I found the cause of my issue! The game was locking me out of ultra unit sizes which meant the 1.5x mod was null. I had to change the game's preferences.script.txt file's video memory to unlock ultra sizes and play with the bigger units. It appears my device is just a potato.

@Myślenie Sometimes the bonus is a higher cap number, which you cant see on your end. Many of them cost LESS than the standard troops.

The minor faction bonuses were done by someone else. I may or may not get around to changing them all. Right now I am taking a break to just play the game and balance Portugal vs Japanese units (if any more needs to be done).

Also mogami's warrior nuns have name localisation problem or just they don't have name

@Lenny_Froggins I started looking at "superior" units and I want to state my opinion on them. I think they are severly underpowerd (special Amako warrior nuns get only +1 att/def/mor and +2 charge?? and in return for it you get 5 unrest clan-wide) or even Ito teppo kumi is worse than normal one (trade +1 attack for -5 ammo for ranged unit...) . My point is to buff them when they need more investment (eq. special building or prolonged reaserch) and/or give them special abilities which normal ones doesn't have (e.g. Asai yari kumi can disperse which reduces damage from arrows), also special kumi units should be recrutable from castle(e.g. Tsutusi katana kumi, Asai long yari). I just want to make world "superior" make sense and not just equivalent of one level up for unit.

@Drone Operator I am not sure how to affect the chances of bribery, but I agree with you that late game it can be very powerful. Ultimately it is up to the player to decide how they will play, since the AI doesnt seem to bribe much at all. If you play on Legendary you will need to use every trick in the bag, it's brutal.

@Frostyboiis idk man, currently base mod Lanceiros are 80, and 1.5x are 120. I dont get a lot of crashes. The one that I did rarely get, at the end of a siege, turned out to be a Strongholds of the Samurai problem. I really dont see crashes on my end...

@Lenny_Froggins That makes sense, playing as Chosokabe and I suppose with the expanded Japan map that farm income bonus stacks up like crazy. Especially once you conquer the Kinai region that is super dense with provinces containing fertile soil. Not to mention playing Christian and building a church and town watch in nearly every province, so able to jack up taxes to max by this point.

If I had something I could change about the game, I would make metsuke bribes have a more difficult chance of success. When you're making 100k a turn, it's easy to trivialize those massive enemy stack clusters by just paying them off.

Anyways I'm just yapping, still having a blast. Glad you put this together and got me back into this game.

Just reinstalled everything, from shogun 2 to the mods. For whatever reason the units are back to being 225 aand lancieros are 90. I'm very confused why :(

Uhoh lancieros have been 90 since the first time I've commented on this mod, and I've always played with 1.5x . If it was that bad guess i have to completely delete my shogun 2 files, Jesus.

Also, in regards to the deleting of the "user.script" file as you've linked, my files dont have that, just the preferences txt doc. If I may ask, have you not encountered a single crash when sieging/occupying/vassalizing/winning battles etc in testing? The problems I have with this mod might just be an issue on my side

@Frostyboiis I love steam for letting us upload unlimited mods and archiving them for us, but I do wonder how many people are many updates behind. O_O I've been messing with Portugal unit sizes to balance the lack of unit diversity.

If you've been using 1.5x mod and havent seen Lancieros at 120 men until now...you were very far behind in actually having updates installed. Steams fault!

@applejuice un-sub and re-sub to the mod, and clear your user script file https://sp.zhabite.com/app/34330/discussions/0/3835423585504483506/ , and also dont use any castle mods like Strongholds of the Samurai or Master of Sengoku Strategy. I had originally suggested Strongholds of the Samurai but it turns out that was causing crashes.

@Drone Operator Do you have a ton of territories? Are you playing Portugal? Because that is a function of how dense the map is + how growth works in this game. Shogun 2 being relatively simple on the campaign map is part of why I love going back to it, but the game doesnt have a "bloated bureaucracy" system or a currency inflation mechanic for the late game. So the income piles up.

cant play any campaign for very long because eventually at some point it just crashes at turn end any idea what might be causing it?

Quick question, is it normal to be making 110k income by turn 150 on very hard? I don't remember economy being this easy on vanilla, maybe I'm wrong.

