Description
A simple "Compressed Fabrication System" all-crafter, bug free and low lag, with one dedicated Scrapper per resource type. Flat layout for easy access and understanding, with only 4 Component Factories it's minimal but fairly fast. Fixed and update version of the popular original "CFS Perhonen" tech.

As featured in episode 5 of my crafting playthrough.

Licenses: GSO 5 (can be GSO 3 if stripped down in Creative mode, before re-snapshotting).

Links:

• Related crafting techs in section 11 of my Complete Guide to Crafting. Examples:
Harvester bricker - efficient and capable little gatherer of rocks and renewables.
Compressed Block converter - simple tech for bulk Compressed Block conversion (manual setting).
ScrapperSellerBricker - automatically converts or turns loose or scrapped resources into Compressed blocks, selling any Components.

Function:

Uses Compressed Resource Blocks in a 'cartridge' style system; the central array of GSO Node Silos supplies the demands of the Crafting line and indicates which of the 11 GSO Scrappers have been exhausted.

Each GSO Resource Block contains 24 Chunks. So, with 6 stacked above a Scrapper, plus 2 buffered inside (invisible), that's 192 chunks waiting to go. More than 2 full (3x3) Lotsa Silos per resource, over 2000 chunks total.

This method avoids the frame rate drop of an equivalent base using only Silos. Or the tedious process of figuring out which resources are needed in a smaller, mixed silo system (and manually refilling with smaller Compressed Blocks).

This is a 'bare bones' crafting setup. Please customise it for Campaign play, with Bubbles, Batteries, defences, etc.

Usage:

(1) WARNING!: clear area of loose GSO blocks before loading in! (Due to scrappers on this base.)

(2) The GSO Fabricators can be switched out for any other Corporation's.

(3) Set Pacemaker to Turbo. :-)

(4) Load up the Scrappers with GSO Compressed Resource Blocks in any order, provided you are always consistent. (Suggested order marked with blocks below Scrappers.)

(5) The SCUs are there to prevent the dedicated scrappers from accidentally grabbing loose blocks and jamming up the system.

(6) The spare Scrapper and big silo at the end are for supplying raw resources from low level blocks, to make other low level blocks. You're unlikely to need this, once in mid-late game. (This is not a selling base!)

(7) To drain all the Scrappers of residual resources (e.g. before moving the base): set the Filter to "All" and then try to fabricate a Resource Block of each type, until all Node Silos are empty. The Filter will 'steal' the Resources away from the Fabricator to be sold from the 2x2 Silo.

(8) The Canons at the end of the conveyor will also get rid of any spuriously sent resource chunks (from Crafting glitches), to prevent jams. (Hopefully very rare with this setup.)

(9) The Refinery is primarily vestigial - currently needed to make crafting Exotic Components actually work (a bug). But it can also Refine a continual stream of raw collected/scrapped resources, if needed. E.g. to turn them into Compressed blocks. (Not a main function of this base!)

Removing and re-adding the Refinery will also reset the crafting allocation - a kind of soft reboot, that will retain the Fabricator's stored resources while hopefully unsticking a minor deadlock problem.

(10) Don't try to craft 2 high level blocks simultaneously, as it may cause deadlock.

System: this tech is part of a systematic way of harvesting, mining, buying, converting and using Compressed Resource Blocks. By far the best way to craft in TerraTech 0.7.8.0. See the other Workshop Techs in this collection.

These are featured in my "Complete Crafting Guide" here on Steam, or on the official forums[forum.terratechgame.com].Great if having problems, or building your own crafting system. 😊

Change log:
• Problematic dongles removed (old Perhonen would deadlock trying to craft certain top level blocks).
• Delivery Canon assembly tweaked to be more user friendly.
• Scrappers move closer together, making tech slightly more compact (thanks to physics optimisations for blocks held for scrapping).

Campaign loading:
• Subscribe to this Workshop item, above.
• Go to Creative mode in TerraTech.
• Click the "Load" button (bottom left of screen) and find it in the "Steam" tab.
• Remove any blocks from the tech that you don't yet have in your play-through.
• Re-snapshot the tech, so it will now be stored as a local snapshot with your own techs.
• Load as normal in Campaign.

@DudeCorner - Do you mean that it's a big tech to build? This is literally the smallest compressed crafting system design possible. Although you can use communal (large) silos for resource storage, if you want to reduce the number of scrappers.

Or do you mean that crafting blocks takes a long time? Again, this compact layout of component factories is fairly close to optimal for crafting times. Provided it's used correctly, with all scrappers stocked up.

You can get a crafting AI bug, if you've added the fabricators before the component factories, though. That will block exotic component crafting most the time time. So always make sure to remove, then re-attach the fabricators (of any crafting tech) before using it.

It barely works for me... Maybe make a version that takes a little less time to complete

YES YES YES!!!!! :D MORE LANES IS ALWAYS BETTER FOR SPEED!!! :D

@Addy - No problem at all. Go for it! I made a triple conveyor line CFS base by going more 3D, so you can check this out if/when you're done with your own ideas: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1200449413

i actually found this base in my campaign quite awhile before i even knew it was a thing lol but i do have to say there is 1 thing that bothered me but its just because of my own personal taste with fabrication/scrapping bases needing to work fast so im trying my best to modify it with 2 lanes :) hope your not insulted by my choice?

Thanks @Liquid Monkey, that's very validating. Although I didn't expect this Component Factory setup to be so near optimal for crafting higher end item's, too. Kinda disappointing, heh. (Although I do still have addition bulk crafter designs up my sleeve.)

(Your name is somewhat familiar, by the way, but I guess you didn't used to go by the name "Liquid Ape" in Lord of Ultima, years ago...?)

I spent nearly 20 hours trying to build the perfect crafting setup, using this as a reference. I cannot improve upon perfection. I now run 3 of these pumping out all of the blocks I need, with no added lag. Awesome!

@Electr1cLASer - you certainly can just swap out the scrappers on this tech for GeoCorp, yes.

It's not much of an improvement in capacity, oddly, because just one GeoCorp resource block hovering above them gets in the way of being able to click more in, manually. So you'd have to refill the scrappers just as often, but it takes fewer clicks.
