There's a lot this game could offer that it doesn't have yet. It's a nice DBZ third-person fighter, but a lot of the time you have to keep grinding to get the skills you want, and even then, the PVP's not very balanced. Probably looking in the wrong direction for balance in a DBZ game, but most of it's all whiny people who can't Super Saiyan beamspam their way to victory. A lot of the time, physical-based players are outshined by the cool techniques that ki-based players have at their repretoire, and all anyone ever resorts to is Burter's tornado.

If you're looking for action and super-fast driving skills, you're looking at the wrong game. You gotta make sure you meet deadlines, follow traffic guidelines for a better trucker, GET TO SLEEP IF YOU DRIVE LONG ROUTES, and most importantly don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knock your cargo around. Go at a steady pace and don't lose all the bonuses they're offering you.

Otherwise, it's a pretty calm game.

I find this game addicting dispite how difficult it is. Everytime I die prematurely, it doesn't bother me as much, and I keep pressing the R key to start over. The image of the roguelike these days is like advertising that a product is free, until you read the small text underneath the big lettering. This is mainly because of how bad the rest of those games flow with the core mechanic.

But something about Nuclear Throne just makes me keep coming back and try to pass the damn scrapyard. Hopefully when the stars align and the RNG gods are in my favor, I'll pick up the proper set of weapons, and have access to the right trio of mutations needed to bypass all the craziness on screen.

But for now, I'll keep trying.

This game is on hiatus as far as the creators are concerned. They've got nightly build support, but it still hurts in the optimization department. There's so much more it could be if Chucklefish could stop lollygagging and focus on development once again.

Feels like a third-person co-op a la "kill all the enemies and win". Left 4 Dead comes to mind when thinking of ways to describe this, but that's immature, since I'm sure a lot of games before it and this one have done the same formula; the same can be said of all genres of video game. Despite that, the designs are pretty neat, and the fact that the Tenno suits are skin-tight give the females a very alluring look, coupled with random technological protrusions that sometimes scream fashion disaster. All-in-all, a fun online hack-'n-slash for quick bursts, but suffers from the plague of microtransactions and DLC if you want to get into it seriously. Can't really recommend it, unfortunately, but don't want to turn it down.

Make anything you can think of appear, as long as it's not a part of an existing franchise. There's a open world now unlike the previous two games, and you can also mix and match parts from other things to create a new thing, though the joint system is kinda iffy. After you beat the main storyline, there's not much else to do than to screw around, but the physics engine--if you can say there is one--is pretty meh.

Over-the-top elements don't really stick with this game. The characters are portrayed as "criminal badasses", but when I read the first game's plot synopsis, they were a gang that was supposed to stop gang violence altogether. Now they're international superstars hellbent on killing everyone and everything in their path just to get by. Oh, and they say a character's dead, but there's never a body shown after their initial "death". To me, it's just grounds for a plot device for them to return. I'm talking Gat and Loren, of course. Killbane's death is convincing, since you're right there delivering it to him.

Overall, though, it's the same addicting gameplay that GTA brought us. Though, you can take over 'hoods by buying lots, stopping rival gang operations, and doing activities. The only fun ones are Prof. Genki and Cyber Blazing; the rest are frustrating since the over-the-topness required kinda outperforms your thirst for a challenge, and instead just gives you hand cramps.

GTA clone where the X key is the handbrake, which tricks your instinct to hit the spacebar to drift. Feels kinda stale, like the game environment wasn't advertised enough or something. Still a lot of fun with the grappling hook and parachute physics, but I'm not creative enough to do ♥♥♥♥ with either.
