Buy the pack which includes 'Anno 1404: Venice'!

It's one of the best releases in the Anno franchise. Citybuilder with timeless graphics. It's 10 years old now but still doesn't look bad, certainly not as bad as some other games from 2009.

In case you don't know the Anno franchise: An economy based city builder with a thin layer of combat and light diplomacy.

I played the ones before this one and can't remember them being this hard. I've enjoyed my time with this game, though. Might come back some day and give it another try.

It's a platformer. If you like platformers, you'll like this. If you don't, you won't.

I like.
Portals are sometimes hard to find, though.

Random generation done right. The game creates dungeons with puzzles and hints without failing. There's alway a way out. In case you don't find it, there's a "pray for help" button, but try not to use it too often.

The world also has a surprising amount of interaction. A lot of enemies, bosses, traps, weapons, potions, armors, scrolls, etc. make it fun to start over again and again... and again!

You can still find (and buy) the DLC via links in the other reviews or through steamdb.

Survival city builder done right.

Graphics look fine for a single developer project. Game balance is perfect, meaning that it's hard but if your city dies it's usually got to do with planning or layout. Just be careful when building bridges, builders tend to go work on both sides of the bridge so if you don't have many bridges they might take a long walk (which isn't the best idea in the middle of a cold winter). The achievements are all challenging. The most difficult one is the 200 year city, because even at 10x speed it's a long time. There's a lot of diversity in food, which adds to the choices you're given. Healthy diets are important to lower the change of diseases breaking out.

After little under 100 hours, I can say I've gotten all achievements. Good value for a relaxing game which stay surprizingly interesting!

Gameplay>graphics, and this game is a good example.

At first glance, it looks like ♥♥♥♥. It's a good deal of fun, though!

Don't set the bar too high and simply go in not expecting anything an you'll either enjoy it or decide to refund it. It's definately worth a try.
