The graphic fidelity in this game is amazing. It takes great artistic direction to produce the scenes, details, and effects in every frame's composition. There is really nowhere you can look in this game without being immersed in the environment.

Regarding the plot and setting - it picks up right where the last game left off: Expanding upon the alternate history of the U.S. after Nazi takeover, and the Blazkowicz backstory, but it can be more sentimental and melodramatic than one might expect for a Wolfenstein game.

My main complaint is that the sense of exploration and adventure can feel stifled - most of the setting in early parts of the game is just a big submarine with a lot of recycled scenery. Eventually you'll explore some instanced stages of the outside world. There's not a lot of alternate routes, secrets, or much clever about these level designs - just follow the main objectives, and grab all the collectibles along the way. Ironically, previous games (like The Old Blood) felt less claustrophobic, and more expansive on the Wolfenstein universe.

Also, the stealth aspect feels pointless because levels just aren't set up for it. Sooner rather than later, something will arbitrarily trigger a confrontation with heavies, and it's just as effective to clear a level by setting up camp in a cheap position to gun down all the foot soldiers and officers as they charge toward you, rather than trying to sneak around without being noticed. Stealth doesn't seem to give you much advantage, no matter the difficulty level.

Other than those two negatives - this game is amazing! You can shoot enemies' heads clean off their bodies. You can roast them into smoke particles while listening to their screams of terror. You can chop your Dad's arms off after they fail to provide you a satisfying answer to your own existential quandary. Overall I give it 5/5 stars.
