Hello again, this is Seiji Aoki, the Producer of the “Legacy VIRTUA FIGHTER Project”.

Today we released the "Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O." Ver. 1.03 update. With this patch the button/key setting adjustment request that many of you asked for has been addressed. I hope you will continue to share your comments, feedback and suggestions with me on our official Discord server and the VF team will continue to improve the game for you.

As recently announced, the first official global tournament; the VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship (VFOC), will begin in North American. The VFOC will kick-off with a qualifier at COMBO BREAKER 2025 in Chicago on May 23rd, and be followed by additional qualifiers in North America, Europe, Japan, and Asia (excluding Japan). Winners of qualifiers in each region will then face off in the GRAND FINALS, where the champion will receive a $100,000 cash prize. We’re excited to see all competitors from around the world battle to become the first official global champion of VF!

There will also be a special 5 on 5 VFR BEAT-TRIBE CUP held at EVO Japan 2025 from May 9-11th. The VFR BEAT-TRIBE CUP has a storied history filled with tense battles and tons of drama. I personally can’t wait to see what memorable moments and excitement are created this year.

Although we are busy preparing for the VFOC, our development team is hard at work on even more surprises to come and I will let you know as soon as more details are confirmed.

GET BACK IN THE FIGHT!

SEGA will be holding the first official “VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship” (VFOC) global tournament starting this May; featuring “Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.”!

The VFOC will have participants fight it out in qualifiers held across four regions: North America, Europe, Japan, and Asia (excluding Japan). The first qualifying tournament will kick-off in North America at 'COMBO BREAKER 2025' from Friday, May 23rd – Sunday, May 25th, 2025.

Players who win their regional qualifier will be awarded a spot to compete in the Grand Finals where the winner will receive a grand prize of $100,000.

Details of the qualifying tournaments and the participation rules will be updated on the Virtua Fighter portal[virtua-fighter.com] site as necessary, so please stay tuned for further updates.
