense, but like sprinting, drains your points, and if you have none, good freaking luck.

3. The door should always be operable, regardless of whether all players are in the safe room or not. The amount of times we died because the safe room wasn't a viable option was freaking ridiculous. I can't imagine four players trying to play together and one trying to be the lookout.

4. Threats shouldn't be able to wander into the safe room, I was killed on lookout because of "deadly footsteps" are you kidding me? By the time I realized he was a danger, he was already in the safe room and killed me once I left the terminal to examine my surroundings. At least make some sort of warning system that sounds an alarm when something is in proxy of the safe-room, or don't allow baby threats to get into the room.

5. Everything one shots you, regardless of whether it's the big bad monster, or the spooky footsteps. There's no forgiveness in getting hit which can be found in other games like Lethal Company.

6. The quota amount, especially for two players is WAY TOO HIGH. 500 points between two hundred players CAN be achieved, if neither of them manage to die in the first level which was basically impossible. Cut the quota cost in half, it's way too high when just starting out.

7. Similar to the cost of quota, the cost of a dead body is way too high compared to how little points you can get in a level.
The cost of a body is WAY too high. -100 points because I had no points left and had to leave my friend behind while the AI was chasing me into the safe room? Come on man, are you kidding me?

8. The AI never gets confused, once it has tracked you, it beelines towards you even if it crashes into a wall and you get out of eyesight. I feel like it needs to be able to lose track of you and wander around a bit instead of always seeming to know where you are.

9. Players shouldn't turn into skin-walkers. There's already enough threats working against you in each level, why add one that literally beelines towards the alive players and kills them off?

10. Oh my god the time limits, why? Yes, I understand Lethal Company has a time limit, but this is a video game based world. The threats are more than enough to put an end to the adventure that has overstayed its welcome, believe me, we often died before the time limit was even up. It is so unnecessary when everything else is already working against you whether it be way points work, skin-walkers, or the monster itself. Either get rid of the time-limit or extend it from abysmally low four minutes to ten.

I hate to not recommend this game, I think the premise is really workable and cool, but I absolutely dislike a lot about this game at it's current state. Although I am the second negative review to be made for it, I will gladly change my review if I see changes made that enhance the experience rather than detract from it.

At the current moment however, unless you have FOUR friends who are committed to playing this game with you and learning the ins and outs of things (which we were) then I would recommend waiting until it's patched to be friendlier to the single-player or two-player experience. As it stands right now, it is brutal to even try to get through this game.

A game that has proven no matter how many IP's it might gobble up, that it sucks and hasn't changed much from the day it was launched.

Man, I really used to like this game a lot, but after seeing the various horror stories of how unsocial it has grown, I'd recommend anyone who wants to buy it to stay away.

The moderation team for this game loves to ban people who don't agree with their political ideology. Even if you do agree with it, there's a group going around that loves to twist your words so that you're banned anyway. This game could have been a VR Chat killer, but with slow updates that look good on paper, yet accomplish nothing, and trigger happy admins and troll-type people who love to get people they don't agree with banned from their "safe space" I don't think there's any chance of that happening anymore.

Don't believe me? Tower Unite bans used to be public, until PixelTail realized that the public could see the TYPES of people that were being banned, most of which who openly complained about the above sentiment. This group that did all the work in delivering a ban-list so that people could understand WHY they were banned was quickly shut down.

Heck, one of them doesn't even play the game. yet was banned anyway?

After seeing what this game has become and how much of an ugly echo-chamber the community itself has devolved into, I'm sad I wasted my money on this experience. Yeah, I've got a couple good memories, but I'll never be able to go back and see them ever again because I like many others probably would get banned.

Save your money, go buy something else. I'd say go play VRChat, but that game too has similarly devolved into an echo-chamber for people who prefer sticking in their own cliche rather than making any actual attempt and fresh and genuine human connections.

It's not fair that we spent money just to lose complete and utter access to a purchased product because ONE PERSON got upset.

I could not be happier to uninstall this piece of garbage game. The ending sucks ass, the gameplay loop is as repetitive and sloggy as it gets and the DLC isn't even multiplayer, what a joke.
