@Illyria Thanks for the reply. Now I understand the emphasis of the situation - it's not an active skill (pressing push for a shield) but a passive probability that increases with armor, shield, strength and good weapon skills. It's weird because you really expect to actively block (not push as usual) with your hands too, maybe a few zombies in front of you, but since it doesn't work it's confusing.

hi everyone i solve the swat jacket conflict with the bullet vest, if u want to fix it go to: mods\Illyria_RiotPack _Redux\42\media\scripts\clothing\Swatpack_clothing
and i change the same file in the: \mods\Illyria_RiotPack _Redux\media\scripts\clothing\Swatpack_clothing ... just in case.

Search for item Jacket_Swat line and change BodyLocation = Tshirt, BloodLocation = Shirt, WorldStaticModel = Tshirt_Ground,

2.) In regards to the many clothing items not equipping properly in the wrong slots, looking weird or clipping, etc. Has all already been fixed. Just waiting on B42 stable to upload along with the mod menu, vehicles, frag grenade, etc to upload it all.

No sense in doing a big update before b42 stable, when each hotfix breaks things and everyones saves and have to constantly reupdate and potentially risk people losing their save games, when im attempting to fix things such as armored car windows, reinforced frames, the armor block system.

there is a method to the madness. If you have any more questions regarding how real life military equipment works id be happy to explain.

Get your characters strength up and you wont have any more issues. I always start my characters with lvl 9+ strength and fitness if possible with at least one bonus level into nimble if i can as they are the 3 hardest skills to level and most important at keeping you alive in melee.

@KateTheKatPlays, Yes 90% of what you have stated i have already fixed. As i have said before I'm waiting to update the mod in its entirety when build 42 multiplayer comes out.

1.) As I have personally worn armor in combat Kevlar, Cordura, or Reinforced Nylon in general especially as clothing is NOT light at all if its trying to stop anything above class 3 not to mention the plates inside the carrier you are also wearing.
Plate armor that knights wore is actually significantly lighter than most of what is used in modern day. Modern day armor has to account for not only stopping the bullet but limiting the force damage it does as well. The second time i was shot my plate caught it and it still broke 2 of my ribs.
Modern Tactical shields class 4 and above (Swat Riot shield in mod) weigh in excess of 50+ pounds on one arm. You have to be strong to be in combat. Why do you think soldiers and full time swat teams get paid to do nothing but workout and practice combat tactics.

the fact that the tactical swat pants and boots are opposite sides of the spectrum makes it look rediculous, the pants are chunky, which i really like in my pants, but the boots are built like socks, i literally have to use a 3d shoes mod just to wear something that even remotely fits the size of the combat pants, and the fact there is only a hiked up version limits what you can wear with them without them looking like long shorts

the shield doesnt look right at all, texture wise its fine but the possitioning is wack, when you swing your weapon it is completely out of your hand, when you are ready and idle position its floating above my arm,which i can only assume is for trying to stop it from clipping

im not a modder, i dont know how to fix these problems myself but i can certainly say it bugs me to see it 2/2

i realize that you probably dont have any effect on the mod, and all you did was port it, but i've got a few problems (which sucks because this is the only 'good' swat armor mod

first of all, everything is rediculously heavy, i am somehow encumbered by wearing the clothes and nothing else (that includes a shield and low strength, but thats not the point, its fucking clothing im not in knight armor, and even then considering its weight knight armor *feels* light due to the spread of said weight over the whole body) my homeslice is struggling to walk in this stuff let alone hold his weapon

@Andagor, reposting a previous response i gave to the same question.

it gives an extremely high chance to block zombie attacks if you've been grabbed. You can see the block mechanic in the video above, when grabbed by a zombie and holding a shield, wearing armor or both there is a chance for the attack to be 'blocked'. You will know when it happens as you will see the words blocked appear above your characters head.

This block chance is rolled second when calculating if a zombies attack will damage you, so when grabbed by a zombie this is how your protection rolls:

1.) a. Chance to shove away based on Athletics and Strength
b. Chance to shove away based on weapon skill proficiency.
2.) Chance to block attack with the mechanic in this mod.
3.) Chance for any clothing to absorb the attack with its bite/scratch defense.

I didn't understand how the shield works, I take it in my hands and nothing changes in the mechanics, I push the zombies the same way as with my hands, if I don't do anything the zombies bite - how is it different from pushing with the hand?

@Drumheller, No the shields do not block bullets.This may or may not get added in the future. I personally feel it would make the shields entirely too strong as they already are extremely valuable.

