You don't need Synthetic Dawn DLC or Utopia DLC for this mod works.

-----------
Why this mod appear?

In 1.8, there's a chance that every decade, 12% of chance your Toaster leaders could die after 200 days, and it's Machine & Synthetic Empires Only.
I don't like my Machine leader or synth empire's leader can die from some random breakdown feature. ( While organic leaders can long live from their +1s social repeatable tech, and why in the world normal empire's synth leaders can live happily forever? )
Considering all Toaster leaders should be able to fix, this mod appear.
-----------
How does it work?

Should your hard-work synth or machine Toaster suddenly breakdown for irrational reason, with enough resources, you can fix them like it's completely new.
There are 3 ways to fix your machine Toasters (Or synth):
  • Spend several Influence ( and Unity, if you have ) to fix them.
  • Cost some Minerals and enough Energy for building them a new body.
  • Spend some monthly Energy and enough monthly Minerals for them, usually it's cheapest, but will take 1-3 years to finish.
( All these methods cost depends on the malfunction leader's skills. )
Some methods won't appear if you have insufficiently resources.
Should you don't want to or can barely afford that, you can just disassemble them, and gain all resources&data from your broken Toaster.

In addition, this mod altered the malfunction events - from Machine & Synthetic Empires Only - to all normal Empires, so every empire's synth could die.

Compatibility

No vanilla files edited.
In order to function properly, 2 events from vanilla are edited:

  • syndaw.11 : From "synthetic_dawn_events.txt".
Triggered by "00_on_actions.txt" every decade. I altered it's trigger condition from machine&synthetic empire to all playable country, for gameplay balance.
( It makes zero sence that Normal empire's synth can never breakdown )
  • syndaw.12 : From "synthetic_dawn_events.txt".
This is the gateway that handle evil 12% chance of RNG - Causing machine&synthetic leader dies for nothing, I added my mod events to it, so every Toaster can be fixed with enough resources.

Anything that alter event "syndaw.11" and "syndaw.12" will break this mod.

Currect Localisation

Crashing the game at the time of this post, whenever ran with any other leader mod. I did not independently test this by itself. Crash is replaceable 5/5. Crash occurs when loading a new game or save game.

Does the AI use this?

If you guys like this, thry Machine and Robot Expansion. You can build your own, highly skilled leaders and the Backup Server trait allows machine leaders to auto-rebuild after being destroyed.

Hi thank you for posting this amazing mod I have been using it for years now. I just noticed that my machine governor broke down (I got him from an anomaly event "caretaker AX7-b") and when I repaired him by building a new body I got a new random scientist back instead of my a governor :(. Does your event store what specific leader should come back normally? Thank you for your time.

Thank you for the mod :)
When I play as a driven assimilator and one of my researchers is destroyed, the event will trigger, but the leader won't appear in my leader overview afterwards.

If my imperial ruler "dies", does his heir automatically ascend to the throne, or is my empire leaderless until he's repaired?

hey, noticing some weird issues. when my scientist dies, I'm given the option to replace the chasis, which I do, and a month later I'm informed that my leader is back, good as new. then I go to put him in and... he's not there? I check my leaders page... I now have a governor, with a different name, and not even my species. reload and do it again, same governor. load back further, and I'm unlucky enough to have a leader die again come the start of the year. give him new chasis, and see I have a new scientist... who's not even a machine, he's a synth

I am using starnet AI, which updated recently to 2.6, however this mod is loading after starnet AI, so it shouldn't be causing any problems. I also couldn't find any other mods that edited syndaw.11. I'll try again with this mod placed below any patches, but in case that doesn't work, there seems to be a weird problem going on
