Was something changed to prevent stacking the various Cloak spells? I feel like previously (last time I played, which was several years ago to be fair), you could have all of them active at the same time, but now they seem to be exclusive. And if it was changed, could we get a patch that allows you to have them all?
Rekt 13 sept. 2023 la 18:15
Encountered an issue where my magicka is being invested in.....something....but I can't see any active spells. This happened during a fight with a dragon priest. I summoned a flame atronach which took 90% of my magicka, and it even though the flame atronach is no longer summoned, I am still stuck at 40 magicka points. I'm not sure how to fix this lol

I liked this mod but it glitches with the candlelight spell causing everyone, everywhere to constantly remark "ooh pretty colors" once you use any invested spell regardless if you currently have invested in said spell or not. This does not affect gameplay at all, but god damn is it annoying.
zoroark_irl 21 nov. 2020 la 12:25
@Anomaly-friend it works, but you'll always feel the full impact of the investment with any perk tree overhauls
JohnJSal 11 aug. 2020 la 20:47
Is this compatible with Apocalypse and Balanced Magic?
Anomaly-Friend 25 mai 2020 la 11:10
Does this still work... this sounds really cool
LongFinger_John 17 mai 2020 la 2:14
Like the mod. Is it possible though, to make this mod ONLY for the candlelight spell? Or is there a mod that does that already?
Blud 5 febr. 2020 la 19:08
@NineInchNail

A quick question: Is this compatible with Ordinator/Apocalypes?
NineInchNall  [autor] 19 nov. 2019 la 16:00
Glad you got everything working.
Sventrain 19 nov. 2019 la 1:36
Was a load order issue, still haven't figured out what exact mod was causing the interference. It also fixed some looping text and spells being displayed as time duration along with magicka (everything would list 80000+ seconds). Anyways thanks for the help. Great mod.
Sventrain 14 nov. 2019 la 3:05
I'll try the other cloaks and play with the load order next time I'm off for a weekend and get back to you. So far the only cloak I have is fire and it's not toggling. I do not have the special edition (bought og game on 11/11/11) but I do have the Dawngaurd on Hearthfire DLCs. Appreciate the help.
Rizilliant 8 nov. 2019 la 14:35
Easy there, WC!
NineInchNall  [autor] 8 nov. 2019 la 13:58
Thanks for the reassurance. I was like, "Godfrey Daniels!"
Rizilliant 8 nov. 2019 la 3:54
Frost cloak is absilutely a toggle.. Soul Cloak is not.. I havent tried shock, or Fire, but my guess is those work like frost. Perhaps Sven is having a conflict with other mods.. Ive had this mod installed since I found it some years ago, and would not play without it.

To clarify, I would not want Soul cloak a toggle personally.. It definitely wears off.. But the damage spells (atleast Frost) is working as a toggle
NineInchNall  [autor] 7 nov. 2019 la 9:36
[continued] Of course, it may also be a load order issue or conflict with another mod.
NineInchNall  [autor] 7 nov. 2019 la 9:35
Hm, the cloak spells were toggles the last time I updated this. That was several years ago, however. I gather that Skyrim Special Edition has some compatibility issues with a broad swath of mods, so if that's what you're using, that may be the problem.
Sventrain 5 nov. 2019 la 0:34
Any chance of this being updated to make cloak spells toggle? It is a bit of a rub to dispel all my blessings and summons to fetch them all again just to stop 24 hours of burning my allies. Otherwise this mod makes magic actually fun so I love it.
Ivan 15 iul. 2019 la 21:38
For some reason this makes all my spells cost 0 magicka, ayone else gets this?
Rizilliant 28 mart. 2019 la 3:14
Thank You.. And I just saw it works with SkyRe.. Dammit! Its gonne take me days to get all that reinstalled.. Best experience I ever had with Skyrim, was with SkyRe
NineInchNall  [autor] 27 mart. 2019 la 21:26
No, it does not require skse.
Rizilliant 27 mart. 2019 la 3:19
Does this require skse? I havent played in a long time, and am not in the mood to go through all that again.. If I do that, Im going Skyrim Redone, then Tedo's, etc, and who has the time, lol

I found a bug, if you spam muffle in both hands constantly you sometimes gain perm mana, I think it has to do with releasing both hands at the same time but I'm unsure. I have like 8000 mana from this bug.

Is it possible to make an individual mod that has the damage scaling that would be compatible with Ordinator and Apocolypse?
aFaithfulOne 24 iun. 2018 la 6:27
Hi,

I installed this mod through the workshop, and the spell description / mana on cast seem to apply correctly. But I cannot find any lasting armor effect on my character. Also the permanent mana reduction doesn't seem to apply (I have the same amount of mana before and after cast). Am I missing something?

Thanks for help and regards.

Is there any chance of a compatability mod for Apocalypse down the line?
Timesplitter 14 mai 2018 la 19:37

Alpharius 11 mai 2018 la 13:17
Is there any compatibility patch for this and Ordinator? Ordinator changes all the perk trees so now I can't get the half invested magicka cost from Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert and Master. It's pretty hard to use this mod with full cost for all spells regardless of perks.

