Thought all this talk about the Tree physics were just memes,

I was chopping down a very large tree in the Black Forest,

The Great Fir came crashing down and in the process knocked down another Tree,
In turn, that knocked the next Tree over,

Which then agroed a Troll whom stormed down the mountain throwing boulders at me.

My Woodcutting days are over.

Good day, fair Maidens.

I don't recommend playing The Witcher.
It's playable, It's enjoyable, but it's an old game and can be frustrating.

The Witcher is very similar to Knights of the Old Republic,
Not the Game-play,
Or even the the RPG elements,
Not even the 4 hours of browsing the Mod websites you wouldn't normally browse by following the Steam Guide to improve Graphics and Game-play.

What they have in common is both Games heavily require you to hit that F5 Save key every 2 minutes,

The reason you'd want to save often is many factors,
One being there isn't a moment in the game where you wouldn't have made a fatal dialogue mistake that missed your opportunity to spoon with the lovely Maiden,

Or the issue later on in the Game by going out of your way for a lovely Maiden to kill the plagued Assassins causing havoc in the Town.
We also got some nice Brooches we can sell for some coin.
Thanks dear Assassins.

---

Thirdly being the many Glitches,
When you're thrown into a Cell and stripped of all your items, your Inventory is magically still full but all you're carrying is regret and sorrow from installing The Witcher when you could or watched a recap video and continued on with WItcher 2.

Remember that Maiden whom you defeated the many Assassins for?
Well those Brooches are a mandatory requirement to progress a Quest.
Those Assassins don't re-spawn, you've just soft-locked your Game.
Thanks dear Maiden.

Finally got some legitimate Armour.
Before you were thrown into the Cell earlier I had a basic Leather set that was responsible for holding Trophies, an item that is used for handing in Monster Hunter Quests.
But upon returning, everything was there but my Armour, these Quests at the time were completely broken due to "Having no Armour means losing the ability to hold Trophies".
My theory, the Guard has robbed me and taken my work, therefore soft-locked my game.
Thanks dear Guard.

This Armour I cheated in has been great!
I'm finally able to complete those Quests that were glitched earlier. But this is The Witcher.
Every time you're moved from an Interior, to Exterior (Loading Screen), your Character 'refreshes'.
More so - your body is teleported to that Area, your Armour teleports on you after a 5 second delay.
This causes problems because Geralt starts randomly T-Posing in front of Maidens, then does a complete 180 degree turn.
It get's pretty annoying to have your camera hijacked and forced so often.
I'm just glad Geralts clothes weren't delayed.

If it's not Armour then it's Weapons.
Weapons are deleted randomly.
The first time I was in the Sewers, painting romantic slogans about Maidens, when I was attacked by the Drowned.
Every single Weapon had been deleted. or stolen by the man who sold me the paint.
I was to fight the Drowned with nothing more than a Paintbrush and my unfinished poetic Slogan before me.
"Her very frowns are fairer far Than smiles of ....."

All in all,
The Witcher isn't for everyone,
I'm on the fence with it,
literally on the Fence, Geralt somehow glitched in between the Fence and I'm completely stuck,
But It's a good thing I've been regularly using that F5 key.

After failing to complete the Tutorial due to difficulties and badly written instructions that only leaves more questions, I gave the Story a chance.

You appear on a Beach and walk to a random guy who set up camp.
Next minute you're at a big Fishing town and locked in a 20 minute dialogue about how something happened before you were born and you have to pay off the debt.

After passing that hurdle I realised I had no idea what I was meant to be doing.
I'm supposed to help people in the town in order to gain favour.
I walked around for 20 minutes, picking up items, nearly died of thirst, found a cave with enemies in there in which I did die against,

Explored outside, came in contact with some Enemies I could NOT escape from no matter how far you ran while depleting your Stamina, there was literally nothing you can do.
You're hardlocked into combat and will be forced to kill yourself to escape.
Stamina doesn't recharge in combat either, so you're automatically dead if you miss the first few swipes or run too far away trying to escape. Yep I died.

No idea how people are enjoying the combat in this game, you can't stand still and Attack obviously,
and you can't roll and attack either because he does a slow somersault like a fat kid and expects to evade attacks,
but by the time he rolls and gets up there's been no improvement to dodging and you're right back where you're started about to get hit.
The same applies to your skills, you get hit midcast. Oh, I died.

The map doesn't work.
It's a static map, you have no idea where you are on the map, I can't find the Town, I'm completely lost.
Ended up dying again and I re-spawned at the town, apparently someone found me.

I've realised how the busted mechanics and boring atmosphere make this game as dull as it is.
Developer needs to read some of the discussions and reviews to figure out where he went wrong.

