Description
LITHUANIA (GEDIMINAS)
Unique Trait: The Old Gods
Land Units trained in cities following only your Pantheon belief have doubled Movement in Forest and Jungle. Melee Units trained in these cities can capture defeated enemies from combat.

Unique Building: Sacred Grove
The Sacred Grove is the unique Lithuanian Shrine. Unlike the Shrine, the Sacred Grove can be built immediately. It contributes toward the city's Cultural border expansion based upon the number of Forest and Jungle Tiles in your borders and is doubly effective if the city is only following your Pantheon belief. In addition, it converts your city's population to your Pantheon belief each turn, the rate of which increased for each Forest or Jungle tile within range of the city. Build Sacred Groves strategically to combat the unwanted spread of foreign Religions and to maintain your own Pantheon in your cities.

Unique Unit: Samogitian Warrior
The Samogitian Warrior is the Lithuanian unique unit under Gediminas. It gains a +50% Attack bonus when fighting in Forest or Jungle. It also does not require Iron, unlike the Swordsman that it replaces, though it is slightly weaker otherwise. In addition, it heals 5 damage when beginning its turn in a Forest or Jungle tile; doubling when that tile is owned by a city following only your Pantheon. Position your Samogitian Warriors deep in surrounding Forests or Jungles to get an advantage on your foes.
PATCHNOTES
  • v6
  • UA now applies to Jungle tiles as well as Forest tiles (although the civ still prioritizes placement in Forest).
  • UU now benefits from Jungle tiles as well as Forest. Clarified that it receives bonus healing when beginning in a Forest tile (was not otherwise stated in the help text) and this bonus is doubled when in a tile owned by a city following only your Pantheon.
  • Reduced UU's combat strength by 4 instead of 2.
  • UB effect now applies to Jungle tiles as well. UB now contributes progress toward Cultural Border expansion based on the number of Forest and Jungle tiles in the city instead of expanding borders on construction. The value of this is doubled in cities following only your Pantheon.
  • Split up the UA promotion to avoid confusion. The double movement in Forest also now applies to (Land) Civilian units.
  • Added adjusted Civ and Alpha icon thanks to DarthKyofu. Updated colours.
  • Added new city-list thanks to DarthKyofu.
  • Removed Gediminas' religion preference so he should no longer found a Religion.
  • Reduced the player's conversion rate from Sacred Grove to 5% per Forest/Jungle. AI rate now scales with difficulty (higher diffulty, higher rate).
  • Capped the Sacred Grove conversion rate at 50% conversion per turn.
  • Various text, supports, and code standardizations/optimizations.
  • Fixed black outlines on Civ Icon and Unit Flag alphas (where applicable).
  • Fixed issue where the ambience in the leaderscene overwrote the music (where applicable).

While I enjoy playing this mod, why jungle? Not exactly a lot of jungle terrain on the Baltic...

This civ has broken two games of mine, midgame. It just closes and there is no way of fixing it :(

I just had a weird experience playing this civ in my last game. All the cities I settled after the capital was invisible. The banner appeared, but no city.

Is this still compatible with events and decisions?

Cool, I always have the 'problem' of my all encompassing territories spreading Eastern Orthodoxy by themselves everywhere, a little stalwart paganism in the woods will help my immersion play out better.

Can't convert Lithuanian cities. Unsubscribing.

This seems like a cool concept, but unfortunately Lithuania is causing a CTD when I even attempt to load this mod. Not sure what the issue is, but JFD's other civs are definitely more stable than this one.
