unless all of those functions mentioned are somehow tied to the file crafting.config, they should not be breaking. i've just gone through the process of switching over to a patch instead of a direct file replacement, so any issues that aren't false-positives should be fixed.

I'm having the same issue as Jetstream Storm, this mod is breaking the character creation menu. I'm currently working around it by uninstalling the mod when I want to make a new character, but I'm hoping this will be fixed eventually.

For some reason this mod removes some mech legs texture
Jetstream Storm 25 iun. 2021 la 22:17
So i'm trying to figure out if this is due to updates breaking this or just an incompatibility, but the character creation menu breaks when using this mod. Which is weird given this doesn't affect it.

It doesn't affect the character select menu, oddly. only the creation menu.

Think I found the problem quicker than it took me to write out that last comment. Thought I'd pruned my modlist well enough but Manipulated UI snuck through the cracks and that was causing the problem.

Whether it's an incompatability directly between yours and StardustLib, I'm not sure. All I know is that when I'm subscribed, my C menu isn't a mess anymore, but my Quickbar directly open the Matter Manipulator. When I'm unsubscribed, C menu has floating tabs but I get my Quickbar options back.
I'll try to have a go through with the handful of suspect mods soon and pinpoint the interactions, if it's a user-end issue. Thanks!

that makes absolutely no sense. I don't even at all touch that area, and it works fine with this mod installed on my end. Are you sure you have the right mod mate?
Eo 2 dec. 2020 la 13:28
Sadly this mod breaks my Quickbar from StardustLib- clicking on the button in the UI only opens the Matter Manipulator window. I may be a bit of a fool and be missing something there though, only got back into Starbound modding after a hiatus, and I'd hate to not be able to use this mod!

@Joker:
In the metadata file, you add the line "priority" and assign it a value.Take a look at this article on the Starbound wiki [starbounder.org] for a better explanation.

@Silver Sokolova:
Where'd they say that, cause if they did, they're really out of touch. Using the C Menu is an important thing for mods that need a GUI which is compatible with Extended GUI without needing a third party patch. By using the C Menu with overrides built into the object file, you can make a custom GUI out of it, while still allowing it the freedom of Extended GUI should the player want that. Saying that only outdated mods touch that is wrong; multiple mods, by myself and others, still use it for the very fact it has no tabs. And by that logic, if they actually said that, doesn't that imply that FU is outdated?
Joker 29 nov. 2020 la 9:10
how do you set the mods priority
Silver Sokolova 29 nov. 2020 la 0:12
they brushed it off, saying that only "outdated" mods touch the C menu ;-;
AnomNom  [autor] 28 nov. 2020 la 18:09
It's not exactly that it's an issue for FU; it's an issue for other mod developers. It appears they made a change without considering the result it would have on other mods, which isn't surprising.
Silver Sokolova 28 nov. 2020 la 17:04
I wish FU would fix their own stuff.
Cheda Cheese 24 nov. 2020 la 6:01
Thank you so damn much, it's a small fix but those damn floating icons had been driving me mad for ages now :berserk:

It basically forces it to load directly afterwards. Actually a really useful thing for modders to know, since it can allow for insured loading order between two mods; in this case, it was Frackin' Universe and Extended GUI. Extended GUI had Frackin' set as included, so I had to get mine to load before it but after Frackin', and that was the solution.
Silver Sokolova 20 nov. 2020 la 13:19
"Really it's just metadata file stuff. I set the mod to require Frackin' Universe, but have a priority of -9999"
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
THAT'S SUCH A CHAD MOVE
(I dunno if I'm using that right. I'm using it as a "you showed them who's boss!" kinda thing)
Morbid Curiosity 20 nov. 2020 la 12:52
Finally, now I can make my magmarock furniture once more...
TheFoolishWitch 20 nov. 2020 la 7:58
Omfg thankyou you GODSENT
KolincaRN 19 nov. 2020 la 18:39
Oh, my bad.
Still rep+

(Btw, the mod that broke the basic recipes is Avali Mech, if anyone reads this. Safe to unsub if no mech wears any parts of it, and recipes are back, woom)
AnomNom  [autor] 19 nov. 2020 la 18:21
That would be because you have the Frackin' Universe x Extended GUI patch, which breaks this mod because it tries to fix a problem that no longer exists.
KolincaRN 19 nov. 2020 la 17:57
Well: since a couple days ago, my C menu was split in 3 tabs, maybe due to manytabs or alike.
However, I did try this mod because it really got on my nerves that both torches and wood platform recipes are missing on new characters (Saturnian and Aegi, will try a test vanilla species char soon).
Could you make a mod that forces the game to unlock the recipes on the C menu?
Also, I've uploaded my log just in case, because your mod actually broke my 3-tabs C crafting... I'm lost but oh well. At least I found something incompatible to help.
