Not a game I can recommend whole-heartedly. While it is a fun game for fans of Dragon Ball, this game unfortunately suffers from lazy developers and a terrible porting job.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is the sequel to the original game, made within a very short period of time, and it shows. This game is more of an update to the original. While I would say that the changes made are worthy of a sequel, I can't help but feel that they really didn't try all that hard. The biggest change is the hub world. The main area is now a vast area where you can fly about, unlike in the first game where you had to go through loading gates if you needed to go shopping or go off to a quest.

The biggest gripe I have on the game is the constant crashing. Raid Bosses are the end-game content, and pretty much every attempt at them is a 50/50 on if the game has you crash in the various methods it choices. That's not to include the random lag that occurs now and then that usually wipes the team. My favorite of all though is that picking "grandma" as your nickname will literally crash the game no matter what.

The game also has some great BS like when an attack that needs to be sent back to the enemy goes outside the bounds of the level, making you have to cry as you watch your fate steadily come crumbling down.

This game is a faux MMO and while it can be fun, it is horrible broken and lazy in so many ways. I would only recommend this game to fans of the series that really want some occassional fun and are ok with lossing progress and having the game crash on them. 4/10

This game is amazing. Featuring crazy good music with adrenaline pumping action. If you want something that makes you feel like a badass while laughing at how much fun you are having, then I can highly recommend this to you. Even after months of playing other games I still have fond memories of this one and have to stop myself from going back and replaying it again and again.

It does have some honest problems with explaining some of the controls and can lead to some confusion. Controller is definitely a must. I'd also like to point out that the story should be taken lightly. It doesn't really make sense. The characters are mostly likeable even if they get almost no screen time and development. Not a product if you want a story to take seriously.

Early Access Review
Originally put on Steam in 2011, this game was largely purchased by gamers only because it was part of the Portal 2 ARG.

While the game was alright it ultimately fell into the darkest pits of development hell. With other games being created and finished by the company in the mean time. Now it stands as one of the longest early access games out there with little to no word from the developer in years.

Supposedly 2016 will have a release of this once abandoned game, but at this point we are more than half way through the year. Add on top of that fact that literally no one cares or remembers this game and you have one of the most lousiest and unprofessional means of handling a product that I've seen on Steam.

I can not and will not support this game and I'm surprised no one is making them take accountability for it outside of the dead fanbase.

Please wait until this game comes out. If and when that happens, please don't forget all of this and keep it in mind before buying.

Welcome to Combat Arms, Ghost in the Shell edition.

I'm going to be foward about this and say that while I have enjoyed my time with this game, it is unfortunately lacking.

However, can you really say NO to a free to play title? That's my honest opinion on this game. Lets break down what I enjoyed and had problems with.

    Pros:
  • The original english dub cast returns to fulfill their (minor) roles in this new game. (The SAC dub that is.)
  • Game is free.
  • Appears to be an even playing field at the current time of writing with those that spend money and otherwise.
  • Has a Ghost in the Shell theme, which is kinda cool and novel.
  • Weapons and characters bought with in-game money last forever.
  • You get three operatives with different abilities after hitting level 5. Use in-game money to unlock the rest.

    Mixed:
  • Loading time for starting the game is a tad bit too long and is boring. It was a good idea to allow players to run around the map while they wait, but the cyber theme of it makes it useless for getting fimiliar with it.
  • If you decide to pay for character cosmetics, only you and your teammates can see it. You appear as a generic enemy no matter what. -Weapon skins are still seen on both ends though thankfully.
  • Gun recoil and control feels "wrong" to me. Definitely the most subjective thing though.
  • Outside of the theme, it doesn't really use the best aspects of the IP, mostly because those are centered around philosophy and other complicated subjects which would only really get brought up in some kind of story.

    Cons:
  • Hit detection can be a bit wonky. I'd say 80% of the shots would hit and the other 20% would have me a bit perplexed when it came to sniping.
  • Movement is lacking. Very few objects you can vault over and jumping stops all momentum.
  • In-game money seems to be a crawl as the main source of income is connected to leveling up (which gets harder and harder as you progress.)
  • The overall performance of the game is lacking. It seems to hit a spike every couple of minutes where it stutters for a second or two.
  • The performance issues seem to continue after shutting the game down, often causing me to have to restart "explorer.exe" to stop Windows from having issues responding.
  • Maps are heavily lacking. Forgettable environments and often too small in size for any tactical movements.
  • Annoying spawn protection system to counter lacking spawn points and map sizes.
  • Gun sensitivity when firing from the hip is fine, but aimming down the sights appears to be broken. Assault rifles slow mouse movements hugely, while snipers that scope in are too quick. Changing sensitivity will only make one or the other better.

Overall, this IS a free to play title, so give it a try unless you have some kind of datacap. The game has it's moments, but overall it pales in comparison to the quality and entertainment a full-fledge game would offer. That trade off might be worth it depending on who you are though.

