A naughty jigsaw ;)
This game is well worth the money I think. If you enjoy doing some simple puzzling and looking at pictures of naked anime girls then this could be for you.

You're completing pictures featuring naked or scantly clad anime girls in all sorts of different situations. From standing under a shower, having sex, flying through the air using a pair of wings and one even finds herself being tied up. And as mentioned none of them wear much clothing ;) Once you finished the puzzle a (repeating) animation will show you exactly what's going on. Nothing state of the art, but it's amusing. However, this doesn't happen with every picture; when writing this review I came across a cute catgirl who found herself on the wrong end of some kind of tentacle monster but that was apparently a bit too difficult to animate, so you only got to see a larger version of that image at the end.

There are tons of pictures in this game. I've been playing for a little while now and I think I'm not even close to the finish.

The pictures themselves look good I think. Some better than others, sure, but the overal quality is very decent. While you're puzzling you get to hear some background music. It's nice I think but can get repetitive after a while.

In conclusion....
Puzzling with naughty pictures featuring naked anime girls. Considering the amount of pictures (levels) that are in this game I think it's well worth the money. It's nothing too special, but fun to kill some time. The girls look cute and they get into all sorts of different situations; from showering or having sex right into a tentacle attack.

How RTS should be!

Disclaimer: despite my cheerful opening header I didn't manage to win one single battle. I have my reasons (zoom out enough and your troops become small squared icons... what is what?!) but I also recognize the possible solution: a change in my tactical approach.

When it comes to RTS games many people (myself included) will tell you that Command & Conquer is the mother of all RTS games. It was most certainly one of the first in the genre and it has a devastating impact. But within context the same can be said about this title!

Modern setups = modern advantages!

This is what truly impressed me... do you have a 2nd monitor on your computer? I have. And isn't it kind of odd that no game in existence (at least that I know off) doesn't take any advantage of it? Well... get ready to have your mind blown because Supreme Commander 2 does just that!

If you set it up you can use your 2nd monitor and determine how you'd like to use it. The most obvious choice: a map! In other words: no matter what happens and where you focused your main screen on: your 'backup view' will always show you your map, no questions asked.

And that is what makes 'SC2' as true modern day RTS classic.

A good & fun game, but with several issues....

I've been eager to play the Elder Scrolls Online ("ESO") for some time now and when I saw that I could pick up the game for roughly E 7,- I was sold. Well, if you're used to Skyrim then this game requires a bit of an attitude adjustment; mainly because of the different controls and because the fighting interactions go a lot faster. Also your inventory restriction is now based on the amount of items you own vs. their weight.

Still, it's something you'll soon get used to and before you know you'll run into familiar looking characters like the Khajiit or the elves. You can get quests either by following along the things that happen around you or by actively seeking out challenges yourself. I've been in cities which looked to be pretty quiet, merchants only. Until I found I shady figure, decided to talk to them and before I knew I was caught up in trying to figure out conspiracies and put a stop to several evil schemes. That was quite fun!

Not a clear story though, which can overwhelm new players....

The main problem for new players who are familiar with Skyrim is that ESO does not really have a main story. Instead the game consists of tons of so called "DLCs"; additions to the game (only available in-game) which consist of a specific area which in its turn is filled with many locations to discover and quests to undertake. Note that I am not talking about DLC's (or 'expansions') which you can buy on Steam, I'm talking about in-game DLC; "game blocks" if you will. Once you finished such a DLC then it's time to move onto the next. So don't expect a "main" quest together with tons of side-quests: everything behaves in the same way.

Sure; there are guides out there which can tell you which DLC's you can play (and in which sequence) in order to get a feel for an "official" storyline, but even so: it doesn't change the fact that there's no real "story structure" in ESO.

Fortunately you won't "just" finish a DLC, there's some good playing value here. I've been going at it for a few hours and only put a small dent in finishing the amount of available quests (and finding specific locations) from a DLC which name I forgot. Still... once you do finish up then you're going to need a new DLC; and that's going to cost you. You can buy DLC's using "crowns" which is an in-game currency, but you won't earn these crowns from playing. You only get in-game gold (no septims) and I haven't seen any option (yet?) to buy crowns using that gold.

Which is why many veterans would suggest that you consider a subscription, but only if you plan on putting a lot of time into ESO (so it's not a good idea for casual players!); for E 11,99 / month you get free access to all the available DLC's in the game, so you could keep playing for as long as you'd like.

