Found out this was the mod that's crashing my game every single time on siege battles.
Damn shame. It's probably the most important mod out there for this game.

Original camera sucks and this helps a lot. This mod still works and I definitely recommend it to everyone.

does this mod allow me to see underwater during naval battles?

FYI the min zoom in vanilla game is set at 2 for land and 10 for naval.
This mod set 1 for land and 5 for Naval (so it should be lower than vanilla)
You can see this in the "battle_cameras" table using Rusted packfile manager.

Also some terrain can limit camera, so make sure you test this on a flat map like "lowland" .
(the game has a low zoom limitation around some objects like buildings)

I can zoom right out (like pics) and right down for a close look, so maybe u have some other problem, like a conflict.

Mod sets min and max zooms for land and navy battles. It does not shift the zoom up. The zoom IS expanded.
(If you have rusted pack manager tool u can see this for yourself)

I think the answer to my question is 'yes'. I tested it both ways and with the mod enabled you can't really get down into the battles for a good, up-close look. I think what happened here is the range of zoom has stayed the same, but just shifted. The zoom range has not been expanded.

I'm having an issue and looking for a fix: it seems the battles are too foggy all the time, even when it's dry weather. Is there a way to reduce this effect? It only happens with this mod installed, I think the game goes nuts with the rendering of athmospheric effects.

Flag size is set by game, later tw games have this feature , so no you are stuck with the size

the enemy flags dont increase in size tho. So when u zoom out it's hard to notice them. Is there any way to fix that?

Works well for me in campaign and individual battles. Great mod. Be careful, a mousewheel spin moves the camera a lot farther. I think you can tweak that in settings or in the preferences file. Or you can just get used to it... it isn't that bad. Thank you for this mod!