This review is based on about the hour or so of gameplay I played during a $5 sale before returning the product. As such I am limited to what I experienced. Please keep this in mind!

War for Cybertron was a game that I heard a lot of good things about. With it being Transformers (a series that I enjoyed quite a bit in my childhood, although not quite on the same level as my brother) I was excited to give it a try. What I got was less than desirable. While I initially was reluctant to review a product that I had such little time with, I felt it was important to share my feelings about the game to give others a better sense of what they should expect / recieve.

The gameplay in this game is rather interesting. The fact that you can transform SEEMS like it would offer quite a bit of variation on combat. That's not quite true. Transforming merely seemed like another gun and a slightly altered means of transportation with flying, which is actually useful, and driving, which switches between sluggish or super sonic speed depending on your actions. This just feels clumsy and really serves more as a gimmick.

Jumping is odd. You have a double jump, but most obstacles feel like you need to use both anyway. Not solid, but I can't say it was terrible.

Camera controls. Ugh, I'm not a fan of them. Having an over the shoulder perspective is usually a hit or miss due to the fact that they often pick a side to stick with. This is USUALLY a bad design decision unless levels are built around that. This is a game that does that and isn't built for it. (At least as far as I could find control wise, correct me if I'm wrong.) Imagine hiding behind cover with a camera stuck on your right shoulder and an enemy attacking you. Due to the fact that he resides on the left side of the screen you are unable to attack him without coming out of cover.

Which leads to my next complaint. Cover is pretty much nonexistent. Sure you can stand behind things, but this feels incredibly inadequate and often leads to the damage you take feeling cheap. With a small health bar and only medkits to replenish health, it seems odd that avoiding damage is so tricky. (While I might have been bad at this game and thus affecting my view on this, I will say that I don't always suck.)

Ammo feels lacking. With most enemies taking at least half a magazine of bullets to finish off unless using a weapon with more sparse ammo (and thus being more deadly.) This means that the rigid car mode is something you'll find yourself stuck using to alleviate this problem.

Making an account for Co-op and online play is actually incredibly easy and gets major applause for it. All it asks is for a name and your pretty much good to go. No hassle and I was done in ten seconds flat. (Although adding a friend seems to be a mutual process.)

However the actual Co-op feels slapped on. Ammo and health had the biggest impact on this situation. The levels are designed to give enough for one player. When you add another robot providing support but using the same resources you start having someone (or even multiple) people in the party having to stay behind because they are out of something crucial. This could have easily been fixed by having the health and ammo work for both players, or just dropping duplicates of them.

Not only that but you'll find that if your partner runs just a little bit ahead, most doors end up closing on the other(s) before they can make it through. Their solution is to simply toss the player left behind into the next room. This is very disorienting and really isn't a good solution. Still it does get the job done.

The enviroment is definitely done well and really feels "robotic" and futuristic. The problem I have with it though is that enemies are too easily hidden and indistinguishable from the background. This might have just been a problem for me.

The story is something I truly can't speak on. As I said at the start of this, I only had about an hour or so to experience it. What I did experience though in the story was lackluster. The only thing I remember was Megatron being an absolute meanace and everyone else basically saying, DARK ENERGON IS DANGEROUS! It hit me over the head again and again, and was simply too straight foward for me to care about. Now Transformers is based on a pretty young demographic and isn't really known for deep and complex story. Still, I would have wagered that a more "mature" artstyle would mean trusting the player a little bit more on following the story.

Unfortunately I didn't get to try my hand on the multiplayer. I suppose it's possible that a lot of the fun to be had here is in this mode, but we are also talking about a game that's quite a few years old. While you might be able to round some people up, servers are going to be lacking a strong player base.

The game just feels lacking, and while some fanatics of Transformers might really enjoy this game, it just doesn't stand on its own AS a game. Still, others clearly seem to have found some fun playing it. At $5 on sale most people won't care about these problems or might find it more enjoyable than I did. For me, it just wasn't enough. Overall I rate the game about a 4/10. A below average game for me that I sadly can not recommend.

Payday 2 was a game that I had a huge interest in when it was first announced. I had enjoyed the original game quite a bit and was excited to see Overkill take it to the next level.

Me and my group of friends pre-ordered it and played it the day it came out.

What I quickly realized however, was that the game was a grind. In many ways it reminds me of what GTAV would go on to do with its own multiplayer. (Except thankfully not selling in game money for real dough. EDIT: Well, the safes kind of turn that on its head.)

Overkill promised many of things, and all I truly saw was paid DLC after paid DLC. My interest in the game majorly declined and a sense of regret for buying into this game began to emerge.