Also, would be really cool if there is a patch for this and Apocalypse Magic so that all the buff spells that adds are invested too.
Marrethiel 22 mart. 2018 la 23:46
what always gets me is that while I like the invested part of the mod, then the modder adds a whole lot of other stuff. Does anyone know of a mod that either just increases buff duration or displays buff duration?
NineInchNall  [autor] 13 ian. 2018 la 10:20
Re:compiler error.

You also have to compile magicInvestmentCostScript. First, actually. The one depends on the other, you see.
trisbro 11 ian. 2018 la 9:55
Messed around with load order and you were right. Very curious though that it only affected ironflesh, not oak, stone or ebony. Thanks and keep up the good work ^^
Apple 11 ian. 2018 la 8:36
I tried compiling them and was met with an error on the magicOakfleshScript, saying that there is no magicInvestmentCostScript.
NineInchNall  [autor] 10 ian. 2018 la 19:56
That's usually a load order issue.
trisbro 10 ian. 2018 la 18:32
Love this mod, always use it with my mage for the ultimate experience. Just ran into a problem tho, I got ironflesh and cast it, but it only lasts the regular short time. Sure enough, the spell cost is higher than it would be with invested magicka. Oak and stone flesh worked fine, I'm wondering why ironflesh is not working for me, weird.
NineInchNall  [autor] 10 ian. 2018 la 11:23
Tested myself. Here's what you have to do.

Put both source files (with a .psc extension) into the scripts/source directory. Also put a file called magicOakfleshScript.psc in there. All that should be in the file is a single line:
Scriptname magicOakfleshScript extends magicInvestmentCostScript

Now go to the Gameplay menu and compile all three scripts. With that done, you can now go to an appropriate MagicEffect (e.g., ArmorFFSelf25) and edit the properties for magicOakfleshScript in the papyrus scripts section.

Apparently, the bsa files store the compiled script somewhere in them, but the creation kit needs the source in order to know the script's parameters, because the scripts are compiled without header information. Presumably this is to ... I don't know, make it harder to mod things? With a modding tool? dafuq?
NineInchNall  [autor] 9 ian. 2018 la 10:45
I'll give it a look this afternoon.
Apple 9 ian. 2018 la 8:59
I'm still unable to even find the magicOakfleshScript file. It's not the name of the source file you uploaded on nexus (two files - magicInvestmentScript.psc and magicInvestmentBaseScript.psc) and it's not included in the source files in the Skyrim/Data folder.

The mod itself still works though so I'm lost as to how I should proceed, because your mod is seemingly reading from some script located someplace , which seems to be completely untraceable.
NineInchNall  [autor] 9 ian. 2018 la 7:41
You should be able to click "properties" for the magicOakfleshScript. At least, that's how you're supposed to edit the parameters. Something might have changed in the five years since I last opened the software.
Apple 8 ian. 2018 la 21:40
Okay so Ive been hunting for this investment cost thing, and it's not here: https://i.imgur.com/qafnKuk.png

Im guessing its in a script, like you said, but I cant seem to access them for some reason. I've opened the master file and the plugin file, but the script isnt available to read for any spell.
NineInchNall  [autor] 8 ian. 2018 la 17:07
If you open the mod in the creation kit, the investment cost should be a value set in the MagicEffect of each Spell. In that MagicEffect, the papyrus scripts have variable values assigned. That's where the investment cost lives.
Apple 8 ian. 2018 la 11:01
Is there any plan to make this compatible with ordinator? If not, is there a way I can set the base investment level in the mod to make it work? (Ie can I change how much is invested)
NineInchNall  [autor] 27 dec. 2017 la 7:39
Yes, that is correct, Tulshe.,
Engineer gaming 18 dec. 2017 la 8:25
Do i understand right that mage's robes of conjuration and alteration have no use since "reduce spell cost" effect affects only casting amount of mana, which is very small, but not the invested amount?
Imploded 21 nov. 2017 la 12:25
I have much more fun playing this way - thanks!
jaredpoth 11 nov. 2017 la 8:11
Noticed a neat thing that has never happened to me before. Idk if it is this mod or a glitch, but i used a scroll of ebonyflesh (still uses invested magic) when I went to fight the guy with the staff of magnus. I just stood still and let him use the staff on me and kept his magicka drained. My alteration went up like 7 points in just a minute.
Archer 9 nov. 2017 la 15:06
Any chance of a compatability mod for those of us who use Ordinator, the perk mod? I would love to be able to use both. Or maybe just a version that doesn't change the perk trees?
Doc_Calm 28 oct. 2017 la 9:13
Didn't hold my investment magic; it recharged; maybe because it was taken from bonus magic granted by enchanted items?
NineInchNall  [autor] 20 sept. 2017 la 19:44
The solution to that issue is in the FAQ.
Doog 20 sept. 2017 la 13:03
Unfortunately this mod permanently crippled my character. Putting close to 90% of my points into magicka and i only have 180 max after magic dispel at level 50, not sure where the issue came from but it deducted a lot of my characters magicka permanently, i liked this mod so its a shame im gonna have to ditch :/.
Falaris 14 sept. 2017 la 22:20
RTFM, got it. ;)
