Hi all,

The Dadinator has given me permissions to carry this mod on and develop it further.

University is back!

New Leader Traits were added in 2.6, at least one Trait giving Governors a bonus to Administation Capacity "production", possibly more Traits that I don't know about yet. Those aren't included in this mod.

sad, this was such an essential mod for me. Maybe you are considering giving the core mod files away for other people to update and carry away?
Talok 17 Mar, 2020 @ 8:34pm
Unsubbing.
The Dadinator  [author] 17 Mar, 2020 @ 6:56pm
No more updates planned.
Bepiss 17 Mar, 2020 @ 5:31am
Is there going to be an update for this mod to 2.6?
Peter34 1 Jan, 2020 @ 7:11pm
Are you having problems with this mod, Blind? Since you're asking for an update?
BlindManthicor 23 Dec, 2019 @ 3:54pm
Can you update pls ?
packedmaniac 4 Nov, 2019 @ 6:21am
Could you update this exciting mod to the newest version? Or are you planning for the Federation DLC? :-)
darthprimus123 5 Oct, 2019 @ 6:38pm
please update
BD 21 Jul, 2019 @ 12:31pm
@CaptainKampfkeks English isn't my first language, sorry if that sounded harsh it wasn't intended that way.
CaptainKampfkeks 21 Jul, 2019 @ 8:27am
@BD Hmm. Well, I don't know what's in the files, I just can read the description, which I quoted. Don't shoot the messanger because of false information. >.>
BD 21 Jul, 2019 @ 8:19am
@CaptainKampfkeks that's just not true since the mod specifically says it's for "2.3.*" in its files.
@Lonewolf187 I came to report the same issue, my guess is that it doesn't adapt itself to the "Ancient Relics" DLC, because the 50% Anomaly Research Speed is what you should get if you don't have it installed.
CaptainKampfkeks 14 Jun, 2019 @ 8:24am
Well, seeing as this is "Compatible with Stellaris v2.2.* (Le Guin)" I'd say that's the old trait. So, not a bug, just not updated.
Lonewolf187 13 Jun, 2019 @ 6:37pm
So I ran into a bug using the University. I went and got a scientist with the Archaeology trait to help with dig sites, unfortunately the scientist I got has the Archaeology trait, however it adds a +50% to Anomaly Research Speed instead of a bonus to dig sites.
Konka 9 Jun, 2019 @ 7:51pm
Im not getting the secondary trait when ascended, is this a bug?
Peter34 26 May, 2019 @ 6:42am
I use both this mod and Glavius' AI. They do different things, so unsurprisingly there are no problems.
LVLVbNH 26 May, 2019 @ 2:48am
Is this mod have compatibility with Glavius?
pinkguy 25 May, 2019 @ 8:43am
Hey Dadinator! It is possible for you to add traits from other mods (like Ecology Mod)? Thanks!
Alucard 20 Apr, 2019 @ 7:29am
Great mod, I could think of one more addition to the mods function.
How about allowing the university to train our leaders. We pay respectable price of course and selected leader gains a fixed amount of xp, with cooldowns or a buff that grants like 20xp per month and it increases the leader's upkeep by 100% for the duration of the said buff.
JayBee 🔰 17 Apr, 2019 @ 5:44pm
Love it, more weirdness would be good. hah :)
Spiffing Reynard 31 Mar, 2019 @ 11:13pm
dam, thanks for updating this

Jack of all trades hasn’t been removed... maybe something is glitched.
dan5tr4n63r 20 Mar, 2019 @ 3:17pm
@CaptainKampfkeks so that's what is jack-of-all-trades...so then is not a new idea...to bad he removed that...i think it is worth putting it back to the university...i just started a new game in 2.2.6...and hired a spark of genius...he aquired starcraft after 17 years...i only paid 200 credits...
In fact...it would be nicer if the university could upgrade some of my leaders that i didn't hired from it...man...a lot of potential with this traits mod...to be able to retrain one with substance abuse with something from society...LOL...so funny
CaptainKampfkeks 20 Mar, 2019 @ 1:06pm
@dan5str4n63r

That's exactly what I meant with the jack of all trades. There used to be an option to hire an ace in a science division, one with all three traits (E.g. Particles+Field Manipulation+Computing for Phsyics). And he was about five times more expensive. As I said, I don't lnow why it was removed.
dan5tr4n63r 20 Mar, 2019 @ 11:40am
@CaptainKampfkeks I don't get it with jack of all trades...how is it better to by a spark of genius from university in comparison to what the pool gives you?...I think from 2 traits up would be worth it...but that's just me...

