Are you able to make it so that staffs can change colour as well? I have edited the one I am using so Idk if that changes things, but if you can find a way to color staffs please do.

may have found a method to the madness (after making a new save without betabound oddly enough) and found some fascinating thing:

If you play with manufacturers touch
The stock/technique of the weapon determines the special (which is obvious) but can aswell determine the element of the weapon, BUT, found out you can technically "infuse" the stock/technique with a middle and right part of the same weapon which had an element, but only works on physical stocks/techniques (IE, if you put a physical stock onto 2 bits of a poison weapon, the stock ends up poison type)

While the handle/middle part of gun, affects manufacturer type so for example, if you wanna keep this cool gun but it is rotik, you can endlessly mix and match but dont forget about the middle, the middle is basically the core of the weapon, left and right side can be changed all over

No, it shows you replacing the blade of the second sword with the blade of the first sword, WITHOUT taking the second sword out. I mean, did you recreate the FIRST SWORD, ENTIRELY, by putting a scroll, handle, and blade back into the assembler while it's EMPTY FIRST?

@alberto-rota that's not how weapons work. the weapon's buildscript fills out the weapon's data when the item is created, even data that's not specified on creation. this is why we can put 'commonpistol' in a loot pool and have the game randomly pick data for it. if the data wasn't provided when spawning weapons, spawned weapons wouldn't work at all, not just with this mod. here's a video of me using spawned weapons in WA https://imgur.com/a/bzgkOk0

As in i have to seperate basically "chests" of weapons between shop sold *and* chest found? Or how am i supposed to understand it?

i wasnt using manually spawned weapons, i just used a bunch of merchant sold weapons...are ya telling me theres meta data tied to the *origin* of a weapon, as in i cant mix and match merchant sold weapons and chest found ones?

It was stated several times, but do NOT use "Manually spawned weapons".

Use it only with "Naturally found weapons".

Weapons in particular have a LOT of metadata that people usually forget about when spawning them from the console, and this relies heavily on it.

I tested it with spears, actually. I couldn't even recreate the original weapons, so that physical/elemental thing isn't relevant.

@Turbotowns so far with experimenting, i found out you cant combine physical gun parts with elemental ones (for some reason) so it could be that...altho i am unsure still so id not reccomend with playing with it

This mod no longer works with frackin universe, sadly I must uninstall it. Hopefully the mod developer will have mercy on us and fix it even though star-bound is an old game.

@Foxhell, no, it is, it doesn't crash if they're kept together. it just doesn't change ANY unique weapons. it does need a slight change though - check the FU-Friendly topic i posted a while back
