SW Alien Voice Pack (Legacy)

Description
THIS IS FOR THE BASE/LEGACY VERSION OF THE GAME
It does appear to work with WOTC, but may have bugs. Use at your own risk.

This mod adds a suite of soldier voice options for various Star Wars alien species. It is intended to be used in conjunction with my various head pack mods, but can of course be used independently. There are voices for 16 species:

Abyssin (male)
Advozsec (male)
Arcona (male)
Bith (male)
Duros (male)
Gamorrean (male)
Gand (male)
Gran (male)
Kubaz (male)
Neimoidian (male)
Nikto (male)
Rodian (male)
Trandoshan (male)
Tusken Raider (male)
Twi'lek (Huttese - male, female)
Weequay (male)

Notes:
Because the voices are mostly gibberish, the majority of barks for a given species draw randomly from a large shared pool. However, where possible I have tried to use approriate tones (e.g. angry) or specific emotes (e.g. yells/screams). Due to the varying amount of source audio available, some species have less range/diversity than others. The Tusken, in particular, is very limited due to a small pool of source audio.

Acknowledgements:
Original audio content derived from Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. All rights belong to EA/Bioware and Disney.

I learned a lot by poking through the contents of other people’s mods to see how things worked, as well as reading various tutorials and forum/Reddit posts, particularly by E3245. Many thanks to them and the rest of the X2 modding community for their help, direct and indirect.

causes lag on initial loading, i think because of very large audio files. Someone optimizing this w ould be great

with experimenting around i figured 1 thing out.
The audio from the Voice pack (and probably the other too loud ones) are not adjustable with the ingame volume sliders. even with Master volume on 0 the voices where earbusting.
amazingly, if the voice is from an alien (like the Hutt cartel mod) its fine, just if i use them it has issues.

Thanks for the response though im currently trying to find the problem in a broader sense. maybe i can fix the Loud intro sound and Start music as well that way XD

the voice pack volume is random i have over 20 of them and half the time i hear nothing others they are so loud im like holy hell that was loud its not just this one

To be honest I haven't looked at it or used it since I released it 5 years ago. At a guess, I'd say that all the cues probably had their volume increased because I felt that was required at the time when testing it in legacy X2. Maybe something changed in WOTC so now it is too loud. The only way to adjust it would be to open all the packs in the toolset and edit the cues.

not sure where the problem is. but for some reason this voice pack is Incredibly loud. compared to the vanilla and other mod voices its at least twice as loud.
i love it but i also would love to know where to fix this issue as i dont really want my eardrums explode everytime i give a command

no need to edit files just use the AML it makes all mods load even those without the wotc flags in them sometimes it will mean longer loading times but the game will load and after the first time being a long load if left unchanged it will get quicker when loading

If anyone is still having issues with WOTC go to the mods folder, open SWAliensVoicePack, and add RequiresXPACK=true under publishedFileId=884008088. That made the voices pop up in WOTC for me.

Each voice template for the vanilla soldiers is labelled. You'll need to duplicate the lines for any voice templates you want and assign them to the factions soldiers by adding the faction template to the end of the line. For example, to make Neimoidian available for males of all three factions:

If you want them for females as well, you'll need duplicate lines changed to Gender=eGender_Female

How do I add in the provisions, and into which ini file?
DrDCB  [author] 12 Nov, 2020 @ 6:31am
It works fine in WOTC, it just doesn't have provision for the faction soldiers. You can always add those to the ini yourself.