AI also seem to be having no problems buildings castles and citadels on almost every province. The only other mods I'm using are purely cosmetic.

Btw, adopting portuguese generals removes their last names (probably to adopt De Sousa's last name?), so although they originally have portuguese names it gets lost.

Just deleted everything in my roaming>TheCreativeAssembly file instead of just scripts because butterfingers, are arquebusiers and piqueros meant to have 300 men the whole time or is that a new update? The numbers on every unit increased like crazy, a single lancieros unit has 120.

Regardless, game is for some reason much smoother now. This mod is peak.

@Bastard tested and it works on my end :shrug:

So the last holy grail of immersion is to get the Portuguese to always have proper Portuguese names, instead of a Portuguese surname as a first name, and a Japanese name for the surname. Fix that and you will enter the pantheon of Gods with Snedeck.

@Gabe If you have Pharaoh: Dynasties, get Radious mod for the base mod and then my battle submod, Killing Blow. It's too bad the battle AI in that is terrible because the combat system I was able to build was A+.

ive got a bug but im not sure if you have a more official place youd like them reported, The warrior side of the tech tree isnt affecting my generals melee attack/defence, armor, or morale as portugal, though it is increasing the charge bonus

@Lenny_Froggins This mod seriously needs its own encyclopedia. The sheer scale of content, from new building trees to unit rosters and everything in between, is insane and I love it. It's massive, it's detailed, and it's exactly the kind of Total War experience I’ve been looking for. Absolute blast to play.

@Myślenie Actually no idea, I dont own that DLC so I have never been able to test that lol. It just is how the original expanded japan modder set it up and Ive trusted it works. Sorry that it doesnt!

@applejuice Ummm, what counts as a skirmisher in Shogun 2 basic? Sounds like an FOTS thing.

hi quick question about unit speed. just wanted to ask how skirmishers speed compares to meele infantry speed? I'm asking because I very much appreciate the retinues that add skirmisher unit speed

It seems vassalizing anything via win siege> vassalize province bugs out the game, my save file is corrupted just from vassalizing Shoni after winning a siege against Sugi. For now I'll play it safe and not vassalize anything, but it seems pretty weird as a bug. Maybe it has a different cause? When i load a save before I vassalize the game plays fine.

@Frostyboiis Huh I thought that was fixed. Will make sure it is fixed. Foot Culverins get 5 more ammo.

@Myślenie Iga Ikki is the Hattori clan in game, and if you dont see a faction in the selection screen, then if you have Rise of the Samurai or whatever you can choose that campaign and it will let you select from the factions that dont show up under the regular campaign start.

NOTICE: I had "Strongholds of the Samurai" as a recommended mod when I first released this, but since then multiple players have claimed that was causing the "crashes after siege battle and corrupts savegame" bug. It also seems to mess with MULTIPLAYER so if you are trying a coop campaign, dont use it.

Is this mod meant to be usable with custom battles? If so, I have a bug (ignore if custom battles arent something you care about). In custom battles for the portuguese faction, hovering over the "Mounted Culverin" (I think, its the foot culverin but black. Has no name in menu) causes the screen to darken.

On a side note, is there any difference between Foot Culverins over Naval Canons? Naval canons seem to unlock earlier and are more accurate.

To everyone asking here about sound issues, there are mods for that. It was the first thing I looked up when I heard Bows having cannon sound effects, and matchlocks having bow sound effects.

It's in there for Shogun 2, about 3/4 of the way from the left to right. Shield is half white and half blue with a crest in the middle.

Huh Ikko Armed Mob got absolutely crushed in a stand up open field fight. Not everything in these games can be quantified with the stats, I have a feeling that they won in your situation because spearman units spread out when they fight, and katanas dont, so your spearmen were funneling themselves into 3 vs 1s at the wall?

IDK but suffice to say: the stats are correct.

I forgot to update the submods. THIS is WHY I dont like making submods btw, because I have to remember to update them. So be thankful I am even willing to make a Sandbox.

@Wolfie that bug is always there since the first few Shogun 2 mods were released. Just use Unofficial Patch 1.7 on workshop, that should help
