Description
ACI Whiplash Class Heavy Cruiser, produced by Ares Combat Industries

Ares Combat Industries proudly presents the Whiplash Class Heavy Cruiser. It is a marvelous and advanced piece of military technology and the first ACI ship the ever feature a mass driver in conjunction with two guided missiles. The cruiser also features a rather unusual design for a ACI warship, which was necessary in order to make uses of the mass driver. Due to this ship being the first warship to feature guided missiles Ares Combat Industries decided to mass produce these types of missiles and similar versions in order to equip future ships with this kind of technology.

The Heavy Cruiser is most effectively used as artillery ship, but if necessary the warship can hold its own in short range, due to it being equipped with 23 turret installations, which have all been hooked up to an effective repair system. If desired you may also use this ship for planetary bombardment, but keep in mind that that was not its original intent.

So guys… I finally decided to play around with some different weapon types and this is the result. It might not be perfect, but I do think the result is quite good.You will be able to find the commands for the special weapons in the second toolbar.
The ship has been named “Whiplash” in honor of Whiplash141, who is responsible for some of the most awesome scripts here on the workshop and helped me on some of my builds. Hope you guys enjoy!

IMPORTANT: Don’t conduct any erratic movement while firing the mass driver or the missiles!

Greetings K-medlock, I was outfitting this cruiser for extended deployment for and incursion into hostile territory. Its purpose was to savage the enemy and leave smoldering wrecks in its assault. However, its jumpdrive system seems to have an issue. It wants to always find an obstacle about 107 meters away and trunicates the jump. I have even taken the step of moving the jump drive to various locations and received the same result. Being you are the master shipwright of this vessel, perhaps you could solve this issue. My many thanks and I commend you on your designs.
