it will play the vannila sounds unless you have a legacy addon that overrides that file path.

you need to put it in the garrysmod/sound folder, if you name it something like example.ogg, then you can just enter example.ogg in Sound File field in the settings

for sounds, you just enter the path to the sound file (put it in GarrysMod/garrysmod/sound)