Yah, but that also makes me wonder.... why should I?

I didn't feel rewarded from playing...

Don't get me wrong here: I'm definitely having fun playing. I even decided to buy the upcoming expansion ("Greymoor") because of that and I'm quite curious to see what they have in store for us. But that doesn't change the fact that I don't really feel rewarded for my efforts.

See, while you may get better weapons and gear (and more money) over time the enemies you encounter will also grow stronger, the game levels up with you. Which means that no matter how powerful you'll become you're always going to deal with challenging enemies no matter what. See, in Skyrim ("Elder Scrolls V") you'll notice that you've become a lot more powerful if you re-visit the areas from early in the game (like the woods around Riverwood). That experience won't happen in ESO.

And sure, getting certain upgrades like specific animals ("mounts") which can help you in combat may also make you look more powerful and intimidating, but do you really think other players would notice? Your friends perhaps, but for others you're just another random player who happens to have more stuff following him along. And there's tons of such players to be seen so.... not really very intimidating (or standing out) at all.

So I figured I'd get myself a nice house. And fully furnished (which costs a little extra) so that I didn't have to bother myself with collecting furniture and such (also because of the inventory limits). So then you end up with a virtual place of your own. Yah.... Unfortunately that's also all there's to be said: you can't do anything in your own house; it doesn't even have a real chest for you to use! So no matter how many houses you own you'll always be stuck with your current inventory limitations and you don't get any useful perks from this.

That's just demotivating.... and it makes me wonder: what's the use of progressing? Getting stronger? So will your enemies, so there's no real reward there. Getting better looks and mounts and such? You're not impressing anyone, besides: those mounts will only cost you crowns (which are bought with real money). Getting a house? Nope: it's just a static location without providing any interaction (other than sitting down somewhere) and there's plenty more where it came from. Sure, it could be easy that you can quickly teleport there without extra costs but who cares?

Besides: eventually you'll finish the DLC's which you own after which there's nothing more to do. Unless you get yourself a new DLC of course... but for what purpose other than playing & enjoying a new part of the game?

And that also shows the real problem with the MMO aspect: it quickly becomes obvious that you're in a game which was designed to keep you busy playing for a long time so that you'll be extra motivated to purchase more in-game stuff (like DLCs) using real money. But although it can be a lot of fun to explore yet another new area it doesn't change the fact that eventually it'll be more of the same without getting any really useful rewards. Because the rewards you do get are only there to make sure that you can continue playing (you get better gear so that you'll be able to stand up against the upcoming stronger enemies), they won't make your life noticeably easier. At best you get a bonus, but always for a limited time.

In conclusion....

ESO is a fun game and a really nice way to dive into Tamriel to learn a lot more about it. I also enjoy the fact that you don't really have to pay anything extra in order to get plenty of hours worth of playtime out of this. On the downside though it will quickly become obvious that this game was meant to go on forever. Until you purchased & finished all the DLC's after which nothing would really have changed.

This game is definitely not comparable to Skyrim!

This game is awesome
You know why I sometimes play "adult" games? To gaze at b00bies you say? errr, well... there's that too I suppose, but then again; turn off safe search on your favorite search engine (Google, Bing, etc.) and you'll get to see plenty (and likely end up scarred for life too, but let's not get into that here ;)).

Thing is... a lot of adult games don't take themselves too seriously yet as a result they often provide you with pretty impressive gameplay. In a good adult game it's not only about the fanservice or the b00bs or plain out pr0n; there's also a game to play and enjoy. And boy oh boy, does this game deliver!

Diks & chicks
When I first saw the title I kind of wondered if this game was about being an ***hole towards women, which would definitely not be my kind of game. Don't get me wrong here: if someone is rude to you - no matter their gender - then I definitely don't mind returning the favor. But being a ♥♥♥ for the sake of it?

Yah, picture me surprised. This game is so much more than that! It provides fan service (which, in my book, are some hot & really cute girls), it has nudity (from topless to plain out full nudity (and not just the girls mind you *g*)) and most of all: it's also one heck of a game too!

I guess seeing is believing?

Must have for 'Live is Strange' fans
.... new players: beware!

If you're new to the Life is Strange franchise then this is really not for you. Instead start with the main Life is Strange game itself, then come back to this one after you've finished the first.

Why?

'Before the Storm' tells the story of what took place before Max met up with Chloe again in the main game, and it does an amazing job too. It's really nice to visit Chloe's house again but this time seeing how it all got started. Yah, that's the problem I addresses above: if you're new then none of this will make sense to you and that could hurt your game.

