Amazing assets, I have used this as the base for my suburbs; if only there were a similar assets pack for row houses for middle density housing I could use too.
coochmuncher69 16 лип. 2023 о 0:12
This asset took over my low density and I couldn't get any other 4x4s to spawn.

Sucks because its really good assets
Kuma Ashiato 18 серп. 2020 о 2:46
Very nice. :)

These work great for Leafy suburbs on the outskirts of a city!
SirHoneybun 20 верес. 2018 о 18:03
This won't load for me, anyone else?
Doddynco 8 черв. 2018 о 7:52
@Macwelshman Thank you for all of your amazing assets! Is it possible to version of this without the garden wall/fance/hedge, as I find that these types of houses are ussually found within curved and non-grid layouts. I try to cover the garde with trees but it would be nice to have the option to draw in our own garden limits. Thank you once again!!!

Love ya MacWelshman! Thank you deeply for creating and sharing so many beautiful works of art <3

The trees look like Plantain tree. Look that up here or google.
IratePirate 13 листоп. 2017 о 7:28
This is literally exactly what my area looks like. Fantastic.
CrashBoxNat 25 жовт. 2017 о 4:39
They look really nice, but are the trees on some of theses houses included or are they a seperate asset? (and if they are seperate, where can I get them?)
Princess Mononoco 23 жовт. 2017 о 9:42
I subscribed to it, downloads are ready but the game says the files are missing. Anyone else experienced this?

Just wanted to say your work is astounding. Detailed yet not over the top. Everything is just beautifully done. Cheers :steamhappy:

simovic.alex, not all of us are that fortunate :) but yes, if someone has an issue with an asset they're more than welcome to teach themselves how to make one that fits their own requirements. Most modders don't receive anything in return for what they make. We're fortunate that they donate their time to this at all. Personally, I love your assets Macwelshman!!
simovic.alex 18 верес. 2017 о 5:03
oh I just want to add RAM isnt that expensive people...assets like these are well worth it...!
simovic.alex 18 верес. 2017 о 5:01
amazing !
Macwelshman  [автор] 18 верес. 2017 о 3:05
It amazes me how irritated some people get about a pretend house in a game. If you don't like this then don't subscribe to it. There's no need to rant and be rude!!!
No.89757 17 верес. 2017 о 18:29
The problem is specs like yours are far from the norm, actually 8-16 GB RAM seems to be the most common for players. We can't assume everyone can afford to upgrade to a very powerful system. And no matter how pretty these look, the fact is they're 4 times the texture size recommended for these buildings, meaning you can have 4 other assets instead.
pdelmo 17 верес. 2017 о 16:13
nice
Macwelshman  [автор] 17 верес. 2017 о 9:28
@Avanya Thanks for the link. I do use smoothing for most of my Blender projects but did not realise that effect could be exported in the fbx file. I will use it from now on.
Avanya 17 верес. 2017 о 4:29
@Macwelshman: I can help with Blender - I found this bit very helpful in understanding how smoothing works in Blender: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/modeling/meshes/editing/smoothing.html?highlight=smooth
Macwelshman  [автор] 16 верес. 2017 о 16:52
@Darf Thanks for your reply. I'm using Blender and not sure how smoothing groups applies to it. The initial textures used are of course repeating, but the final textures include wall sides that have dirt and grime I've added and don't repeat. In other words, the final texture has full house walls for both left and right semi's. Where there are textures that are used more than once I share textures in the UV map. The tri count of my assets really cannot be reduced any further. most walls are 2 tris. The real issue is whether I'm prepared to compromise on the detail I've put in to the asset for improved speed.
Darf 16 верес. 2017 о 16:00
Here's an example of what smoothing groups do: http://help.autodesk.com/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/3DSMax/images/GUID-B9C19328-EB0D-40A5-B418-E0F4D88DDEC4.png

Also square textures can never be really well optimised, because you can never fully utilise the repetition of paterns in textures (like in your example the brick or the roofs) unless you divide faces which in turn adds to the triscount.
Macwelshman  [автор] 16 верес. 2017 о 15:13
@Darf could you clarify what you mean by ‘smoothing group’. The amount of detail would not be the same at a smaller size as the texture is optimised to the max already. However, I don’t have a problem creating a less detailed version if that is what others want.
Avanya 16 верес. 2017 о 14:49
@manu: The problem is specs like yours are far from the norm, actually 8-16 GB RAM seems to be the most common for players. We can't assume everyone can afford to upgrade to a very powerful system. Sure for some it might be worth it having these, but for others having that extra variation of buildings outweights that extra detail when zoomed in (which can't be seen without zoom mods). I'm in the latter group. I'm perfectly fine with the fact that some creators choose to make super detailed high resolution stuff, but if there's a chance to get those buildings at a lower resolution, I'm gonna take it. I'd love to have these houses, but not with such large textures. My 24 GB RAM are about full and I know the other creators I love have many more stuff I'll want (plus my own stuff). ;)
Darf 16 верес. 2017 о 1:00
Whil these do look excellent, 2048x2048 is also a bit too much for me. You could get the same detail lvl on a 2048x512 map. Also I would add a smoothing group the front round area.
Seb 15 верес. 2017 о 16:12
WOW, so realistic
mcarn101 15 верес. 2017 о 10:45
Another awesome revamp, Thanks! :steamhappy:.
If i can make a suggestion of what to do at some point in the near future:

