ZG SSC DerNiepe 2 [Crafting Base]

Description
This 'Stacked Silo Crafter' somewhat abuses the 'physics optimisations' of anchored bases by intersecting the contents of many Silos. Warning: un-anchoring causes the resources to be pushed outwards. When full to the brim, this bulge may make it impossible to re-anchor and may eject some resources!

This is my rearrangement of DerNiepe's original design, which can be found here on the Workshop: "Simple StackedProd". It was made and tested in collaboration, for section 13 of my Complete Guide to Crafting.

He also has a larger variant, with dual fabrication lines, that can store all Components in separate Silo stacks, too: "Scrap N Craft All V6".

This crafting base design is ideal for those wanting to collect and deliver raw resources. You can also Fabricate them into Compressed Resources Blocks, in the field. It's been carefully designed to be as flexible as possible. It's ultra-compact Silo storage system retains optimal crafting times.

Operation:

(1) To stock the base, either deliver resources to the Reciver array (e.g. using a tech with just Collectors attached), or scrap Resource Blocks on the other side.

(2) Dual Refineries process all raw resources supplied to the base, in half the time.

(3) Dual lines feed the Silo array, reducing backlog, so you don't have to wait too long for unloading.

(4) 100 resource chunks are stored, of each of the 11 refined types.

(5) The Node Silo array indicates which resources you have stored (in the order they are listed on the Filter selection).

(6) Excess resources can be automatically sold, but default is to return them to input, so you can turn them into compressed blocks instead (manually).

(7) The 3x3 Silo atop the stack is an overflow workspace, where you can set the Filters to either sell, recycle or temporarily retain chunks by type. IT'S NOT A STORAGE LOCATION.

(8) If you want to craft with raw resources, remove the Refineries from the input side you are using and set the Filters to pass in all chunk types. Alternatively, attach a Scrapper directly to the work space Silo atop the stack and scrap low level basic blocks.

(9) The 4 Component Factory setup is the minimum needed to make any block (and is faster than any other 4CF setup, even faster than 6CF loops, for most block types).

(10) Swap out the Fabricators as needed, to make blocks from different corporations.

(11) Simultaneously Fabricating 2 blocks that need Exotic Components may cause a scheduling deadlock. (To fix: remove and re-add the vestigial Refinery, underneath, to 'reboot' the Component Factory allocation, without loosing the resources in the Fabricators.)

(12) Tech can be loaded with only GSO level 4, if you first remove the Exotic Dongle, Venture SCU, Fabricators and Scrappers from the other corporations, and replacing the mobile delivery canons with the bigger, anchored type.

Campaign loading:

• Subscribe to this Workshop item, above.
• Go to Creative mode in TerraTech.
• Click the "Load" button (bottom left of screen) and find it in the "Steam" tab.
• Remove any blocks from the tech that you don't yet have in your play-through.
• Re-snapshot the tech, so it will now be stored as a local snapshot with your own techs.
• Load as normal in Campaign.

Ah HA! A Friday!

Yes, I was most definitely hooked on ESO and spellchecking my guildies Discord posts! lol

But seriously, despite it's age, your guide has really helped me "get" TerraTech crafting... y'know... As much as one can!

Lol @ZoLatKam! Thanks for the correction! Fixed. Where were you when I needed you almost 4 (?!) years ago when posting this...? :lunar2019laughingpig:

Thanks for the guide, ZG!

Has helped me understand the quirks of TerraTech crafting a bit better!

That said, the link to the "Scrap N Craft All V6", above, is incorrect - It also leads to "Simple StackedProd".

The proper link should be: " Scrap N Craft All V6 "

@ianp101 - I'm really glad that you found it and are making use of it! It's a cool design and it seemed like it was a little overlooked.

Green subscribe button above, and follow the instructions ^there^ for campaign loading. You'll need to be using the game through Steam, of course.

If you have a non-steam version then yo ucan download the image file from my guide and put that ".png" into your TerraTech snapshots folder. https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1191458767