Because in all fairness: a large part of the experience comes from reliving some cool moments from the first LiS game.

If you played LiS and want to play more and learn more about the characters then this is the perfect game for you!

Awesome game but inconsistent on details...

This game is awesome, in every sense of the word. Once you get on the back of your horse and travel across the land you'll more than often gasp at the beauty of your surroundings. So many details... You move past a field of wheat and what do you know? It actually moves in the wind, that's a level of detail which is easy to miss but once you spot it it also really adds up.

The story itself is easy to get into, even if you haven't played any earlier titles and are completely new to the franchise.

Finally the controls... there are many to learn and to get familiar with but fortunately the tutorial can help you get up to speed quickly enough. And there's always the in-game glossary which you can use to read up on things such as the tutorial.

So far, so good. It's obvious that a lot of attention has been put to detail and it's noticeable. The atmosphere of the game is also plain out astonishing.

But.... there are so many nice details to this game that the things which don't go right, or which don't make much sense, easily stand out. And that's a shame.

For example... In the beginning you come across an inn keeper who's very grateful that you saved their kin and so they tell you: "Food is on the house!". Great, but if you then ask them what they got to offer you you'll enter a shopping dialog and suddenly have to pay for bread and other supplies. Whatever happened to my free meal?

Some things just don't add up...

You're a Witcher; a warrior who can wield magic and who knows how to stand up against the occult; monsters, demons, etc. To this end you also carry 2 swords: a regular one and one made out of silver, which is more effective against those monsters. However... because of all this Witchers aren't exactly loved by the people, most will distrust you because of all the unnatural things you can do. And you can do a lot... Fighting, magic, brewing potions.

Yet out of everything you can do, you can't manage to repair your own gear. Once your sword starts giving out, which unfortunately seems to happen rather quickly, then you'll need a craftsman to fix it. Really? You can improve on your weapons but you lack the skills to repair them yourselves? Given the dislike and distrust amongst the people regarding the Witchers this made absolutely no sense to me. Surely such an order would try their best not having to rely too much on those who generally mistrust you?

And finally the tutorial explains a lot but not everything... During your first real quest you'll get a crossbow and it's suggested to use it in order to prevent your prey from escaping. ... if only the game would have also told you how to actually use it, that'd help. But it doesn't. Even the tutorial only mentions your swords and how to exchange between them, yet it ignores the crossbow completely. Eventually I discovered a mention of the crossbow in the spell selection screen, which also made 0 sense to me. But after I selected it I still couldn't fire; the regular button you'd use to cast spells kept casting those. Even though I had selected something completely different....

Eventually I found out, by reading the comment section of a wiki; this mentioned the middle mouse key, but it's still a bit sloppy to say the least.

In conclusion....

The atmosphere of this game is awesome and the game itself does a lot of things right. If you're into RPG's which are set in a medieval fantasy environment then prepare to get sucked right into it. The story feels fresh, is easy to follow and plain out intriguing.

There will be a few issues which may not make sense or which may come across as annoying at first, but honestly... those are also easy to ignore. I definitely recommend this game.

Bought for the wrong reasons, and still loving it! (editorial)
Disclaimer: I am about to address some controversy and I can fully understand if this isn't appreciated. If my review gets deleted because of that you can rest assured that I'll take action: I'll re-post a new review, but this time focusing on the game only. The thing is: I despise bullies and try to stand up to them.

Why I bought this game? Because of a Steam forum thread which tried to discredit the publisher. I started digging and discovered the hate campaign which is when I decided to make a statement: I bought this game without knowing what it was about, what it was like and ... basically I only knew that I would dislike the interface and I still bought it. I also won't be requesting a refund. I dislike bullies and here's me taking a stand, with my wallet. (and my profile later on) :)

About the game itself

It's the classic 2d overview where you walk around in the world and interact with items and things, when the story progresses you see a larger overview of the characters and can read the story in the text box, pretty classic. As one can see I haven't exactly played this game intensely so I cannot comment beyond this.

I can share that this game really feels nostalgic.. I actually played these kinds of games when this was pretty much the best the current computers could muster up and this game feels very authentic to that. And because of that you can definitely expect me to play some more. The atmosphere of this game is cool, I also think Eve is a cute character as well.

