[WOTC] Halo: ODST (Vers: 1.2.1)

Description

While the concept of dropping human soldiers from orbit had been around since the mid 21st century, the first iterations of the ODST weren't established until 2129. One of the names for these iterations were the "Drop Jet Platoons." Officially, the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper came into being in 2163.

At the conclusion of the Rain Forest Wars and the Jovian Moons campaign, the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers were a fully established force and participated in every high risk operation during those conflicts. However, the conclusion of these conflicts in 2170, along with the signing of the Callisto Treaty and the subsequent years that followed, the ODSTs saw little action as more political, and more important issues such as overpopulation and famine and a massive military with no purpose gripped the postwar nations of Earth.

Uploader's Note:

Welp, from now onwards, you can expect more halo uploads from me, more so than Star Wars. If any of you liked my Star Wars Clone workshop item, then you would know how I like to do things. I rely on suggestions and bug reports to make this mod top notch.
Why yes! I put extra effort with the description to compensate for the quality of the actual mod.

Current plans:

- Bring in more items in for this mod.
- Elite Sangheilis (W.I.P)
- Gunman's Reach Marines.

-Add part names By Robojumper:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=878158600
(To add names to the legs and torso)

-Empty Deco slots By MrKablamm0fish:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1127014384&searchtext=empty
(Enable TorsoDeco, shins and thighs slot, almost essential for this mod.)

-Halo Reach Spartan By Eternal:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1235801965
(Some good mix and match with the helmets.)

-Halo ODST Buck VP By Me:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=630254147
(A voicepack I did sometime ago, people says they have no issues, but I don't know.)

-Halo Marine VP By The Pink Panzer:
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1135313644&searchtext=stacker+voice
(Stacker and ChipDubbo voicepack, only stacker seems to be working for me, but still a good voicepack, fits well with the enviroment)

-Halo 3 Marine VP By CapRum:
http://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1305158038
(Good Halo 3 Marine voicepack, plenty of lines as well as included Mickey from ODST)

The assets used in the mod belongs to 343 industries and originated by Bungie, I will not take a single cent nor any donation as this mod is used for non-commerical uses only.

Although I do not have the exact date of when these updates will be lives, I do roughly have a list of what will be coming.

- General Improvments updates.
- Variants update

Q: When will [Insert ODST name here] come?
A: Eventually as I bring on the updates.

Q: When will do [Insert Request] ?
A: Probaly not.

Q: Have you completely abandoned us Legacy players only?
A: Nope. Not yet.

Q: When will the legacy version come out?
A: This question is inevitable for sure. To be honest Im not certain, I'd say when I have no more planned update for this mod, but keep in mind, that anyone with the least bit of experience with the XCOM SDK tool would tell you that porting from WOTC to legacy (Or the other way around) will make in huge quality differences, and that would take time to ammend.

TLDR: Maybe, I don't know, I can't make everyone happy.

Q: Since you're a lazy rotten ass, how bout I make this mod Legacy compatible
A: Hey man, as long as you have the know-hows, sure go for it, just let me know beforehand.

Q: What is the planned updates?
A: Check out the suggestion discussion or any of the pinned thread, I want to get as many ODST variants as I can think of. (Kitbashing)

Q: Can I use this mod to make my own custom ODST or pluck one of the assets for my own mods?
A: Generally, I'd like it if you ask me first, or at the very least credit the proper people. But what can I do to stop you?I'm just a bunch of sentences in a description.

Q: Will heros be able to use the ODST customization options?
A: At the moment no, but eventually I'll get my lazy ass up and actually do a proper job.

UncleGunman:
For porting the original Halo ODST assets, and for rigging the base skeleton. (Seriously cut me alot of time)

CondensedTurtleFlesh:
For refurnishing the materials and textures, bringing the ODST to WOTC, as well as add more customization items in.

E3245:
For porting in the Andromeda armor pack which I used shamelessly as reference.

Team CreativeXenos:
For tolerating me with my stupid questions.

The Fox:
For making some custom textures for me to add, Kudos!

Spart117MC and E3245:
For allowing me to use their MGSV assets for kitbash.

Bungie:
For making this stellar models.

343 Industries:
For owning the Halo series.

Please, your feedback in the suggestion thread will assist in improving this mod overall quality.

Fantastic mod! Been in my load order for sometime. I've enjoyed it a ton and had many solders clad in the gear of the Helljumpers themselves.

Hello, here to ask permission to use these assets to createa a new "friendly" faction for xcom. Basically sitreps that deploy odst on xcoms team to aid them.

Sorry other then NMPD Chests and helmets.

The models are amazing, thank you so very much!

1 issue I've noticed tho is that the NMPD Chest is way TOO BIG, and I gotta ask mate, are there any other pieces to it? I can't find any others.

I'm trying to make some officers and I can't find the right pieces, at best I use the Halo Reach Trooper mod to give them the upsized similar trousers and arms.

Enjoy the variety of customization options but gonna have to remove the mod from my save because mixing and matching with non ODST gear is a no-go. huge, glaring holes in the mesh make it a really ugly pack in most cases, but when you're making straight ODSTs this is the best one out there! So good work on this pack, but not what I need sadly

Do you get the armor from the start of the game or do you have to play a bit to get the armor, I’m new to x on, I subscribed to several mods (including this one) but I can’t tell. If they are active

I have to say that I love these armor mods over the spartan ones, ODST forces seem a lot more thematic to XCOM rather than Spartans. Thank you for making this mod!

Why are the armor pieces in this mod so low resolution for me? The helmets show up fine but everything else appears blurry and way more low res.
Yhoko 18 Oct, 2021 @ 9:29pm
this mod says it's missing a dependency?
