Insurgent Profession - Customizable Loadout

Description

  • Customizable Loadout System - Select your ideal weapons, attachments, and ammunition from trait-specific equipment pools
  • Multiple Specialist Loadouts - Choose from a variety of roles, each with unique weapon options:
    • Built-in: Assault, Gunslinger, Marksman, Pistoleer, Rifleman, Explosives
    • Optional: Machinegunner, Recon
    • Optional (Brita's Weapon Pack required): Artilleryman, Bowman, Grenadier, Incendiary
  • Comprehensive Equipment Selection - Customize every aspect of your loadout, including:
    • Primary weapon
    • Magazine type
    • Grenade type (for grenade launchers)
    • Canon, RecoilPad, Optic, Sling, and Stock attachments
    • Magazine and ammo box count
    • Melee weapon selection
  • Flexible Item Distribution - Easily define the base starting items (New)
  • PNV Integration - Adds PNV equipment selection to the Insurgent profession during character creation (Requires the PNV mod) (New)
  • H.E.C.U. Integration - Adds H.E.C.U. gear selection to the Insurgent profession during character creation (Requires the H.E.C.U. mod) (New)
  • Extra Loadout Options - Each specialist role includes additional customization options for enhanced flexibility (Optional)
  • Smart Loadout Placement - If the player wears a backpack, most gear is placed directly into it instead of the main inventory
  • Covert Operative Suppressor Integration - When using the GunFighter mod with Brita's Weapon Pack, the Covert Operative trait unlocks a suppressor attachment in the canon slot
  • Expanded Profession Support - Insurgent traits can now be added to any profession, allowing for complete customization of your character’s starting loadout (New)



This add-on module enhances the original Insurgent mod by introducing a fully customizable loadout system. Instead of fixed weapon loadouts, you now have the freedom to customize your starting equipment from a trait-specific pool of options.

As an elite black ops operative, tailor your gear to match your mission parameters and personal combat style. The customizable loadout system represents the unit's access to advanced military logistics, allowing operatives to requisition mission-specific gear before deployment. Each specialist role reflects years of combat experience and advanced training in specific combat disciplines.

This mod is fully compatible with Brita's Weapon Pack and Vanilla Firearms Expansion (VFE), including the VFE STALKER pack. If both VFE and Brita/Gunfighter mods are used, a new sandbox setting allows you to choose which weapon pack to prioritize.

Please note that mod load order could cause conflicts with weapon attachments and magazine types. If issues arise, adjusting the load order of Brita/Gunfighter and VFE mods may resolve the problem.

The mod should also work with other weapon mods, provided they do not handle attachments in an unusual way. For mods without built-in support, a configuration folder can be created to set up the necessary files yourself.

Set maximum starting ammo boxes and magazines, along with fallback multipliers for weapons that lack ammo boxes, ensuring compatibility with GunFighter and Brita's Weapon Pack.

The mod organizes weapons, magazines, attachments and base items into category-specific files. These files are located in the ...\3448772333\mods\InsurgentCML\media\lua\client\OptionScreens\GunTypes\<Weapon Pack Mod>\Insurgent directory. You can edit them to suit your preferences or create new ones for additional professions.

For more flexibility, the InsurgentCML - Add Insurgent Traits plugin now allows any profession to gain access to Insurgent traits. This enables the use of customizable loadouts with any character build. By default, the plugin comes with examples for the Police Officer, Veteran, Army Ranger (SecretZ Operations) and Delta Force (SecretZ Operations) professions set up.

Documentation for adding or removing professions can be found in: ...\3448772333\mods\InsurgentCML - Add Insurgent Traits\media\lua\client\OptionScreens\GunTypes\Professions.lua.

Weapons in this mod are categorized loosely based on their real-world counterparts. Since the mod only features broad categories, some weapons may not fit their exact real-world classification. For example, carbines might be placed in categories like Precision Rifles or Pistols, even if they don’t strictly belong there.

heyo! Saving-Loading loadouts doesn't work (at least for me), like it gets resetted and doesn't remember which weapons got selected + modifiers, is this intended or is it just a small thing that could be added?

PNV got taken down it seems... I keep losing mods mid playthrough. Anyone have a backup?

@Hammy I just tried it with my hosted game and it crashed on boot up do to a mismatch in files between server and client.

Just having an option somewhere to remove that parachute would be great as the gag is wearing a bit thin for me.

@JOMBi After a quick bit of research, the only potential issue I see is that the config files for professions are currently stored in the client folder. That means players could technically add any items they want to those files without the server being able to block it. I’ll probably need to move the config to the server side instead. I’ll look into that over the next few days!

@JOMBi That's a great question! In theory, it should work on MP servers just fine. That said, you might need to tweak the server's anti-cheat settings accordingly. If you run into any issues, feel free to let me know. I’ll do my best to help out!

@JOMBi That's already implemented. Just check the ItemTypes.lua file for the Insurgent profession. You only need to remove that line from the file.
