it's a 10 hour card-based game, designed for single-player. You're not going to sink thousands of hours into this, but by god will you spend thousands of hours thinking about it afterwards.

place to make funny sounds and left-click on bad things with other people without having to like, actually be social

It's good. It's understandable if you're having performance issues (like me!) that you might find it unplayable, but 1) I don't, and 2) it's a Good Game.

look, man, this is the best way to spend a lunch break or an afternoon, apart from like going outside or socializing or something "productive" like that nonsense.

This is pretty much two games stapled together. The main game is a beautiful platforming-lite adventure with some optional movement additions, with only two forced upgrades: wall-riding, and the eventual double-jump. You start with a single jump and a dash/air dash, and with this you can brute force a lot of puzzles that seem to need the full double jump.

And then there's the precision-heavy "bonus" void challenges. They're not necessary but they give you extra health. Except the "increased jump height" spirit. Several platforming challenges are based around the default jump height and are impossible with the higher jump. In addition to completing the challenge, there's 30 collectables per challenge, get 60 and you get an extra spirit slot to give you even better movement bonuses. My favorite example is there's a really tall area, if you schmove your way to the top of it with only the double jump, it gives you a triple jump plus there's some bells you can hit for fun.

It's a game of two systems, combat and platforming, and while you need to be okay at both, you only need to be good at one.

Cute, even if a bit simple.
