While I enjoy playing this mod, why jungle? Not exactly a lot of jungle terrain on the Baltic...

This civ has broken two games of mine, midgame. It just closes and there is no way of fixing it :(

I just had a weird experience playing this civ in my last game. All the cities I settled after the capital was invisible. The banner appeared, but no city.
Ghost2070 20 Feb, 2020 @ 12:37pm
Is this still compatible with events and decisions?
paintedweasels 20 Feb, 2020 @ 8:43am
Cool, I always have the 'problem' of my all encompassing territories spreading Eastern Orthodoxy by themselves everywhere, a little stalwart paganism in the woods will help my immersion play out better.
DoloresK 19 Feb, 2020 @ 11:45am
Can't convert Lithuanian cities. Unsubscribing.
Gwyrddu 12 Aug, 2019 @ 3:47pm
This seems like a cool concept, but unfortunately Lithuania is causing a CTD when I even attempt to load this mod. Not sure what the issue is, but JFD's other civs are definitely more stable than this one.
The World is a Sandbox 8 Jan, 2018 @ 11:57pm
If used as an AI opponent, this Civ will resist all attempts at converting its cities to any religion (it always reverts to its pantheon belief). That can pose a problem since the other AI Civs can't recognize that and will exhaust themselves sending waves of missionaries for no appreciable benefit. Other than that, an enjoyable opponent in the hands of the AI, and no bugs to the very end (compatible with CBP, which I used).

Ok, I found out that the sacred grove is the source of my problem. To be honest, it sucks not being able to spread Romuva in your cities, after founding it.
dabutormu 29 Dec, 2017 @ 12:28pm
I think I don't get something. I found a religion somewhere in the classical era, but it's nowhere in any of my cities. There is just a pantheon belief. When I buy a great prophet he can convert whole population of a city, but in the next turn it dissapears and goes back to just pantheon belief. Is that the intent of this mod or is it just a bug?
Derriphan 7 Aug, 2017 @ 6:47pm
So, it says it supports the Ethnic Units, yet when I am playing Lithuania all the units are vanilla, am I missing something?
Norton 2 Jun, 2017 @ 10:49am
@Undead Jed It was updated but I don't remember if that was changed or not.
Undead Jed 2 Jun, 2017 @ 10:42am
Am I missing something? Building the Sacred Grove didn't claim any forest tiles at all. And pretty much every tile within three hexes of the city was forest.
Machina 23 Oct, 2016 @ 1:13am
I REAAALLY hope you will remake this mod for Civ VI !!! i loved it in civ V
2Pac Alive in Serbia 25 Jun, 2016 @ 8:46am
Tbh, if Lithuania gains Pantheon bonuses, you shouldn't be able to found a religion. Instead, maybe double the bonuses and score from pantheons, and maybe a replacement for the Great Prophet.

i have a question... this is my first mod and when I save a game and try to load the next day all I get is runtime errors and cannot load it (either through saved game or saved autosaves. Is this a mod thing?

I wish there was a mod that included The Teutons. The State of the Teutonic Order would be really cool I think.

I´m using this mod with R.E.D. modpack and the Lithuanian samogitian warrior appers in the "normal" civ size. Is it possible to shrink them as well? :) Thanks for an awesome mod!

Hello guy. Can you change the name of king GDL and other cities? Gedinias -> Gedimin. Cities: Vilna, Grodna, Polatsk, Navahrudak, Minsk, Vitebsk, Smolensk. This is a main cities of GDL!! Stop to falsify history, and please correct. If you want, i can help you to correct historic names. Because history GDL directly connected with Belarus. And i, much patriot, injured lot of this information about GDL. Thanks for understanding.

@Don Rador

Not sure about this one, but most Civ 5 mods disable achievs.
RadORCan 21 Apr, 2015 @ 1:06pm
Can you still get achievements with these mods? (played too much eu4, in which a mod usually changes checksum and you cant get achievements or play on ironman until you disable the mod)
bazingo! 19 Apr, 2015 @ 9:53pm
Hey, so, my Samogitan Warriors seem to be taking away pantheon followers. Any reason for that?
TTV | Shrimpyy9000 16 Feb, 2015 @ 7:45pm
Can Samogitian Warriors convert your city to your pantheon if they are following your religion? I ask because that seems like a really solid stardegy with the religious tolerence policy. You could stack your own pantheon
nix 17 Nov, 2014 @ 11:19pm
Is the point of this mod not founding a religion? Because that's just awful.
ProphetSteve 28 Oct, 2014 @ 7:24pm
The idea of a civilization based on using just the pantheon belief is awesome. Can you make more 'backwards' civilizations like this? For example, a Civilization that prefers to have unhappy people, or one that gains something from being in debt, or one that gets a huge bonus by going into anarchy?
Mojave Neon 6 Oct, 2014 @ 8:19pm
I was hesitant to try this one, because it seemed that putting such an emphasis on just a pantheon belief would be underpowered. I'm happy to report that I was wrong. On an Arborea map at least, Lithuania does pretty well. With forest-heavy maps, Samogitian warriors are absolutely wonderful. The fact that they don't obsolete if a city retains just its pantheon belief is so valuable, because I could crank them out even later in the game, improve them to the current unit of whatever era I was in, and have a HUGE combat advantage in forest. The Sacred grove was also nice, because with all the forest tiles around, it allowed me just enough extra happiness to be able to found a few more cities earlier than I would have been able to without going into growth-sapping unhappiness for more than a turn or two.

That being said, I did notice some major issues later in the game. One is that you can't use faith to purchase great people if you have finished the appropriate policy trees, even though you should be able to starting in the Industrial Era. This is because you can only purchase in cities with a majority religion. So until one of the AIs converted my capital sometime in the Atomic Era, I couldn't use all my faith to buy anything. You should probably make it so that cities with just pantheon beliefs can also use faith to purchase.

Mojave Neon 6 Oct, 2014 @ 8:18pm

One other issue that arose in the late game was foreign religions being able to passively unconvert my cities from my pantheon belief. What I mean is, my cities would gradually gain followers of foreign religions from trade routes and shared borders. While not converting my city, it could send that city into no-man's land, where neither my pantheon nor the foreign religions had a majority, so my city was following no beliefs. As long as a majority of my other cities still did have the pantheon belief as their majority, the problem would correct itself when my city would gain a majority for followers of a foreign religion, at which point it would reconvert all of its citizens to my pantheon belief only.

Mojave Neon 6 Oct, 2014 @ 8:17pm

However, by the late game, this dynamic was happening to all of my cities, and so since none of them were following any beliefs because of this passive unconversion away from my pantheon, foreign religions were then able to convert them, and there was no way to reconvert them to my pantheon. There are two ways you could fix this. 1. Make it so that if a majority of your cities are following just your pantheon, then foreign religions can't gain any followers at all in any cities other than your capital. 2. Make it so that garrisoning a Samogitian Warrior automatically converts a majority of that city to just your pantheon belief. Without those fixes, all of Lithuania's UA, UU, and UB become completely worthless or unusable in the late game.
zArkham4269 21 Sep, 2014 @ 11:04pm
How does founding a religion affect the UA? I currently have four cities with my pantheon belief. The way I understand the game, any further cities will lack my pantheon belief unless I put in my own religion which brings the pantheon belief with it or a I station on of the UU in it to convert it later. Or should Lithuania just use their faith for other things and use Great Prophets to create Holy Sites?
NereidAlbel 28 Aug, 2014 @ 8:15am
Err, for some reason, Sacred Grove stops providing faith from forests as soon as I found a religion. If the intent is to just not found a religion, well, there go so many bonuses y.y
