Pretty damn smart love-letter to Battle Network. Making it an idle game seemed logical, given the context of the franchise it's inspired by. Looking forward to what gets added to it down the line. Here's hoping there's hours of replayability.

First thing's first; I'm enjoying the game so far as a single-player experience. I don't exactly have anyone to co-op with, so this review may not be for you.
The problems I have with this, however, are threefold;
1). The price. I hate how we're now in a time where executives believe that games need to be $10 more. This should have never happened. No game is worth that price, no matter how much time and effort is put into it. Executives should pay their development team(s) properly, not the consumer. Unfortunately, it is not and never will be a fair world.
2). The performance. Even on the lowest settings, the game looks like absolute garbage, and requires an expensive machine to run properly. I played it for a few hours, starting at the beginning, and stopping every so often to take a break and do something else. Then I got into a standard Doshaguma fight, and it finally crashed. I didn't allow it to generate a crash report, but maybe next time I will.
3). Denuvo. I kinda get why companies have to slap this onto every new release, but it's still not okay. It has been proven time and again that it causes extra, unnecessary load on people's machines, and it doesn't really work to protect against hackers and cheaters.
So if you're looking to buy this due to peer pressure, take it from me -- WAIT. Get it on sale within the next year or two. There is a lot that needs fixing for this game, and it may never happen. It might even happen too late.

Grindy. A shadow of its former self. Out-of-touch with what players want out of PSO. Timed attacks no longer exist. Content is not worth playing and is either frustrating or boring.

A heart-wrenching story about a nerdy, wheelchair-bound gator girl that paints vivid landscapes. Please hug her as much as you can.

From what I saw of 20XX, it seems to have come a long way, in terms of quality and polish.

That said, there's a few things I feel need more attention. For one, the user interface (UI) style doesn't match the spritework of the levels and characters. It looks so streamlined and anti-aliased that it feels lacking. What's more, there are several grammatical errors and typos that kinda ruin my ability to appreciate the story. The procedural generation of the levels aren't very tight, either, and some of the platforming elements and enemies blends in with the levels, so it gets difficult to figure out what I'm looking at.

On top of that, the music and SFX feel kinda uninspired. There's a lot of room for improvement in that regard. The buster SFX, for example, just sounds like run-of-the-mill sci-fi laser shots, and the hitreg sound is so muffled, it's hard to believe I hit an enemy at all.

Of course, I applaud Battery Staple for what they've been able to accomplish with this, and how far they've come since their first iteration. I just hope they don't see what they already have, and say, "Good enough." I really want to play this game more, and see it succeed. It's a great concept that needs more work. Congratulations on the 1.0 release, however!

Very charming and short romp through an office building. Watch out, 'cuz you don't have to say NO to everything!

Shadow of its former self, plus Korean grindfests are no longer fun. Broken and unable to play or log in. If you're really desperate to try this again, play a private server.

Very addictive base building sim. Very demanding in the mid-game, so you need to know how every little system works.

Nice little game that kinda borrows notes from Undertale. The songs are neat, but kinda miss their mark for me. Style is great, and so are the characters.

Kinda frustrating to navigate, but the style is great. Definitely buy this to support the devs behind it.