@Isaac Hopkins, I will ask the mod creator if they care about it being ported and can see about doing it in the future but no promises. It would be a far ways out.

@Cieg@ there will be a mod menu that will allow you to turn the weapons/vehicles/armor off depending on what you want out of it. So if you only want the clothes and shields you can turn everything else off and enjoy the content you want.

It's okay, before B42, I used a standalone version of this mod that only added the SWAT clothes and vests. I found the vehicles and weapons kinda broken and outta place, (Yeah i'm not a big fan of Brita's neither), and i don't like the animations they had. So... if you plan to add them in the future as spawnable items both weapons and vehicles. It would be to much to ask a Standalone version for B42 for clothes and vests only? </3

@SDgamer, currently an issue with the swat jacket taking the apron slot on the body instead of TorsoItemExtra. It will be fixed in the next update of the mod, but i am delaying the next update due to 42.2 unstable breaking a few of the fixes i had ready to release. I'm working on this in my free time and I'd rather avoid doing the work thrice over when i could wait for B42 Beta with multiplayer and do one big update then.

I kinda wish there were different color patterns for the bomb suit. Like the usual Green, Navy Blue, Gray, Black, maybe Red kinda like Payday

@Mitchel Vories, Yes this is due to the shield equip slot technically not existing. There is code in in the armor system in this mod that should clear this error as it appears, its an unfortunate byproduct of the shield slot being added as a new clothing equip-able position that the game will always read as an error. I just retested this version on the new update and everything still works fine that should. Let me know if you are having any issues with the swat shield not appearing or this error message not clearing.

Hey buddy -- I know there was the 42.1 update yesterday and you haven't had a chance to yet. But I was looking in the debug log and I found two lines related to this mod. Since I had them identified I figured I'd share the info with you.

@Illyria thanks for the reply and the mod. I'll let you know if I find any in game but it's no issue for me as I added after starting the game and it didn't break for me, I used debug to give myself a couple things and am happy. Not too worried about it being hard to find, I am tweaking settings continuously but have it set up as 0 perishable food, 0.01 fresh food (getting food from killing deer rabbits cows etc) something like 0.2 melee guns ammo (mod makes ammo spawn on zombies at customizable settings) and 3 percent chance of melee weapon on zombie etc.

Clothing is set to I think 0.4 or 0.45 and tends to spawn a lot compared to other potential loot in things like lockers crates etc. Ill let you know if i find any in game but like i said its no issue for me, i was expecting the mod to make the save potentially not work so its all a bonus

@LawBoss, @Rare Endangered Pyro Shark, not being able to find the loot is currently not a issue with the mod itself its with build 42. Most of the swat armor has a higher chance to spawn in police lockers than pencils do in desks. B42 completely ruined the loot tables I highly recommend when starting a game doing custom loot settings. The closest I've personally been able to get to build 41 loot without much effort is setting all loot to the common setting. That should solve your issue, check this video to see a visual representation of the B42 loot table compared to build 41.

hey could you tell me if its just me but i cannot find a SINGLE PIECE OF ARMOR not on zombies police stations i genuinely forgot that i had the mod on when i was playing

Thanks for cool mod, i know it says new save needed but i added it to my ongoing game with tons of mods no issues, used debug to give myself a balaclava and swat mask (-150 C temp), i have corpse sickness off for now, other mods have issues with gas mask as well and this swat one gives the best insulation.

Maybe I wont find zombies or items in the game but adding them with debug after adding to existing save is working fine for me.

@idiot sandvich, yes the swat jacket will be fixed in the next update and will be wearable with the bulletproof vest the original mod had it listed in the apron slot instead of torso extra which is causing the conflict. As for the base game swat vest having the mods textures I'm not sure, there might be some technical debt that is causing it. I will look into it when i get the chance.

hey, if its no trouble when u bring back the guns and throwables could u separate them from the armor and clothing part of the mod? some gun mods tend to break with any gun additions. Like a second togglable mod in the same package so it can be turned on or off in the mod menu?

@Hermann, Yes the police shield doesn't attach to the B42 animation skeleton currently so it just kinda morphs into the center of the body. Its an issue with the animation skeleton we are waiting for indie stone to fix. Nothing currently attaches regardless of what it is. I was able to make the Swat Riot shield work but haven't had luck with much else yet.

I removed the police shield among other things from the loot table, that are not working properly. They are still spawnable, but you shouldnt be able to find them in the game world.

Please view the change notes and the mod description for what is working properly and what isn't.
