RCSP - Challenger (No Mods) Corvette

Nightmare 28 Mar @ 6:11pm
This thing is now fully built and 1 of two large Ships (the smaller of the two) inside my Super-Carrier class ship, it's earned its place as a trusty, modified Corvette that helps with moon based trips and tighter flying that the Super-Carrier itself cannot carry out (those wondering, the Super-Carrier is currently 27.8 million KG and climbing and even with impressive thrust capabilities, planetary missions are incredibly tasking for Moons and nearly impossible for proper Planets)

The RCSP - Challenger now runs under the tag: FTV - Corrupted Challenger.
We welcome it into our Consuming Family...

Me and my friends found we could replace the antenna and install a railgun. 10/10 would ship again :). Also GLORY TO THE RCSP.

i see, i may need to see if i can convert it to solely hydrogen but otherwise the ship is perfect for what i need
Venom415  [author] 18 Nov, 2022 @ 6:33pm
I try making all my ships as survival capable as possible but it has space to modify its internals to your needs, its main source of power is a large reactor in the middle of the ship with hydrogen production in the rear engineering area.
Nightmare 18 Nov, 2022 @ 3:26pm
I must ask about this ship, as it may become a modified Corvette stationed inside my Super Carrier... Is this thing Survival capable and what is it's source of power? (can it be shifted over to Hydrogen for Ice usage?)

LCDs are running with two scripts if irc but the programmable blocks were paused to stop performance issues since they were the first scripts to come out so they hit performance hard.
Nesano 16 Nov, 2021 @ 5:37pm
Are the LCDs supposed to work or is all the text placeholder?
Memlapse 1 Jun, 2020 @ 10:20am
I've loved the shape of the front section - the only part mostly intact in the random encounter. I finally put power to the beacon and found it's proper name. Now I can see it in it's full glory!
Venom415  [author] 21 May, 2020 @ 10:48am
Not enough thrust to get into planets and fly. As you can see it has no atmospheric thrusters; but you could add on some large atmo or hydrogen thrusters to the outside to help it land, just make sure to have enough hydrogen to leave the atmosphere.
iEatPaint 21 May, 2020 @ 9:59am
Can this go in and out of planets?
Wingnut 12 Apr, 2020 @ 11:30pm
YES, i finally figured out what that random encounter was finally!
DAX 5 Dec, 2019 @ 7:42am
would this be good for crash survival
Destroyers Fleet 23 Aug, 2019 @ 6:33pm
Great design Venom
Venom415  [author] 24 May, 2019 @ 3:15pm
Thank you, must have turned off mirror mode accidentally :P
It is now properly wired up.
senturu 24 May, 2019 @ 3:03pm
Hey Venom, just downloaded this ship. the right Hydro thrusters are not conveyered up. in the back.

THank you,
Venom415  [author] 30 Jul, 2018 @ 10:30am
Update: Added Hydrogen thrusters and 2 rear large ions for better performance, enjoy!
Iredude 29 Apr, 2018 @ 9:03pm
Really nice, huge fan, I was planet side for a little while and had to go back to space to try this out, though I did get some thruster damage from both side covered thrusters. Removed the covering pieces and seemed fine. A connector of some sort in the hanger would have been sweet too but manageable. Nice work.
Reign 6 Feb, 2018 @ 1:33pm
Venom would you mind a few of your ships getting shot up and spawns as crashed ships, with credit to you?
crashmartin5000 9 Nov, 2017 @ 9:59am
love it it's well rounded good wepons armor and even a hangar very nice:steamhappy:
Johnny 28 Oct, 2017 @ 7:07pm
reminds me of the engines on the Pegasus from BSG, love it
Shabazza 27 Oct, 2017 @ 11:10am
It does. ^^ Thanks.

My mind is like a chrome window with a hundred tabs open... But all in alphabetical order; organized chaotic if you will. Usually I get ideas in my head from a combination of other ship designs from movies and games that I've seen (rarely do make a design I scetched) or from my childhood Lego designs.

When I build ships I ask myself "can you run your hand over it like an old corvette?", meaning is it streamlined to where you wouldn't cut your hand if you ran it over the ship... Weird I know but the aerodynamics look and feel is what you get when you do it right! It's a lot to take in but I hope that answers your question:steamhappy:
Venom415  [author] 27 Oct, 2017 @ 4:44am
Firstly most of my designs are spontaneous and unplanned until I finally have to do that part of the ship. For my designs I start making the ships outer shell first, doing so give me more freedom and leeway when making interesting shapes and designs, then I fill I the interior with as much useful stuff as I can. I always have to include the following: 3 main colors and 4 shades of grey to paint the ship, automatic LCD script 2 and Phil's ship diagnostic script, room names on lcds, and a lot of interior walls to create better floors/walls, and using half blocks to create indents in the hull.
Shabazza 26 Oct, 2017 @ 12:30pm
I like the interior a lot. So many things in a tight space and yet packed into a cool hull shape.
Luv the glass cockpit. And the space usage and overall the internal structure/walk way layout is nicely done.