@Peter34...is not to much...in fact if you let the scientists enough time...they will have both...i had many times scientists with spark of genius and a trait from the 3 field research...i even had physics with physics..society with society or engineering with engineering...not impossible...just rare...i would hoped this university does something similar but with cost...for example you buy a scientist with particle trait...you pay 200 credits...well...to have a second skill on the same field should cost more...10 times more...maybe more...but i think this would worth the price...and a third skill on the same field should cost even more...well...it was a nice idea if is not possible
Peter34 20 Mar, 2019 @ 10:39am
I think Genius + Evertything Physics is far too much. Just Genius + one thing of my choice, would be very nice.
CaptainKampfkeks 20 Mar, 2019 @ 7:33am
@dan5str4n63r There used to be a "jack-of-all-trades" option, which did exactly what you asked for. Dunno why it was removed tho...

@Peter34 I'd pay big money for a Genius + Physics ace (Field manipulation, Particles, Computing), or the respective others.
Peter34 20 Mar, 2019 @ 7:24am
I’d love to be able to pay a lot to hire a Genius+Stuff, such as Genius+Biology or Genius+Materials, at a very high cost in both ECs and Influence. And perhaps only available if I have taken the Transcendent Learning Perk.
dan5tr4n63r 20 Mar, 2019 @ 6:05am
Is it possible to add more than 1 trait?...please read...why would i use this mod if is just one trait like in the pool leader(i did try it though...a very nice idea)....i suggest making expensive yes...but more traits...for example...i would go to search the university/academy for one very special scientist lets say...in physics...that he would have all traits to that area:particle, field of manipulation and propulsion...that would be worth a lot of money...but by that time...your empire is strong enough to aquire that scientist...since is not even worth in early game to buy from university...because you find one trait guys in the pool size leaders...this should be from 50 years onwards...maybe even mid-game(that is...if more traits is implemented)...Thank you
The Dadinator  [author] 5 Mar, 2019 @ 6:07pm
@Spreadwheat - I will take a look probably next week but no promises.
pinkguy 5 Mar, 2019 @ 5:22am
@The Dadinator would be possible to add the Ecologist governor trait from Ecology Mod to the list of School of Public Service, as a patch or something like that?
The Dadinator  [author] 14 Feb, 2019 @ 12:57pm
Yeah but I would have thought that without an http at the front it would be ignored.
Mamtk 14 Feb, 2019 @ 12:47pm
@The Dadinator

.name is a valid domain name

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.name
The Dadinator  [author] 14 Feb, 2019 @ 9:03am
And I have no idea why Steam is making the name key a hyperlink...
The Dadinator  [author] 14 Feb, 2019 @ 9:03am
Actually eac_university.3.name and eac_university.3.desc are optional as the name pulls the name from eac_university.1.general and the description is pretty vague.
The Dadinator  [author] 14 Feb, 2019 @ 8:54am
you would have to create a mod to overwrite the localization strings... from the information here: https://stellaris.paradoxwikis.com/Modding#Overwriting_Specific_Elements there is a line that talks about how to do localization overwrites. The loc keys you would need to change for this are: eac_university.1.general, eac_university.1.general.tooltip, eac_university.3.name , and eac_university.3.desc.
CoolAidApocalypse 14 Feb, 2019 @ 8:29am
Can one edit the names of the branches of schools? If not, how hard would that be to implement? I'd love to be able to rename my Army War College to fit my barbaric despoilers run
The Dadinator  [author] 30 Jan, 2019 @ 7:35am
@CaptainKampfkeks - the code itself looks fine. All I do is call the vanilla events that set the additional trait. I will have to some testing this weekend to see why it is no longer working (was fine in ealier versions of the game).
The Dadinator  [author] 30 Jan, 2019 @ 7:28am
@CaptainKampfkeks... hmmm something must be broken on that end then... will have to take a look and see what is causing the issue.