Please can you make some High Density Georgian Terraced Housing (housing and buildings that dominate Inner London)?
pkenny 15 верес. 2017 о 0:59
WOW! Great Work! 200MBs, would you please consider doing a cut-down RICO version in a separate pack, maybe just the level 5 houses, so we can enjoy looking at your work, for those with lower spec computers? THANKS ... size does matter.
Pres 14 верес. 2017 о 15:49
Love it. Would love to see you try some American suburban homes!!
Macwelshman  [автор] 14 верес. 2017 о 6:00
@sensual.heathen Thanks! I hope to update more assets when I'm able.
Imperial Sutehk 14 верес. 2017 о 5:12
@ Macwelshman Great work as usual...are you going to update your detached range per chance
Macwelshman  [автор] 13 верес. 2017 о 15:26
@hadece Thanks. I was a graphic designer before ill health got in the way. I guess it's in my DNA.
Macwelshman  [автор] 13 верес. 2017 о 15:19
@Manu Thank you for all your fabulous comments. If I do a lower res version it will indeed be a separate pack. For those creating cities with hundreds of decals and very detailed areas it's important to have the most optimised assets, but for those of us who want it, it's important to provide high quality growable assets for realistic towns. I'm a Cardiff man and get a lot of inspiration from the areas I live and pass through regularly. In fact I get too many ideas, most of which will never see the light of day. As someone that suffers with M.E. I cannot always keep to my schedule but the assets will eventually be uploaded. I'm currently working on the 'Project Monaco' with PugGaming. For some reason I decided to create the Casino, despite the fact that it is ridiculously detailed. I do like a challenge. I will try to update my other houses when I can. Diolch yn fawr I ty!
manu 13 верес. 2017 о 12:10
Hi @Macwelshman, I have 128 GB RAM and 32 GB GPU in which the houses are looking wonderful. So honestly I would like to have greater detail as the houses look exactly the house where I lived previously in Monmouthshire, Wales. I am not writing comment against @Avanya but the hardware specs are keep on becoming cheaper but awesome assets like these will not redone in the future. So I would humbly request if at all you want to create with low definitions I would recommend to have two different versions. (***to be continued***)
manu 13 верес. 2017 о 12:10
(...continued...) Also Collosal Order keep on increasing the assets (in the name of DLC) by which increased RAM will slowly become a kind of necessity. So I would request you to continue in the same way as you are doing now as I can see a personal touch because the houses cherish my old memory.
@Avanya, although this comment is not against to your comment, please excuse me if it bathers as I know how valuable moder you are. And finally sincere thanks to @Macwelshman and @Avanya for their great contribution to the wonderful community.
HarryB 13 верес. 2017 о 8:14
One word: amazing! Thank you so much.
And perhaps a 'light' version wouldn't be such a bad idea...
hadece 13 верес. 2017 о 2:28
BTW really beautiful presentation!
hadece 13 верес. 2017 о 2:26
These are beautitful! And I agree with Avanya, 1024² texture will probably be fine enough (Totally understand you from an artistic point of view, though).
Macwelshman  [автор] 12 верес. 2017 о 16:29
@Avanya Thanks for the great comments. There are 3 separate meshes for the 3 garden types but each texture is only shared by a standard house and a corner house. In other words there are 10 different textures, each used twice. I'll have a look at 1024 textures but there are a lot of details that will be lost.
MadTech 12 верес. 2017 о 16:21
Thank You for another great addition to your already massive, beautifully detailed and presented UK Housing Series. :)

Another Thank You for taking the extra time to provide the building stats and details (not many of the newer creators make that extra effort and their assets get overlooked)
manu 12 верес. 2017 о 13:38
Wonderful!
Rooster 12 верес. 2017 о 13:04
You are good, really good.Your assets make feel right at home.
nepatan_verem 12 верес. 2017 о 8:57
Love it! :steamhappy: Great work! *thumbs up*
Could you make a 1024x1024 texture version of this?
genosse.stanil 12 верес. 2017 о 6:00
This is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you very much.
Avanya 12 верес. 2017 о 5:51
These look great! I'd really love them with 1024x1024 versions, since I just can't justify the 2048x2048 size for growables. I'm sure some will love them for the extra detail, but it's also a lot of RAM usage for relatively small buildings.

Btw if all the levels are the same buildings, you might want to mention that in the description. With the Loading Screen mod that would mean only 4 different textures would actually be loaded and shared, meaning lower RAM usage for the whole pack. Ofc that's only relevant if they're the same textures. :)
Madeushipurpants 12 верес. 2017 о 1:42
erdobelli you can pick and choose what you want by going into the steam file and moving the assets you want to your local cities skylines file
Potenzo 12 верес. 2017 о 1:31
Awesome stuff.
erdobelli 12 верес. 2017 о 1:23
Could you upload each level separately, like you did for your terraced assets? It seems you use the same asset for all levels with cosmetic changes (fenced walls, hedges etc). I may subscribe to a level or two depending on the looks. I use "find it" to plop down the growables. Thanks for the great collection.
NoirMoutton 11 верес. 2017 о 23:37
Fantastic work as always!