May I ask you how you approach building your ships?
Do you have a reference, a sketch or something? Do you just build it, or do you kinda pre-plan the internal layout to fit a pre-determined hull shape, or is it the other way round?
I'm curious...
All my ships are realistic / survival ready, but they are usually not streamlined for also being pretty and/or compact.
TheGamingScotty 16 Oct, 2017 @ 2:31pm
needed a ship like this for my new base
finbar 10 Oct, 2017 @ 11:44am
i took some damage i reapaired all the damaged parts i could see but it said the air vents were leaking/damaged how do i fix this?
[MPW] ColTeH 🦄 17 Aug, 2017 @ 3:41am
@Venom415 your rear hangar and its airvent need alittle love, need to make it so it depressurises before the door opens <3
Hunter 495 16 Aug, 2017 @ 10:48am
I didn't even notice this was venom's!:steamfacepalm::steamfacepalm::steamfacepalm:
[MPW] ColTeH 🦄 15 Aug, 2017 @ 3:59pm
@venom415 the bottom of my verson of your ship has a custom (mouse controlled) Battlecannon Muahaha also, its an L in my name ;)
ToxxyCZ 15 Aug, 2017 @ 1:05pm
EPIC NICE SHIP ... why i dont build that epic ships ??
Venom415  [author] 15 Aug, 2017 @ 1:03pm
@coiteh thanks for letting me know, it has been resolved! also There is a new connector on the bottom!
DogCapt 15 Aug, 2017 @ 12:33pm
Venom has made another impressive ship! Good job Venom!
[MPW] ColTeH 🦄 15 Aug, 2017 @ 9:37am
Just noticed you have placed an update, will my previous message have been fixed by this update?
[MPW] ColTeH 🦄 15 Aug, 2017 @ 9:35am
@Venom415 fantastic overall, side turret locations are not connected to main convayors. had to modify the ship a bit xD
Nemmo 14 Aug, 2017 @ 7:25am
This Ship is so good, i made Hangar in my Capitol-Ship where 3 of these fit in. :steamhappy:
Revan 13 Aug, 2017 @ 11:54pm
Any chance you could throw dimensions and mass up in the description? just something i like to look at when browsing ships. looks very sweet i have to say.
zeckmon3 13 Aug, 2017 @ 10:52pm
mhh single grid.... IM GOING TO MASS PRODUCE THESE THINGS!
Venom415  [author] 13 Aug, 2017 @ 4:51pm
Glad you like it, more ships are on the way! :P
Phattty3 13 Aug, 2017 @ 4:09pm
Love the design man. Very nicely done.
The Modular Doll 13 Aug, 2017 @ 1:23pm
That ship has a pretty sexy exterior. Well done, Venom.
Venom415  [author] 13 Aug, 2017 @ 11:50am
Update: Bridge flight seats now have functions on the toolbar. Red alert lights have been added as well. Missing turrets are now back and you wont see the "Missing Mods" message! Enjoy! :papyrus:
Siv 13 Aug, 2017 @ 10:34am
Виглядит супер! It is cool! :steamhappy:
andreykl 13 Aug, 2017 @ 8:57am
Looks like something is wrong with missile turrets. They dissapeared after pasting, so they probably are the culprit.
Also I really like how double doors are located everywhere - it gives the feel of a proper ship
Ship is a bit hard to navigate since most doors and staiways are not subscribed - you simply can't figure out where the door leads to. I understand that there is simply not enought place for lcd panels (Developers seriosly need to consider implementing 'compound' blocks at least for walkways, light and LCDs), but still it's a disadvantage.

P.S. Would you mind if I remake this ship in Empyrion if I will have a chance to? looks way too good)

Venom415  [author] 13 Aug, 2017 @ 8:32am
it was built in a world with mods but i used vanilla blocks only for the blueprint, it might be a bug so ill see if I can fix that.
[MPW] ColTeH 🦄 13 Aug, 2017 @ 8:15am
Ship is not Modless? When pasting it warns about missing mods.
kris220b 12 Aug, 2017 @ 2:45am
@{-SM-}Alex

Yes i know >_>

I was simply just replying to the question of @BeatToWin.
As you can clearly see by looking at the very first line on my prior comment.
andreykl 11 Aug, 2017 @ 11:38pm
Beautiful! Thanks.
{-SM-}Alex 11 Aug, 2017 @ 8:51pm
@kris220b

The pictures clearly show ION thrusters being used on this design. IONS are only 30% efficient in within gravitational atmosphere. H2 based systems are NOT required for space travel, they simply provide more thrust.
parkasever 11 Aug, 2017 @ 6:58pm
SE aesthetics at its best.
