I wouldn't have published the ships, if I didn't want people to use them. No need to ask for permission.
@Taidyr thanks for putting this together, it's a great all around ship/design to get most all players started with mining. One of the drawbacks of a general use miner is that stone enters at a much higher rate than it can be ejected for low density ores like uranium necessitating breaks in mining. When I have nothing else to do I may try to balance the ejectors more
I can`t find the way to load Uranium in Reactor with name "A.IS-MIN-I3 Jumpstart Reactor"
I learned with a different miner to never aim directly at my destination in space, because hitting an asteroid at 100 m/s tends to have a negative effect on anything. Only needed to learn that lesson once XD
And while the space-version does not care about being overweight, more load will have a significant impact on thruster-power and braking distance, so be careful to not have the ship crashing into your base!
If you need more capacity, you should find a lot of decent alternatives on the workshop that will probably suit better for the job.
thanks for the feedback! True, cargo-capacity is lacking compared with what most players use. I had multiple iterations of this vessel in use on our server for almost a year, before I deployed this version on the workshop back in mid 2019. SE has changed a lot since then but this composition ended up being the sweetspot for me to keep the design compact, efficent and durable. The ship was built around the Autominer-Script and therefore sacrifices in some areas to work as good as possible with it. The more you load the ship, the more picky the script becomes with weight, power-drain, thrust-capacities and so on. So you will have to deal with more accidents or bugs. I found having the ship doing multiple trips with less load being more convenient than giving it more cargo per tour. Also a ship this size is much easier to salvage if it runs into a fatal accident. Additionally, every drill can hold the amount of a medium cargo container as well.
Hope the miner will serve you well! Definitely give the PAM-script a try. The guide is linked in the description.
and with my other ships, all it took was ice and Uranium and they all fired up nice and quick, longest it took was around 5-10 seconds since the ice had to run through to all the thrusters.
I am also playing on my mates paid 24/7 server with my other mates so not running solo haha
As for the bug; I've never heard of that behavior before. Usually it's just "works" or "doesn't work", but I've never experienced the thrusters to kick in suddenly later on. Have you experienced this behavior with other ships as well? And are you playing solo or an a server?
Turned out the ship was badly bugged.
After i rebuilt it, the thrusters FINALLY kicked in 15 minutes after being built.... Soooo i have no idea what was going on there but it's working..
Apologised for the cluster fk i caused, but still very confused why it took so long for the thrusters to kick in.
I left a Like gave you the Treasure award and added the ship to my favourites as a apology and a thank you for helping me out.
Have you made sure your dampeners were on when you disconnected it from the Printer? Also check the thrusters in the control menu and make sure, all of them are actually turned on. The Toolbar might lie to you, saying 'on', while half of the thrusters could be deactivated. Next check the batteries. What did the powermeter say when you disconnected it? If it spiked to the red, requiring more than 100%, the batteries might have run out during construction and the reactors are not able to lift the ship on it's own. Check the status of the batteries in the control menu. They might also have been put into recharge mode. Then they won't give power to the thrusters either.
- Had to remove 4. due to 1000 character limit
I also apologise for a shitty first post not providing any details, Was just in a bad mood i wasted so much materials to then getting to the point of trashing the ship and using a smaller miner ship.
But this will break down everything i did to where i trashed the ship.
1. I built the ship on earth since i wanted something better than just a hand drill to gather tons of iron for my station/home base. And i know the difference between ION Thrusters and Atmospheric Thrusters. And i downloaded this ship as i was infact looking for a miner to work on earth.
2. The printer i built has worked on the past 7 ships myself and my mate have printed off - I have always produced more materials and equipment for the ship so it will 100% get built without anything missing.
No, I'm not gonna DM you. If you've found a serious flaw with the ship, you post it in the comments, so other ppl can see it as well and then I'm gonna make sure it's getting fixed asap. But I'm not gonna spend time trying to figure out what might be wrong with the specific vessel you've printed or the worldfile it is in. The last one I did that with built the Atmo-Miner in friggin space!
If you wanna take this to DM's and maybe have a proper discussion without bs, Then feel free. Don't just throw shit into chat like I was having a go.... Be a good Author and not a toxic sht....
A miner that does not work in survival, yet manages to get a 5-star-rating. That makes sense...
Srsly, I use this ship for years now even before it was published and it wouldn't be here if it doesn't work correctly. No Idea wtf you're doing in your survival game but neither is it my issue to fix it. Check if you have the ship set up correctly and make sure mods and settings don't interfere with it's behavior.
I'm not sure what you trying to archive by shoving ice into an atmo-miner but it further ensures to me that the ship is not to blame here.
Isn't that the other one?
Gotta say I love the design of this. Functional AND good looking.
you might want that to say in atmospheric environments not non-atmospheric environments
