Compressed Crafting Guide Example Techs
17 items
Description
A two channel scrapping base that automatically turns all extracted (or collected) Resource chunks into GSO Compressed Resource Blocks, selling all Components, in parallel. Can automatically convert from other corporation's Compressed Blocks.

Licenses: GSO 3 (and GeoCorp 3, Venture 3, Hawkeye 3 due to scrappers that can be removed before re-snapshotting in Creative mode).

Links:

• An example crafting tech in section 11 of my Complete Crafting Guide.
• This is the ultimate tech for making GSO Compressed Resource Blocks for "Perhonen" Compressed Fabrication base.
• Related techs - harvester bricker is better for collecting and compressing raw resources, while Compressed Block converter is recommended for converting large quantities of one resource type between corporations.

Instructions:

• Load in Creative Mode first, to remove any Scrappers you don't have access to in Campaign.
• Set each of the array of 11 Fabricators to craft the Compressed Block type corresponding to how the Filter in line with their input port are already set up. On repeat!
• Set Pacemaker to "Turbo".
• Place an SCU way out in front, so it just collects the Compressed Blocks, without stealing from the scrappers.
• Try to mix up the resource types you are scrapping; if one of the Fabricator's buffer Silos becomes full, the overall through-put will be slowed to 1X speed, when the Filter loop backs up.
• De-anchoring (e.g. in build beam) may cause some resources in the sideways Silo stack to be kicked out.
• Fabricator's progress will be retained when picking up the tech, or re-loading the world. But sending it to inventory will loose partially Fabricated blocks.

Options:

• Optionally anchor a Scrap magnet (on a separate tech), in the scrapping bay area. May get in the way more than help.
• Remove all scrappers for a simple resource auto-compressor base.
• Re-arrange the two pairs of Scrapper Conveyor arms as you like (e.g. to present a flatter front or wider dumping space).
• Simple to retro-fit GeoCorp Fabricators in place of the GSO Fabs, to supply Compressed Resource 'cartridges' for the CFS Godzilla Optimal crafting base.
• Build in Batteries, Bubbles and other defences as you see fit.

Campaign loading:
• Subscribe to this Workshop item, above.
• Go to Creative mode in TerraTech.
• Click the "Load" button (bottom left of screen) and find it in the "Workshop" tab.
• Remove any blocks from the tech that you don't yet have in your play-through.
• Re-snapshot the tech, so it will now be stored as a local snapshot with your own techs.
• Load as normal in Campaign.

@joshuavorm - well, not with this tech, for a start. This one only makes resource blocks.

Go take a look at section 7 of my guide (and try out some of the example crafting bases at the bottom): https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1191458767

i think one time i found one of your bases where i just scrapped one of each resource block, and started the fabricator and the component things started to just craft the components and made the payload terminal
Ze-Dude 1 Oct, 2018 @ 11:30am
how in the world do you make the components for a payload terminal (for examply) just by crafting the block?

yeah, That's exactly what I did in campaign, I still think theres rooms for improvement on that

I think you have to start specialising your design into what type of block(s) you are going to scrap with it. Starting with the common ones, like GSO or GC blocks, which are all made from the same 2 resource types, each. So you could then focus your Component Factories on using those, maybe...

I know it's not viable to craft resources into components that's too complex, but I was thinking that isn't there a balance point that can boost the overall efficiency and also not too complex??? (:/)7

The entire point of this build was to make Compressed Resource Blocks as refill cartridges for other crafting techs. I didn't really want selling to be a part of it, but there's nothing else you can do with all the components you get from scrapping... Unless you build a massive storage system, which is generally a bad plan, or at least not nearly as useful as one might think, very limiting.

I've thought about auto-crafting resources into higher level components, for profit, but I don't see any point. The markup on bought blocks/resources is too high to be possible to make a profit from processing them. And the necessary complexity is way too high with using chunks from scrapping, given that you get such a range. It's WAY easier to just add more Erudite farms.

I was thingking that can someone come up with a better scrap'n selli system,
I found out that it turns into more money if you craft refind resource into more complex components.
I've tried that my self but did't come up with a universal system to do that,
and I think maybe you're the right person for this : )