A new sale would happen though and that DLC was mildly cheap. Maybe it would increase my interest again by actually having a few new heists and some toys to play with? - That too was just adding fuel to the flame as none of it fixed the core issues. Lack of content, grindy as hell, and simply frustrating with broken mechanics. I actually feel like stealth was done better in the original even if it was more finicky. Maybe I’m just wearing rose tinted nostalgia glasses though.

I haven't played much since I bought that DLC and realized this game never turned out to be anything worthwhile compared to its older brother. None of the content promised came about. The console versions are even more of a mess and are basically incomplete products. Although it doesn't affect me personally, it isn't something I'm ok with.

Honestly, if I ever want to play this game I'll go back to its roots. At least there I won't be nickel and dimed and lied to. (P.S. This whole safe charade didn't affect me or my views, but it sure does contribute to looking worse than before.)

Explosive, hilarious, and just down right fun. Broforce brings you into a world of massive patriotism and enemies galore. Pixaleted platforming, gunplay and co-op along with some nicely implemented workshop features, allows the game to have seemingly endless amounts of fun.

I had tons of fun dying over and over, laughing at the comical moments that occurred all around me. Hell even the most basic enemy in the game would occasionally get a good shot in and send me to my grave. Never once did I get frustrated, as it was always my own fault. Soon after dying 20+ times you'll stumble upon an amazing run that ends the previously difficult level in a matter of seconds, furthering the feeling of being a complete dummy with the quick realization that you really do suck sometimes.

Along the way you'll gain access to more troops to play as. Each one being its own humorous parody of a well-known character. Not only are they recognizable by many, but they also have their own individual weaponry and skills.

If you're looking for a fast paced and enjoyable game, I cannot recommend Broforce enough. It simply is just gaming fun at the most barebones level, and I love it.

Rocket League's first DLC "Supersonic Fury" is the type of DLC that is quite agreeable. In this DLC you will gain access to 2 new cars, 6 special decals for both of them, 5 new paint materials, 2 new rocket boosts, and two new wheels.

The cars are great, featuring some rather sleek designs. The decals are pretty good and help seperate them from the other cars. The paint materials are probably the part of this I've used the most. The rocket boosts are OK, but they honestly look really similar to each other and the sound and color of the smoke they make is probably the only easily spotted difference, a bit disappointed in this regard. One of the wheels is soccer-esque, but kinda bland. The other is more of a self rotating spinner and is pretty cool.

Who is this for? Well, basically anyone that enjoys changing their car up from time to time and has some extra cash to support a game they already enjoy. For everyone else I would say save your money.

Score wise 8/10.

Serious Sam 3 takes the classic fast paced action and frantic gun selection of the early 90s and adds some nice spice from newer mechanics introduced in the modern day FPS genre.

Often I found myself wrecklessly attacking my foes as death lingered just around the corner. Vast and expansive areas filled with hundreds of enemies swarming at me. Serious Sam is not only a tight shooter, but one that has some of the most impressive battles.

What makes Serious Sam really work is the ability to truly fine tune your experience. You can make co-op a rather enjoyable and hiliarious shooter, or you can make it competitive and difficult, the choice is yours.

Dying WILL happen. This game can be out right sinister with the tricks and situations it puts you in, and only your skills and smart thinking will get you through.

However as great fun as that all is, what brings the game down is really itself. I found that often times killing enemies can get REALLY tedious and breaks are something of a must when looking to complete the game.

Single player is also dull without anyone to experience the ridiculous traps and cheesy jokes and B movie dialogue.

Multiplayer (Not Co-op) just feels a bit tacked on and really doesn't encompass what makes Sam, well, Sam. It can be fun for an hour or so, but I would really only play it to duke it out with some friends on a rare occasion.

Also, the last level is absolutely BRUTAL, and I can't imagine doing it without infinite lives and a partner. Definitely my most fond memory of the game.

Liked:
- Fast
- Action packed
- Co-op galore

Disliked:
- Repetitive

Overall, what Sam 3 does is fun. It might not be perfect and often times dull, but when you get the chance for this game to shine it can really blow you away. One of my favorite Co-op games, and something I would recommend to anyone that has just a close friend, or even up to 16 cool dudes. 7/10

Strider was a very fun and enjoyable action side scroller. Filled with beautiful lighting and fast paced fights, it reminded me of the old days of NES and SNES titles like Metroid and Megaman, along with the (of course) previous installments in the Strider franchise. (Which I have not yet gotten a chance to try personally.) I encourage the use of a controller with this game, but those on the keyboard should be able to manage.

Liked:
-Fun
-Fast
-Fluid
-Metroidvania
-Level design (in general*)

Disliked:
-Stun locks
-Poorly designed invisible walls*
-Unengaging story
-Questionable voice acting
-Anti-climatic ending
-Saving at the end of the game stops you from going back and collecting everything. Is an option not to save however. (Awesome reward for beating the final boss... /sarcasm)

Overall Score: 6/10
