I've updated this mod but wanted to confirm you have moved on before I publish. I'm posting this message because I see you are online and hope you would get it. If you don't replay or accept a friend request I'll assume you have moved on and will publish the update. Thank you for your the work you did.

Any chance we could get a high resolution in-game overlay? It's looking pretty chunky when playing on 2560x1440. :)
Taynak 3 Jan, 2020 @ 3:26am
the large connector is invisible. any fix for this?
Siv 9 Dec, 2019 @ 7:45pm
Tex, try Digi's BuildInfo mod to get rotation info and opacity and opaque object overlays: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=514062285

That should help.

@lylesonders, addendum to my last post: I know how to place the block, and where it needs to be to get the correct orientation with up/down etc. The large hull and connector versions however are not visible when they are rotated, and some rotations appear not to work though lack of a model to see make that hard to confirm.
Vegas 3 Dec, 2019 @ 8:42pm
@lylesonders, this is hands down the best docking mod out there. Every small grid ship I've built for the last two years has it and it's fairly easy to place.

The large block camera is a different story though. I just spent the entire evening trying to place one camera on my connector...and it still isn't right. Can't rotate the block to see it's position. Every time I guess at it, it's wrong and I'm either looking back at my hull or the ground. Then you have to grind the whole connector to get rid of it. Rinse and repeat...three hours flys by. I really don't want to think about a different mod at this point.

Are you still developing/maintaining it? I really hope so. I would love to see it fixed.
azfalt 29 Sep, 2019 @ 5:23am
@lylesonders, First I love this mod you created, i have used this since you first time uploaded to the workshop.

Thou i have a sugestion, since so many have dificulties in placing this awsome camera, is it possible for you to remake it, so there aint an invissible block, but a block with a "camera warning" sign, on the side facing same direction as the actual camera?

The warning sign could be something like:
"I see you, Dave" from: 2001: A space odyssey
Laffyistired 5 Jun, 2019 @ 11:08pm
is the mod working would love to use on some builds please
RageQuitBuddha 23 Mar, 2019 @ 7:17am
I can't get the cameras placed properly, they flicker in and out of existance, perhaps they are based on quantum physics! I managed to get 1 placed to the side of the connector with the flickering camera rendering a block above the connector. This mod is a great idea and sorely needed in this game but rendering bugs are hampering its functionality.
azfalt 21 Mar, 2019 @ 3:45pm
@steric_hinderance,
True it has ben with a bit duficulty to place after resent game update, but a hint is to place the connector, if in creative, grind it down to the wire grid, and then try to place the camera, because you can see the camera direction placement whidin the wire grid.
If in survival, simply place the connector and then place the camera, before welding the connector.
steric_hindrance 21 Mar, 2019 @ 5:04am
I'm having placement issues as well, but it may be due to the new update. It's difficult to describe, but when I rotate in certain directions the camera seems to either not move or flip 180 degrees. The ghost of the camera block will flicker in place for a moment and then vanish. Before you could clearly see where the camera was going to be, and adjust accordingly. I can still place the block and it "works", in that I can go to the cockpit and look through the camera. I just can't seem to get it lined up correctly with the connector so it's actually useful. Any suggestions?
Jormoongandr 22 Feb, 2019 @ 9:50pm
Sooooooooo..... higher resolution maybe :)
azfalt 22 Feb, 2019 @ 9:46pm
To place corectly you have to use your rotation options, look for a camera to show up while using rotation.
place the block in sutch a matter that the camera is placed inside the conector.

when sitting in your designated cockpit seat, place the conector camera in a quick slot and select the VIEW option, then when activated, you look thrugh the connector as shown in so many pictures...

hope this help you in your placement, it works as intended.
Grimm Spector 22 Feb, 2019 @ 8:56pm
This isn't working for me, it seems that when I go to place a connector camera no image of the item appears to preview, but if I click when the box is green it acts as though something is placed, if I line up an object against that block space it shows up, but only when I'm trying to place something against it, it then vanishes when I change to a tool. This means I also can't grind it away, and it seems pretty hard to use, this is in an empty space that I've tried to place it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong to use it.