You get skins,
only which are accessible after completing the Game once.

So here's what happens,
You beat the game and try on a few piece of costumes, glide around for 5 minutes then quit the game and never play it again.
Why developers do this is beyond me, could of had much fun costume changing throughout the playthrough.

It's a Movie with very little player involvement.
Good story, Good acting.

There's nothing bad about Beyond: Two Souls,
The story is decent enough.It's just not the " " " game-play " " " I expected.
Whoa bug, did that really need three sets of quotes.

------------

The game-play consits of moving your mouse left, right, or up for a cinematic action, and the W key. Nothing else is needed.
An example would be moving your mouse left to roll over in your bed, move it up to get up out of the bed, afterwards you're welcomed with a cutscene.

The cutscene quick-actions can get quite confusing to say the least, whether this be combat or within a cutscene in which you need to dodge environmental objects - The kind you'd find in Tomb Raider.
You've been taught through the tutorials that there's two different ways of fighting but only one works dependant on the situation.
You swipe left, or you swipe right.

If an enemy called Bob approaches you with a Knife, swipe TOWARDS Bob!
Oh? You were stabbed?
I guess you were meant to swipe away from Bob to dodge.

Bobs mate George is now approaching with a Knife, this time you swipe AWAY from George!
Oh? You were stabbed again?
I guess this time you were meant to swipe towards him to disarm.

(???????????????????????)

Most times you can't look around your surroundings because the camera is forcibily preventing it for the fact that areas are linear and you're forced to look forward, so the only relevant keys needed is W.

To make the Movie feel more like a Game, they've created a mockup gameplay feature in the form of "Choices"
Your choices MATTER, in a sense.

By choosing the wrong Choice, scenes are straight up 100% skipped and deleted from your playthrough and you are taken to the next chapter without knowing any differently, you've missed upwards of 20 minutes of content.
You are self removing scenes from this Movie for no valid reason other than to have a feeling that there was a choice.

I really wonder how quick you'd complete this game if you chose all the boring scenes you're not supposed to choose but are given the choice anyway..

*Go to the Party, Dance, Play Pool, Play a Song on the Karaoke.
*or literally the opposite of above and just sit there like a stoned Duck

Hollow Knight is a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥' maze
Sideway thumb recommending it, if you have spare time in your life.

Starting the game and for 2 hours you wander aimlessly until you get an idea on how to play.
You've explored everything to your abilities, you're completely lost.

There's nowhere to go.
There's no hint on where to go.
The same chasms are being explored again, and again, hoping you'll find something that's supposed to guide you in the right direction.

By sheer luck you'll find an upgrade that lets you Dash, this will help in areas you missed earlier and didn't think anything of it.
Unfortunately I don't remember where these were, and the Markers only occurred to me now from the shop which can be used on the Map through Inventory, not the actual Map by holding Tab to mark areas on your Map of interest.

I wander aimlessly for another 2 hours+ until I realise this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥' ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and look up some hints on Google.
Yeah turns out this game does NOT hold your hand.

After finding the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ area where you have to use your Dash ability to progress, you get another ability enables you to wall-jump.
I hope for your sake you marked those spots in your first 2 hours of playing - because that's common knowledge.
Back to wandering aimlessly to find the correct path to wall-jump.

The maps are HUGE.
I strongly suggest if you get anything from this review, to mark EVERYTHING ON YOUR MAP.
I had no ♥♥♥♥♥♥' idea this was even possible until I was a few hours in and everything had been explored, while I was farming 1000 currency.

While we're on the topic of currency, if you don't go back to your original death spot to reclaim it which isn't stated, then you lose it all.
This was my first rage quit. What a waste of another hour of farming.
Since then if I've nearly died on the way back to my original death I've found myself Alt F4ing the game as a work-around which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

---

As it stands, Hollow Knight creates an enormously large play-through that has been proven the game can be beatable casually within 5 hours with proper linear hints.
"Explore X", "Gain X Ability", then "Explore X"

If you decide to pick up Hollow Knight, I recommend marking the Map all the time, and even skimming a Steam Guide in order to roughly know which *AREA* you should be in.
As I was running in circles back in the starter areas.

tldr; No clear path, got lost, rage quit after losing all my ♥♥♥♥ on death, got lost again, literally exhausted after 5 hours of playing this maze game, becomes a burden to play when you have a library full of other games

There's no consistent beat during the different music that's played during the levels.

It's off putting when it's supposed to be a rhythm game but instead I've turned off the music in the settings and focusing on the floor changes in order to move.

The music is fine, but keep the damn consistent beat so I can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ actually work out when to move.

Pass.