Fair warning: Because of what I said I can well imagine reactions. Keep in mind that I actually apply moderation to my stuff, I don't mind people disagreeing with me but I will definitely remove disrespectful & trollbait comments as I deem fit.

Awesome game with tons of fanservice
I saw a friend of mine recommend / suggest this game to someone on the forums and thus it also caught my attention. Now with the sale going on I figured I'd pick it up, well, I'm not disappointed! Far from it!

Very good story atmosphere

The game starts with a full blown Japanese intro as if you're playing in an Anime. I'm well aware that most games do this, but not all of them use a catchy melody and present an intro movie that actually makes some sense or is fun to look at. And then there's the story itself... I actually laughed a few times because it's soo silly yet still so perfectly executed...

You play the role of Io, a boy who has come of a certain age where he starts feeling attracted to women, up to a point where he can no longer really talk to them but instead only imagines them in their underwear. The only girl he feels comfortable around is his childhood friend Lilia who also happens to be a monster girl. But "fortunately" for our hero the town leader deems him totally useless for the village so it's up to Io to go check out the rumors about all the monster girls in the world turning hostile on humans. "Go see your monster girl friend", the leader says: "and then you can save the world along the way...". Totally absurd and that's what makes it so funny.

Fanservice the way it should be
Now, don't get me wrong here... There's nothing wrong with games that have actual b00bies in them, I enjoy playing those too from time to time. But I can still appreciate games like these as well; games that like to tease a lot without going fully overboard. Especially if the girls are drawn in nice & cute ways, which they are here.

See, the monster girls are under some kind of spell and it's up to you to save them! And the best way to do that is to make them feel relaxed by either rubbing, poking, or pinching them. But before you can do that you first need to get rid of all their clothes ;) So you're not only fighting monster girls, you're trying to strip them at the same time!

Very poor controls though....
The only thing I don't like about this game are the poor controls, it's really difficult to play at first if you only want to use your keyboard and mouse. You need to use the cursor keys to move around and and you can't seem to re-assign keys to w,s,a,d either. Yeah, there's a setting for this but it doesn't really do much.

However, this is only an inconvenience, it gets much worse when you want to catch a monster girl... If you managed to strip all her clothes you'll get in a mini game where you need to either rub, pinch or poke the girl. Basically you need to move your mouse over her figure and click the mouse button(s) to perform an action. When you get to see stars you know you're doing it right.

Yah... the problem though is that you don't get to see her entire body. And there doesn't seem to be a way to move the camera around so that you can also reach the other parts of her body. I saw my first capture attempt fail miserably, simply because I couldn't reach the areas I had to rub next.... that's demotivating!

Saving & random encounters...

The saving options are plain out bad. You can't save whenever you want, only when you find a camping spot in the maze or when you're at the Inn. This means that you could be playing up for half an hour or so, die, and then lose all your progress. Sorry, but in this day and age that's just bad gameplay. At the very least the devs could have provided a save option right before a major battle or something....

I know how demotivating this can be... I had it happen to me with "another Anime game" I really enjoyed playing and the next moment I just couldn't be bothered anymore. Lost 40 minutes worth of gameplay and with that lost my motivation as well, even though I made sure to save often!

Another (minor!) con are the random encounters. Sometimes it's just too much: you finish one fight, take one step and wham you're in the next. Not too bad when you're in the mood for that, but it gets tedious really quick when you simply want to go to a specific place in the dungeon to check it out some more.

Summing up....
Despite the cons (where I once again want to mention the bad saving options) I still give this game a solid thumbs up. It's really very enjoyable and simply a very good game! The voice acting is very convincing (and funny), the story is also plain out silly in a good way and I enjoy the over-the-top characters. The cute bear (?) with a panty around his neck who's ready to help save the world... it's just silly and good fun.

Also something worth mentioning: there's a lot more depth in this game than you might notice at first. Like defeated monsters (not monster girls!) who decide to help you and head over to the Inn. Meaning? At the Inn you can assign monster girls with their own monster pets which will make their attacks even stronger than before!

And when you're in the Inn anyway, why not get your favorite monster girl(s) some nice gifts they may enjoy? And rub their back while you're at it ^.^

This is a solid RPG game; it has a very fun story, shows cute monster girls which you even get to strip a little, and if you want to you can even meet up with them in their room at the Inn for more story telling and fanservice ;)

Lackluster & boring...

The game started out pretty good I think because you actually had to look carefully to find the option to begin. One could argue that this is a result of bad design, true, but I prefer benefit of the doubt. For a puzzle game I think it's fitting.

