Screw you, it's fun.

Holy christ it's awful.

Has a game breaking bug later on where you have to break a wall with a crowbar, but you can give your crowbar to a hand in an attempt to trick it into thinking it's a leg, if you do this your game is screwed.

Fine game, boring to tears though.

A good game that is pretty heavily reminiscent of the old PS1 survival horror days, a good balance of risk vs reward where you can kill enemies to get money to get more ammo and upgrades or try to avoid them and save every last bullet and scrounge together what you can in the environment.

There's no jumpscares, my biggest complaint is the big bad doll that is supposed to chase you down from room to room randomly, but you could just listen for their specific music, turn around and leave the room, come back in, and they'd be gone. They were never a remote threat.

It's just a fun cute charming little game, it's the kind of game you can just pick up play and put down at any moment.

The Revolver does what it says on the tin, it's a revolver, fine for meme builds.
The shotguns pretty good to me like an upgrade street sweeper if it got incestuously involved with an Izhma.
The hailstorm, my god, that thing literally is like a tsunami of nails and is so accurate it is terrifying.
The tombstone slugs, overpowered and fun as hell, bulldozers basically get pierced by them.

People have been comparing this mostly to fire starter's first day, I have to disagree on it though, you break into the ranch find gun parts assemble stuff but pay attention to the crates you have and haven't looted cause you'll miss one if you're careless. I did find it interesting being able to take an LMG and build it wherever you want too. And unlike fire starter you have 2 things to help move the weaponry this time beyond daisy-chaining bags together, the golf cart, the most lethal thing imaginable that speeds like a sports car, and a zipline.

It's an alright heist, though I notice enemies are either clogged in places, or zerg rushing you, or seemingly appearing from nowhere in some parts. It's an interesting heist.

No I won't discuss the stealth aspect of it, stealth in this game is very painful as is, this map is HUGE, but mostly one floor, I just am personally tired of knowing that so much time is wasted trying to make stealth a choice in the matter, I'd rather have all cylinders firing on the loud front cause that's actually fun.

Also the most important thing, the mission doesn't run like a man that has had their feet beaten with hoses.

The big con, it's not that big really. Actually it's a short romp, the mechanics aren't that deep, you try to stop a line at the correct time to pick pocket. (You can turn it off.)

You aren't playing this game for the gameplay, it's really fun to just treat it more like a short movie, one set in the 90s with a retro vibe, a ton of references, and just some nice simple fun jokes. Sure there are puzzles, you have a lot more opportunities to make money than you think. It's a game that does what it wants to do, give you a simple straight forward plot, and a nice set of characters to enjoy it through and some you meet along the way.

I write this review coincidentally the day after its 1 year anniversary, I really enjoyed every moment of my time with it and laughed more than I expected going in, then again going in I really was not sure what to expect.

This is one of those first person shooters that I really love to see, the kinds that outright drown you in their fabulous design without any hesitation, shame, or second guessing in what they're doing. It's the simple kind of fun that is still decently challenging, and full of tons of references and fun little easter eggs. Fashion Police Squad truly is Fab.

The living definition of a fun short triple A game.
