This is a really cute, fun, and simple driving game. I suggest getting it on sale, whenever it's around 10-12 bucks. That feels just right in terms of value.

My only issue with this game is the camera. Every in-game view while driving is an extremely high and far 3rd person chase cam. This gives a great view of the track ahead, but it severely limits ability to accurately observe your vehicle's speed and elevation on screen, forcing one to drive much sloppier than they could with a tighter focus or other camera styles. You can tune settings a little in the options, but it doesn't change much.

Onto the most important thing: The physics. This is arcade handling, leaning slightly toward sim-cade. I suggest turning down all the assists as much as possible for the best experience. You still don't feel like you're in total control of the car on a micro level, but this is a casual/arcade style game with less detail, so some "smoothing out" of the physics is warranted. At the very least, the overall sense of inertia is intuitive and makes perfect sense, even though everything is a little dulled in combination with the distant camera...

But it is FUN to drive these cars - and there's no reason to get too frustrated when you crash, because: You're not confined to drive in a certain style or methodology - You can be aggressive and break grip whenever you want, or you can maintain careful control depending on what you're trying to do, just like a real rally driver. It's all about sensible, speed sensitive transitions, making this a much more realistic and enjoyable experience than most modern arcade racers that implement a more simplistic or extreme physics modeling and control input.