Your welcome and thank you, wish I had more time to work on mods but work and family take up most of my days now.
2TauntU 13 Feb, 2019 @ 2:43pm
I don't write enough of these reviews/comments But this mod has me smiling every time I dock my ships OMG I love it thank you so much for your time keep up the great work!:steamhappy:
lylesonders  [author] 6 Jan, 2019 @ 12:49pm
Also when you place them you will have to rotate them to the right position
lylesonders  [author] 6 Jan, 2019 @ 12:47pm
I have checked it and they are placing right for me, but I ll check it again.
big_blue_4101 6 Jan, 2019 @ 11:43am
what i'm trying to say is that when i place down the connector, the camera is not where it should be. which is at the fron of the connector. instead it spawns one block over and half a block back. preventing me from seeing anything from the connectors pov.
lylesonders  [author] 28 Dec, 2018 @ 2:41am
big_blue_4101 Thats the way the mod is designed. it is offset to be inside the connector so that you can see what the connector would see if it had an eye
azfalt 27 Dec, 2018 @ 10:39pm
Still works great, maby you need someone to create a youtube clip about placement, since so many cant figure out how to place these blocks ;))
big_blue_4101 27 Oct, 2018 @ 4:05pm
please update the mod. when i go to place the camera, it is not centered on the block, but offset outside the bounding box.
Sabrewulf 10 Apr, 2018 @ 4:59pm
please update your mod
Sabrewulf 8 Apr, 2018 @ 11:32pm
Working fine, good job
Theonewhoisodd 17 Feb, 2018 @ 11:34am
Honestly love the idea but implementation leaves much to be desired. I can't figure out how to actually place any of these blocks correctly.
Keyarose 10 Feb, 2018 @ 5:53pm
Got it placed, used it to line up the connector perfectly, but could not lock the connector. Removed the camera and it locked fine.
Dezaraman 10 Feb, 2018 @ 3:00am
Anyone know if this works fine ?
Jormoongandr 11 Jan, 2018 @ 1:11pm
Any work on higher resolution on this?
Эльфик 26 Dec, 2017 @ 12:41pm
can you do little higher resolution overlay? current looks pretty ugly because of low-res(
Onslaught5000 23 Dec, 2017 @ 9:56am
I have an issue placing the large ship docking camera. I do not see the moint point which makes it very hard to rotoate the camera to place it.
Tim2162286 1 Nov, 2017 @ 5:19pm
Would it beposible to add versions that actualy look like a peice of hull at the placement location so you can put the cameras in line with the base of the conectors without having to cover over that area?
jTurp 26 Oct, 2017 @ 1:35pm
Hmm - the overlay in the pics above are in far higher resolution than what I see on screen - why is it so pixelated?
Anach 12 Oct, 2017 @ 5:18pm
Any chance of combining the blocks to reduce clutter of my G- menu and take up less toolbar space?
SunGod 9 Oct, 2017 @ 12:39pm
Oh man, I love you for updating this. Going to give it another try immediately. Thank you!
thebad300 17 Sep, 2017 @ 8:30am
well then i will give one more try
Taurec 1 Sep, 2017 @ 2:22am
Good work! I will try it soon. :)

Finally had time to repair mod, redid the overlays which look good on my computer changed model to camera due to several issues with the previous one including collision issues. Let me know if you find anymore issues. Also as a note for the Flats system added emersives so now you can tell when its on or off.
lylesonders  [author] 31 Aug, 2017 @ 3:08pm
Figured Out issues with textures so will only need to change a few items Large grid Hull and Connector done working on rest so Hopefully will have most done by tonight. Will upload what I finish so at least the main ones are up and running wide angle versions may take a little longer
lylesonders  [author] 31 Aug, 2017 @ 12:14pm
Working on them now. Replacing the current model with the stock camera model to see if that helps. Also working on cleaning up overlays since they are also screwed up. Should have an update today for model fix but might be a little longer for textures as I have to recreate then all from scratch.
jTurp 31 Aug, 2017 @ 11:31am
Also of note - my sim speed drops from 1.0 to 0.5 when I view the camera. Gonna have to unsub, as lovely as this idea is. At least until you fix it!
jTurp 31 Aug, 2017 @ 11:28am
So I'm having an issue with this - the display looks like pure garbage when I "view" the camera. There are white boxes everywhere on my screen, and the resolution of the text/docking guide looks like 340x340 - how do I fix it?
Taurec 3 Jun, 2017 @ 3:16am
I like your optics very much. :)
But whats the white squares in the Overlay? Picture:

Onslaught5000 26 May, 2017 @ 3:54pm
I dont know if i'm the only person but i like the old mode better. I like it when it was a camera, and not a ejector. I have so much problems docking my ship with the ejector. I am back to useing the old mod, because this one is just not working out.
Joergitech 9 May, 2017 @ 6:45am
Thank for reaction
OperationDx 5 May, 2017 @ 10:30pm
Thanks bud.

thanks lylesondes
lylesonders  [author] 5 May, 2017 @ 8:39am
I havent been on SE for some time now, I have had a lot of issues with game so stopped playing. With all the updates I know things have changed to break mods. I will look into fixing them as soon as I can. I will poste an update here when I get them functional again. sorry for the time lapse in getting these back up and running.
Sasquatch 4 May, 2017 @ 12:04pm
great mod love it but the overlay look really bad
OperationDx 13 Apr, 2017 @ 2:05am
Needs a update. Graphics are glitched and look low res