But what followed was very demotivating.

You get a bunch of random Anime pictures (this has nothing to do with Hentai, nudity or sexual contents) and in that picture you need to "Find out what's suspicious". 2 items will be vaguely flashing, you click them and then you solved the "puzzle" and go on to the next picture.

That's it, that's all; just a bunch of random Anime pictures which feature poor to average drawings of anime girls.

And to add insult to injury: once you finished a collection you'll only notice because the "next picture arrow" is gone. Guess the hidden "Play" option was a result of poor game design afterall....

In conclusion...

It's a shame really because some of the developers other titles (Seek Girl comes to mind) are actually pretty good. But this just feels like a cash grab: throw a pile of average Anime pictures together, add the most simplistic "puzzle mechanic" (you can't even really call it a mechanic IMO) and then sell the end result.

This title is best ignored.

PS....
For the record: I'm well aware of the patch which unlocks "extra functionality", but this only fuels my negative opinion; IMO a game shouldn't change itself completely like that using some kind of external patch. Also because this could potentially land us users into problems when sharing patched screenshots (anime vs hardcore hentai pics).

If you share screenshots of a game in the way it was intended: np. Sincere there is no nudity in the base game it's reasonable to assume that hardcore hentai screenshots are a big no no.

Unsatisfying (rushed?) ending....

And finally we come to the conclusion of this epic saga. This game is something else indeed, and seriously: during Steam sales this is a plain out steal, the game really is that good. And honest.. I also know developers who stick with high prices no matter the age of their game.

But unfortunately this chapter was definitely not as good as the previous ones. It felt somewhat rushed and inconsistent to me which in the end left me with a very unsatisfied feeling. Simply because several things simply made no sense at all.

Warning: Minor spoilers up ahead.

Time travel

Max discovers that she can actually travel through time and somehow "occupy" younger versions of herself. In fact, she can even alter the past, but with devastating consequences for the 'present'. It is thanks to this power that she manages to free herself from the "Blackwell serial killer" and how she comes to conclude that the upcoming doom for Arcadia is probably caused by none other than herself. Or rather: her constant manipulation of time.

And so she comes before a choice: Save her friend Chloe and let the tornado destroy Arcadia, or save Arcadia by returning in time to where it all started, but then not use her powers anymore. Which means that Chloe has to die.

Which may seem logical at first, but fact of the matter is that it's a horrible outcome. It basically boils down to "We hope you had fun playing this game, in the end everything you did never mattered and will most likely also never happen at all". Then there's the issue that this episode contains an awful amount of filler (= levels where nothing happens and puzzles which felt out of place), and all of this leads up to a rather unsatisfying ending for me.

Black/white outcome
(Spoilers!)

I also don't think it adds up... Max had the visions about the tornado before she discovered (and used) her powers, according to the story this tornado was (probably) the result of severely overusing her powers. Which she mostly did to help her friend Chloe. But it makes little sense why Max would give up so easily. At the very least she could have tried to rewind time once to save Chloe and then leave things at that from there on. After all, even Max realized that she had been using her powers quite extensively.

But most of all there's also the small issue of Max keeping her memories of everything that happened. Knowledge which she also immediately puts to use to ensure that the real Blackwell serial killer is being arrested. But... doesn't that imply that Max still used her powers? at the very least the results of using them. So one way or the other she's still changing things, yet this only becomes a problem when the game feels it should be, and that is inconsistent.

Or to put this more simple: Max using her prior knowledge to get the Blackwell serial killer arrested? No problem. Max using that same prior knowledge to hit the fire alarm in order to save Chloe? It'll be the end of the world!

That's plain out inconsistent and it leaves me unsatisfied with the ending. Which, I suppose, can be a good thing because now I'm more motivated to see what happens if I chose the other outcome.

Even so, this could have been wrapped up a bit better I think. Because the problems don't stop here... what about Kate? She got driven towards suicide and that threat never got diverted I think, also because the serial killer had very little to do with it. So I suppose she's going to die from suicide for real this time. Only this time it doesn't matter that much anymore.

In conclusion...

I'm still giving this a thumbs up because even though I may not have enjoyed the outcome as much as I hoped for, that doesn't change the fact that this is still a solid episode of a very good game. And some puzzles in this chapter, even though different, were still enjoyable.

And let's not forget the atmosphere... this game runs deep, and you can only admire that.
