Wow, looks amazing combined with the galaxy textures.

Only issue is how it removes the fog of war - it no longer shows unexplored hyperlanes at max range as "fading out", so you can't tell the difference between a hyperlane which is actually a dead end, and one which could lead somewhere else. Makes the survey planning a lot more difficult.

Doesn't break the game any, but does remove an element of mystery introduced with the intel mechanics
Uberknight72 30 apr, 2021 @ 6:50
This mod doesn't work with the new intel mechanics.
it causes an empires entire territory borders to be visible despite having no intel

Doesn't need an update.

To all people complaining about messed-up galaxy texture: this mod doesn't contain any.
Or any graphical assets for that matter.

It's just 12 lines of code, with the "flagship" one being:
"enable_terra_incognita = no"

Here's how it looks on 2.7.2 with "Pinwheel Galaxy" mod for the texture:

I'll admit, the name is a bit confusing. "No fog of war" might have been more descriptive - but it works perfectly as of the latest game version.

Thanks for a simple but awesome mod @ButtJunkie

Will you be updating this?
LordZarmack 19 jan, 2020 @ 20:51
id suspect so mate, eitherway sorry for the trouble/alarm. That said, each time I encounter something this stupid, it's a reminder why I no longer keep my mods on here up-to date...

thanks again for your work though, much aphreciated.
ButtJunkie  [skapare] 19 jan, 2020 @ 18:51
That's a bit strange. It's only a texture, so it should have minimal effect, unless there's another mod doing something similar that relies on specific changes (or vanilla has changed in some way).
LordZarmack 18 jan, 2020 @ 15:21
-Right after the whole bloody night trying to sus this out it seems it has to be at the bottom of your load order "The exsact bottom"

Not half way, not below or near other mods "The bottom"

Here, I have seen this before but it was another mod... I was running 2.4, updated and no change.
"Removing the mod does nothing" "Changing load order changes nothing"
LordZarmack 18 jan, 2020 @ 13:37
The map looks grainy and bleeds over the edge, the core no longer glows properly either.
LordZarmack 18 jan, 2020 @ 13:36
it's bloody weird, I removed, downloaded and redownloaded but nothing I do removes the mod from my game, and then to top it nothing, not even the load order fix's the galaxy map.

ButtJunkie  [skapare] 18 jan, 2020 @ 13:14
I'll check it out. Haven't been staying up to date with Stellaris, maybe they released a patch that for some reason interferes with it.
LordZarmack 17 jan, 2020 @ 12:02
Confirmed, seems to be broken and the immage is blurred to hell.
LordZarmack 17 jan, 2020 @ 11:04
Just a note, appears to be bugged out in the last 2 days- not sure why, "up till today the mod has been working fine"

Il restart a new game and see if the graphic bug happens again.
Nova_Roma 5 jun, 2019 @ 7:08
UPDATE PLEASE! Wolfe 2.3!!!
EmeraldPhoenix 22 apr, 2019 @ 8:05
@SlashingHorse7 Can't see why not. Most graphics mods will work for a while after the version they were last 'updated' for.
SlashingHorse7 22 apr, 2019 @ 5:07
does this still work?
ButtJunkie  [skapare] 17 okt, 2018 @ 18:10
@Dirigible Tomato - sorry for the late reply, I might test this.

As for ironman compatible, I think barely anything is these days. Maybe strictly texture changes (i.e. some graphical mods, but not this one since it changes some code).
Dirigible 14 jul, 2018 @ 5:58
Is there perhaps a mod somewhere that's a little bit in between this one and vanilla? I like the colours, but I also like being able to see clearly where I've explored and where I haven't, which is a lot harder to do with the fog gone.
26 apr, 2018 @ 21:39
I couldn't figure out what mod was causing my ironman mode to not be achievement compatible, I sifted through them and found out it was this one. For anyone in the future, wondering if this is achievement compatible, it is not, in it's current state, as of 4/26/18.
bratrstvoNODKane 14 apr, 2018 @ 13:38
Cheers!

@ButtJunkie
Could you please lower color brightness of hyperlanes too? they too bright with this mod :-(
Christy ◕ᴥ◕ 18 mar, 2018 @ 16:08
Thanks very much!!
ButtJunkie  [skapare] 18 mar, 2018 @ 8:30
This version will still work for it. You can actually edit the version number of mods in MOD files found in documents\paradox interactive\stellaris\mod then the ugc files.
Christy ◕ᴥ◕ 17 mar, 2018 @ 20:34
Is there a 1.9 version?
For us legacy users
p6kocka 17 mar, 2018 @ 10:26
This mod and Hyperlane transparency aren´t working together. Hyperlanes have default transparency. Is there anything you can do wit this issue? Thank you.
dizzy 13 mar, 2018 @ 11:43
Can we have our cake and eat it too? I want fog of war and I want to see the graphic of the galaxy map and not the dim grey smudged background. I use a mod that hides undiscovered sectors' hyperlanes. So is that possible? Thanks.
Rohzdear 2 mar, 2018 @ 20:19
Mh... would it be possible to make Fog of War have color, but not be as bright as already explored space, so you can still tell what parts of the galaxy you haven't explored while not keeping everything so bleak?
Reflectere 5 jan, 2018 @ 10:57
Thanks for the updates mate.
Pepega 7 nov, 2017 @ 16:03
Holy crap why have I only just found this
Fantastic mods as always.
ButtJunkie  [skapare] 23 sep, 2017 @ 20:23
Just have ;)
Reflectere 23 sep, 2017 @ 19:22
Will this be updated to 1.8?
