I like it but I'm still waiting for more content. Right now it's a good game to fill an afternoon but I don't feel like I have the freedom and options to play this for a week yet.

Before anything; READ THE FICTION PRIMER!!
I know, reading is boring, but it fleshes out the game so much it's almost a shame to pay for it and not know the lore.
Here's a little hint to get you started: Humanity never discovered FTL-travel, yet we've conquered the galaxy...

What makes Rimworld so good, for me personally, is the depth it has.
I know of no other games where your colonists can have fingers shot off, broken wrists, etc.
I also know of no other game in which you can harvest organs to implant if your colonist has an old heart!
Diseases, psychological breakdowns, a nice social system, ...

It all adds up to very immersive gameplay, which I happen to like.
It has a large community and a lot of mods, so browse through the workshop a few times in the next few days to add some stuff that you might find usefull to reduce the micromanagement a bit or to add buildings/features. Or visit the nexus(but, since there's a workshop, I'm more lazy than impatient about mods so I'll just browse daily).

It's a good game.

The timers aren't a problem, the shooting through walls and the tongue attack are a result of both how the cover system works and the %-hit-chance-based hit/miss combat stystem.

I understand it feels weird, the first time a tongue pulls your rookie through 2 walls, but that's only because there's line of sight and the attack got had a high enough % to be registered as a hit, resulting in the attack taking place.

Anyway;

I've already had a lot of fun with this game and I'll have a lot more. Some of the negative reviews made me doubt wether or not I'd be wasting money, but I haven't regretted it for a second!
If you liked the previous one, you'll like this one even more ;)

Best citybuilder in years.

Interesting and quite in-depth biome development simulator.
Balance your biome with a wide variety of plants and wildlife, unlock extra segments to expand.
The plants and animals reproduce and spread out over time, keeping the game challenging and interresting to observe.

Experienced one crash, submitted a crash report, and received a reply that the issue had been adressed withing 12 hours. Very good support!
Apparently there will also be a patch later this week with bugfixes and optimalisation!

Edit; Visited the game again after 2 years. The graphics look better than what I remember (especially the purple hue on the water is now gone, so it looks much more like water instead of purple sludge).

Original review stays the same. I didn't spend a lot of time in the game, but have used the option to skip a year quite a lot. I've progressed my original biome further (now at year 60) and started a new biome which is nog in year 25.

It's a fun and simple game. You can hotseat with up to 4 people using the 1-2-3-4 keys.
Playing against the AI isn't very hard though, and there aren't any difficulty settings.
It's free and it's perfect to kill like 15minutes while waiting for dinner or before you have to go somewhere but still want to play something!
